those are resource packs which started with 1.6.2 I believe, which can include sounds as well, if there is not a legacy texture pack already you would have to export all the images and recreate the texture pack filtering out all things not needed like horses. (it is a pain but can be done. I have done it myself) what I did was started with a tekkit texturepack and replaced the images I wanted to replace which pack where you interested in?

just to clarify, are you talking server side only or both server side and client side (have 8 local PC and 4 per bungee server all on separate pcs) this could apply to macs as well

good to know, what would be considered a large server with many players and/or loaded chunks, I personally have 520 chunks loaded constantly not including all the other players

I actually made a oil sea ocean like in the picture, It is unstable but the pumps will fill my oil reservoirs so quick I only need to drop a chunk loader down long enough to fill them. the mystcraft age doesn't degrade when unloaded. To anyone in Tekkit thinking this may be a issue please note Neither Tekkit nor Tekkit lite will have this issue, we have The Deep Storage Unit or DSU is one of the most useful storage blocks in Tekkit and with a properly build logistic system there should be no reason to ever have stuff spill onto floor. I run the game with 8GB dedicated and it runs beautifully, my massive logistic system required it. but then again I am running at top end alienware with java 64bit so it can probably can handle it better, but I would be very interested to read your take on this Thanks

yes, some tekkit items maybe pink blocks and classified as future blocks but as long as you dont move anything it should be fine, just make a copy of your original world to edit and if you mess up re copy it

try upping that amount to the highest you can, if 4 GB is the max then you need to grab the 64Bit java, let us know how that works

512 Vram? hmm that maybe the issue, not 100% sure but I have run into a similer issue before, the very few macs I have dealt with just cant run tekkit, too much stuff going on. but we will try anyway. in the tekkit options how much ram have you dedicated to tekkit? you should get a dedicated ati card, something with 2GB dedicated video ram possible

how much ram does your mac have? how much DEDICATED video ram? dedicated being the importatnt part. does regular minecraft work?

you could try and open the world in mcedit, there is an option to regenerate chunks, that may fix the level for you

why are people using hamachi, that is adding unesssary compications , just open the minecraft port on the router and connect like normal people do

if you download mcpc+ you rename it to tekkit.jar and when you run it the first time it create a plugins folder. then you drop all the bukkit plugins you want, like vault. residence, essentials. I have done that since day one and have no griefers. because lets face it griefers are lazy. if they cant troll you right away they wont bother. residence is the best one because then everyone can mark off their own turf. I mark off areas of town as the server then no one can grief it

well according to my tekkit that solar panel can only be used in the tinker table for the modular power suit, so I doubt it will be of much use to you outside of it
