Try decreasing the spawn rate of sea-creatures (stupid squids!) and all the land creatures and increase the spawn of horses. Now, do you have Thaumcraft?. Craft yourself the jump boots and hop hop hop until you cant stop! Or until you find a pegasus. They are very rare, so it's all based on luck, really
