  1. The one released by Santhriel(spelling) I changed the rings because I thought they all looked too much alike. The arcane ring and void rings looked almost identical unless turned on. This is what they look like now: I borrowed a gem from another band when designing the Ring of Arcana because it was the most attractive and had a large gem which would easily let you distinguish its many forms. I added more saturation to make the rings pop out against the dark doku design of the gui, too. To be honest, it was hard to tell which ring you were on because of the really bland design. This design lets you know right away. I used the gem from the Black Hole Band to spice up the void ring. I'm a sucker for gems (Well, I am Rarity of course!) so I thought it could use a little something.
  2. The file released up above pretty much has every texture released. Only thing missing is some RedPower stuff and GUI for the iron chests. Everything else is completely fine IMO. Only thing I did was use the Dokucraft customizer to change some of the textures like the ornate stone blocks because they looked bad to build with.
  3. Oooooooooooooooooooo.. Santhrel, are you working with FTWBurn?
  4. You can look over the net, scour the wastelands, trek through the jungles, climb the tallest mountains, but you won't find anymore texture packs that are already listed here, sadly. Some artists such as the one who made the John Smith Texture pack claim to be working on Tekkit support, but no person has made any progress. There are a small number of texture pack owners who outright REFUSE to do Tekkit support out of some vendetta or because it simply has way too many textures to tackle.
  5. Is this a Server or Client Side update?
  6. I found out what was wrong. Apparently texture packs with certain items in Crystal chest causes extreme lag. Removing the Silver ingots fixed the lag.
  7. Wanted to pop in and say since installing 3.1.1 we have the same problems. Parts of our house and areas outside it reduce us to 1-5 FPS for no unexplainable reason. We are using no EE, IC2, etc machines. Completely vanilla for the most part.
  8. Sadly, it is not. I had to mix Sphax and this together to get some stuff, and even then there's missing things like Indigo flowers, etc, not to mention there is -0- EE in it.
  9. Dokucraft is by far my favorite texture pack. I tried making my own mod of it and whil eI was successful with a lot of it, there is just WAY too much stuff in railcraft/buildcraft/ic2 to even think about tackling it alone. I eventually settled on Sphax.. Which ok, but the cartoonish look of it is distracting.
  10. I love the old school RPG look of the mod, and would love to see a Tekkit version of this.
  11. The Wiki is pretty outdated, but to be on the safe side you could probably just break the wooden pipe and remove the item being duplicated.
  12. I have never had any problems with energy converters corrupting chunks, but you can "Turn them off' using levers, removing items from them, etc and they will just soak up EE. Not sure if it helps, but it does make it a more attractive machine, I think.
  13. Disable Void Rings. If you toss any item out of your inventory while a Void ring is in an Alchemy bag, it will duplicate it. 2 Red Matter could become 8 matter, 49 matter, etc, etc. To exploit this further, toss the item from your alchemy bag your void ring is in into the game world. The more rings you have in bags, the more you get duplicated.
  14. That looks lots of fun! My boyfriend and I are not using EE MKs to generate ECs. We have been making Red Matter with Void Bands and Alchemy Bags. It's fairly fast, especially since we use MCMMO and have double drops. Our house is more homely. We're starting on our Machine shop, which will house the bulk of our IC stuff. Since we're not using any EE machines (except the Red Matter Furnace) we are going to be using IC2 stuff to create material. This will still give us incentives to leave our house rather than just pull a lever and make stuff appear out of nowhere; which is what happened in our last world. My current project is a Water Temple style building based on LoZ which will house our supplies. Diamonds are a bit scarce at the moment so we haven't upgraded to crystal chests, but we will once I get that built.
  15. I don't understand it, so I can't offer an opinion on the subject.

  16. So if one wanted to find legitimate Tekkit news, as well as ways to donate, etc, I'm assuming these forums are not that place =P.
  17. installing things into your minecraft.jar is bad. Wouldn't you install it into your Modpack.jar instead?
  18. My boyfriend and I built on a Mushroom Biome. We used the lost seed and set up shop. Lots of good mining without monsters, and a big underground mine below the biome which you can explore without worry. As for where you should set up shop, if you want quick ECs, finding oils sources is nice, but I wouldn't recommend building near one since you can exhaust oil supplies very fast. What you should do is make a tablet, make a bucket, fill your inventory with buckets, and bucket up the oil and just make a Klein star and destroy the oil; converting it to ECs. Can get full diamond in no time this way, but you will need some obsidian first. Personally, I go for visually appealing, with areas that give me lots of room to build, such as Plains. I avoid areas next to oceans because if I want to expand later, I am stuck using the mercurial eye to fill in large areas of ocean, which is not fun.
  19. It's already added to the development version (3.1.1), but there is no 3.1.1 server files so you will have to update the server files yourself.. Which is really hard if you're like me XD ♥
  20. Interesting. Can you explain what CraftBukkit++ Is and how this effects lighting? I checked out the forums for it, and I am not sure I understand how this works.
  21. ...Not what I expected. Regardless, the author of said mod says it is not forge compatible so I will take his word on it and avoid using it for now. I am not familiar with mods, but I suggested my boyfriend install this NoLagg mod you guys mentioned. Unfortunately, it did not seem to solve our problem in the Nether. I will continue to seek other things, but I appreciate all the comments. Since the lighting fixes are pushed back to 1.4 this; now more than ever is really important to increasing functionality in Minecraft.
  22. I posted the same thing here: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/tekkit-friendly-light-lag-fix-mod.13848/ I didn't get a single reply, but I'll watch this thread, too. Good luck to us both, yes?
  23. As many of you know, the nether is a huge lag fest because of the way lighting is handled. Thousands and thousands of lava and fire blocks being re-lighted makes you grind to a halt, almost making the nether unplayable. Someone recently released a mod that works client side, but it doesn't have forge compatibility. That mod can be found here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1238817-nether-lag-fix-client/ Any chance someone has another mod they can suggest? My boyfriend and I simply can't handle the nether the way it is and we could really use something. EDIT: Could I get this renamed to "Tekkit Friendly Light Lag Fix Mod"?
  24. How in the world did you get the newest version of Forge installed in Tekkit? I tried it and it just booped.
