It had better not be mod authors getting bugs up their asses, because anyone who did, just abolished any chance ever in the universe I might even consider giving them money. Technic is one of the best things to ever happen to the Minecraft community, and I can deal with people not liking it, but I cannot deal with people trying to sabotage it. Legal or not. This is 2012. If you can't deal with your free mod being distributed by a free pack that makes it available to hundreds (thousands?) of noobs who would never be able to install it on their own, then you don't deserve to have anything come back to you at all.

Amusingly, what was unnecessary was redownloading vanilla minecraft, because Technic doesn't use that folder. What -was- necessary was in fact downloading a new launcher, due to the github going down. -
Oh great, the busybodies have arrived. Damnit. I wonder if the mod authors actually got bugs up their asses, or if this is just Github trying to be thorough. Oh well. Kaker'll find something better.

Unfortunately, Norton is deleting the file as soon as I download it. Not enough people have used it yet. Now to decide whether to force Norton to run it, or just wait a few hours until it registers that it's not the next coming of the black plague...

I replied to one of the server threads, and now it's forever showing up in my "Show new replies to your posts." because, well, I have a new reply to one of my posts. Would it be possible to somehow blacklist threads from that page to say I'm no longer interested in seeing replies to that post?

If we, for a delusional moment, assume this isn't a convoluted attempt to pirate Minecraft, but rather an actual mod distribution, I recommend not using a mod written by someone so stupid or arrogant as to just give you the client instead of an actual mod, because how in the hell would you be expected to use OTHER mods if that were the distribution method? One installation of Minecraft for each mod? Holy hell. Even Flowerchild doesn't try to go that far to keep other mods off his hemline. -
I expect some form of financial compensation from Technic for the psychological treatment I now require.

This is a may-as-well-still-be-beta game that's been reverse-engineered and decompiled to be modded by a bajillion different people with those mods assembled into a pack driven by a launcher that actually is labelled as still in beta. If your users have such short attention spans that they can't stand to have the damn thing rebooted, especially if they are informed that it will actually improve their playing experience in the long run, do you -really- want users like that? (Hint: No.)

Windows "features" like that, make people who otherwise would be competent computer-users, into dribbling wigglers. Turn your extensions back on, and be free, and never get laughed at for making "README.txt.txt".

Unfortunately, the low tickrate makes the IC and EE machines run like molasses. I can actually gutter a macerator with only six overclock upgrades. -

XX XY A 4x4 texture might be the following. XXXX XXXX XXYY XXYY Bigger is better, right? Oh wait. The block is still the same size. Hey genius: Minecraft is already stretching the texture into as many pixels as necessary to fit the size of the block on the screen. If you double the pixels and just copy them IT'S THE SAME TEXTURE. -

I don't think you realize just how much the Java runtime has advanced (in function and in featureset) just in the 6 to 7 transition. Trying to make all this stuff work with 6 would actually require a minor lobotomy. This is the only viable option. -
The prefixes are to control the loading order, since it goes alphabetically.

I dunno. I made a phil-stone-a-like and transmuted stacks with it with no problems or crashes. Works just like it did pre-release during the omgrecipes days. -

I doubt he left it that way on purpose just to be annoying. I have to believe that either he doesn't know, or the override is too buggy and unreliable to use. -
I would support (and watch) an ad-generating livestream. Don't know how they'd ever find the time to do one though. :P

Once I've used it for a while and know it isn't some weird hackish thing only used by half the code that hoses a savefile, sure. There may be a good reason the EE guy isn't using it yet. I have no idea.
