I've seen some packs on github, such as TPPI. But I don't know if that's just their source to work from for version control between their team or if they actually distribute from there. Interesting if they do.

It takes a lot of work and dedication to run a server properly. Also, a lot of time. I wouldn't want the platform devs to take time out of their already massively busy schedule with their updates to setup and maintain servers for the public that would get swamped and overrun in minutes. According to the livestream, there will be a lot of things that help out server packs in the future. If someone wants to take up the mantle of setting up an official B-Team server network, they could technically do that and display it as such. I just think you are underestimating the amount of time and effort that goes into running a server and over estimating that amount of time that people have after their jobs and other extra curriculars.

Technic is the best community and I use the launcher and solder for everything. So I should be sharing my stuff here first. -Good Editing -Good Music -Clear Mic -No fidgety camera -No pacing I was learning as I was going. The quality went up exponentially as I released videos. It already started off HD, but it gets even better. I hope some people check this out and like what they see. There will be a lot more released. Someone REALLY doesn't like change. Or grammar. Since when are people running off in droves to join the FTB fan club? FTB has literally nothing on Technic. They have some (poorly made) modpacks and a .. second rate launcher in comparison. They do not have Solder. And they don't have any of the other amazing technology that the Technic team has in store. The mods and modpacks that are a part of this community != the sum total of Technic and its future. Technic is a platform, a launcher; a system designed to bring amazing things to the public in a unique and interesting way that makes it much easier for the people behind the scenes and the end users. If you don't like the modpacks that they put together, seriously, get over it and make your own exactly how you want it to be! That is the power that they give you, and for free. In summation, Technic isn't going to "Fall" as you say. They aren't making a grand display as a last move to save themselves from collapse. They are making progress and forging a new way into the future with even more cool things. If you don't have anything constructive to say, sometimes it's best not to say anything.

Oh trust me, I'll be there. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store. It's genius, I am 100% sure! I'm getting tired of advertising my server on places like planet minecraft, minecraft forums, and FTB, where it mixes with bukkit and people don't understand how modpacks work. Technic already knows the deal. I said FTB because half the time when you advert a server, they delete your post or downvote you to oblivion on Reddit. Real classy gig they have going over there. Most of my best players have come from Technic. I know that increasing the visibility as a "server pack" can only help that in the long run. What..? I don't even. heh

This is never an excuse to yell at people or be rude. People take their laziness and ignorance out on others like this all over the place. I usually ignore things like this because the OP can't be bothered to do a tiny bit of research on their own and lash out at the wrong people. It's not good to feed into them and yell back, right. But don't reward the screaming child with negative reinforcement by giving into his demands.

I was going to wait until the stream to ask about this, but maybe it's worth saying now. Is it possible to differentiate server specific packs from other mod packs? My pack is designed specifically for a single server and I know there are a lot of other packs just like that. Maybe making some check boxes for pack makers to define their set up could ease in categorizing packs and make searching simpler for users in the long run. Everyone is looking for something different. Some people want to play something cool by themselves or find a fun pack that they can use to make a server on their own. And in the case of my pack, it already comes with the server and you just need to download and log in. Separating these categories could also help make different types of packs with higher quality more visible that might fall under the radar because their scope isn't as grand as some of the more popular packs. Just some thoughts.

That would only matter if you specified the java path specifically for that version of java or if you used the jdk and specified -server or to run in 64 bit mode. If you specify the java path to a specific folder (C:Program Filesjavajre7_u51bin for example) there might be issues for someone with a different version of java using the same batch file. If your friend used the same batch file but a different version of java, such as 32 bit version, the path would be different (C:Program Files(x86)javajre7_u51bin). It is also possible that there is an issue with the environmental variable "path".

Hello! I thought I'd post this here because other server owners know the importance of having a good staff. You might also know people who are in between places looking for a good server to work on. Ok, I closed the technic launcher and restarted it and it worked. Everything is running perfectly. You have helped me so much the last couple of days. I couldn't have figured it out without your help. I really do appreciate it. Thank you very much .

Nope. I made a direct download link in dropbox. If you put it in your browser, it auto downloads. But it still returns the same zip error in technic.

Set to direct download? Is that an option on dropbox that I am not seeing or is that on technic?

Ok, so after much work and a few more changes to the pack, it's finished. It works perfectly and we're satisfied that all of the bugs are worked out. It runs well in server and client. Alright. I found two mods that do it automatically on startup for server and client. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1928632-164smpforge-idfix-and-idfix-minus-mods-for-resolving-id-conflicts/ If I resolve the ID conflicts, have everything at 1.6.4, have everything properly organized, the download link works, and the updated pack works in client and server, what could cause it to not work in the technic launcher specifically?

Do I just change the ID's to a random really high number that isn't already taken?

I have made a lot of updates to the pack since yesterday and have yet to post a dropbox. I think I should wait until I fix the ID conflicts. Thank you for helping me up to this point.

Wow I must have hit Force Directory Change on accident. But now it's fixed.
