Uninstall Norton, it doesn't recognize what the launcher is or does and blocks it by default.

Asgard shield we can live without, yes, but not Harken Scythe! An armour that repairs itself when you take souls? Way too cool to pass by! And for Hexxit Gear, that's a mod by Sct the Technic wizard himself. If you can get all other mods updated then I'm sure Sct would update his Same goes for CanVox's mod Offlawn

I'm not a technical wiz, but I heard that Mojang migrated their authentication server. Since Technic is a third-party software who tries to connect to something that Kaspersky deems unknown might be the cause Kaspersky is being silly and blocks it.

I would try that Command with the magnifying glass.

Get your command window up and copy this line and paste it setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true Edit. You can't update 6 to 7. Uninstall 6 and download the latest java 7 upgrade 51 Make sure to get the proper java installed before doing that command line

Start. Type Command on the search bar. Done

This user had 45 and his didn't work. I could drag up more threads, but it's really irrelevant. Updating to latest and making sure that the error line states "SocketException" means that we can give users this magical code line and everything will work out fine.

What bits is your OS, 32 or 64? This is not your java version. Try again. Also find out if your java is 32 or 64-bits How much RAM does your computer have and how much did you allocate to your launcher?

Uninstall Norton, it's awful towards the launcher. Get a better AV like MSE or Avast!

There is always an error log, you find it by clicking the Cog-Wheel button on the top right corner on the launcher window. Post the error log inside quote tags or paste it on pastebin.com and give us a link
