You said all modpacks are offline, so none of the officiall modpacks work? (tekkit, tekkit lite, hexxit, big dig) Lapitos galacticraft is a custom modpack, so I wont help with that one, better ask the modpack creator.

Make sure Avira is updated to latest version. Before you start the launcher, could you try right-clicking and choose "Run as admin". I'm really out of ideas...

What is latest? Last year latest? Last week latest? There is a cog button on the top right corner, click it and tell me which build you have. It's amazing what one can find when one just copies the error "java.lang.StackOverflowError" on this forum. You should try it sometimes Take a look and see If you ask me, try MCEdit. It will allow you to enter your world without logging inside the game, try to move your character further away from your base and try to delete whatevers causing the error. Don't ask me what it is, I don't know, I've never played Tekkit Edit. are you sure that is the whole error log? You didn't skip anything?

Please don't bump your post, if you have more information when nobody has posted then click the "Edit" button on the bottom of your post (if the Edit post box is empty, click the "More options" to properly edit it) Find your Control Panel and Uninstall Program, once there when a list of programs are shown to you, find a program called "Relevant Knowledge". If you have it, uninstall it and get yourself an antivirus, because you have got a malware that bothers the launcher. Please don't get AVG, Norton or McAffee, they are bullies towards the launcher and wont play ball nicely.

This is not a Technic Launcher bug, if you download a custom modpack from the Platform and it fails then please contact the author of said modpack.

Could you please give me a screenshot of that error window? You are absolutly sure that you have installed java 7 properly?

While Avast is good SFR is unknown and could be the reason, try disabling it. Before starting the launcher, try right clicking and choose "Run as admin". Tell me if that works

This indicates something went wrong on the config. Delete Hexxit folder, remember to backup any Hexxit saves

hmm... I asked this bit earlier, because all I got was "failed to connect to minecraft.net". I was wondering if the staff had removed the offline mode.

Technic does not give support for custom made modpacks, so this is not a Technic launcher error. Try the Platform Pagoda, include a link to your modpack there and maybe someone can find the problem. Or read through the modpack creation guide
