  1. Nearbygamer was worse. For the longest time, he was the only one that came up (in English, that is) when I searched for Technic let's plays. He would make the most stupid mistakes, then laugh at himself in a childish voice for doing so, and then he would make the same mistake in 10 seconds.
  2. Merchant, I agree, he derps a lot. But that's part of what makes him funny.
  3. I guess. I'm also responding, not to convince the jackasses. They're firmly convinced already that Technic is "teh evilz!!!!1!!eleven!" I do it to convince the viewers that haven't made up their minds, as I hate to see bunches of people turned away from Technic because of a few jackasses.
  4. I love watching Direwolf20's YouTube series, especially the one with the mod authors. However, every single time I watch one of his videos, a war erupts in the comments. "Technic are pirates, and so are you if you use Technic!" "Technic has permissions now!" "PICS OR GTFO!" Ever had that wish to punch someone in the face over the Internet? Just knock some sense into them until they realise it doesn't matter?
  5. Yeah, but piracy is piracy. Pirates are after convenience, and modding the source of a demo, vs just creating a Minecraft account and using Mineshafter? I mean, I might do it for the lulz, but why would anyone use it?
  6. Why in the world would they do that, when they already have login proxies?
  7. Tekkit textures will work for Technic SSP as well, but you'll have a couple mods with missing textures. I'm currently working on a JohnSmith texture pack for Technic and beyond, and when I have initial release, it'll be found here: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/would-anyone-be-interested-in-john-smith-technic-tekkit-support.17131/
  8. I'm currently working on IC2, and then the priority is RedPower, then BuildCraft, then EE. And no, I'll not be vanishing. Also, if anyone has textures to contribute, I can definitely work them in, with credits to those involved.
  9. This thread has been discontinued: the new thread is here. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/32x-johnsmith-technic-tekkit.29809/ Good luck, have fun, and happy Minecrafting!
  10. Hey, sct. Just wanted to let you know that the new Technic site doesn't show up under Linux, but when my browser reports Windows instead, it magically appears.

  11. Yeah. I'm not the best at internet. :P
  12. Ah. So, it works just like .NET does it! Cool. So, Object extends Thread couldn't even happen, because object would extend block, or item.
  13. LOL. I don't do Java, (i do C#) does it support multiple inheritance?
  14. Ice melts into water, which then stays. Water doesn't evaporate in the Nether unless you place it with a bucket.
  15. Besides ThaumCraft, there aren't many great ones that aren't SMP. Even BC3 has an SMP beta, Direwolf and Co. play it. I know you're opposed to the SSP-SMP merge, not sure why. It runs better on dual core computers (yay multithreading!), the SMP bugs are being fixed (yay unbuggy SMP!), and a unified code base means better, faster coding at Mojang. (yay new features!) If you have a single-core PC, I feel sorry for ya. I really do. But, they can't keep designing for the past; they are looking towards the future.
  16. I'm not hating on anyone, just telling you how you look. And, like I said, the Development builds. They're what most people are using. And a short attention span isn't something to brag about. :P
  17. You know, player 1, the people here have been trying to help, but you've come across only as "I know what I'm doing, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!1!eleven! Oh, and BTW, I want your help!" The likely problem is AVG. AVG is great, but honestly, it has almost as many false positives as McAfee or Norton. Try avast! free antivirus, it's quite good. Edit: Also, outdated? The dev builds are 1.2.5, using the latest Minecraft Forge, 4096 fix, and everything! They're just a button press away!
  18. BTW, not only can you install Linux alongside Windows, without touching Windows, most distributions allow you to just put in the CD and try it from there, without installing on your computer at all.
  19. Minecraft.jar has nothing to do with Technic, as Technic installs separately. Your antivirus is the problem. Norton is a wretched hive of scum and false positives. Try avast! free antivirus, or, to get to the root of the problem, use Linux. :)
  20. Ah, Norton. Almost as malware as the malware it supposedly prevents. If I were you, I'd use avast! Free Antivirus. No recurring fees, (no fees at all, in fact) and a better AV than almost any other.
  21. The SMP bugs are being fixed, slowly but surely, which means a better experience for both singleplayer and multiplayer.
  22. Democracy is an illusion in my world. Those who vote Endermen will follow my orders, and those who vote Creepers will follow the orders of my "twin", DudeLaz2012. *wink*
  23. Yes I am, Adler. My tools, ahem, political parties, will be Endermen and Creepers. Just to remind the testificates that both choices are wrong.
  24. Millenaire? I hope not. Millenaire is one of the laggiest mods ever. (on my hardware, YMMV) Besides, I love testificates. And, in 1.3, they'll trade with you, the only thing I actually liked about Millenaire. (Im'ma set up a testificate randomiser, and hold testificate elections)
