Opening to LAN = Players connecting to the host, if they're connected to THE SAME WIFI AS THE HOST. And only that! (LAN = Local Area Network, but for Minecraft it's the internal router IP that the router defines) If you want to play over the internet (IPs like 4.64.4.144 and etc. are external IPs and need portforwarding) then you port forward and host a normal server, not a LAN world. You don't need to port forward if you're playing under the same wifi, ad-hoc network or personal hotspot. Ports are only for incoming/outcoming internet connections. No, port forwarding will not work, since the port changes every time you open to LAN! You can either use Hamachi (I haven't tested this) or run a dedicated machine with a server on it.

Any good links to self-teaching sites? (C and Python) I teach myself...

So, I took up learning Visual Basic (heheh, I use linux and learn a microsoft language..) I just wanted to ask, is this worth it? I want to learn more languages, like C++, or C#, or Java (I suck at it, badly), or BASIC (Is Visual Basic = BASIC?), or Assembly.. I want to learn more! In Israel, there's a computer science course you can take, to complete the GCSE's and be epic and get a diploma that indicates that you have passed the course in success and are now a fully experienced coder. I need that, since I will be coding for Mojang (hehe, some excuse), (If you haven't realized yet, that part was a joke) Any thoughts?

The most the mod developers can do is implant some kind of virusy code into their "mods" and release that. But that's illegal, I think (Correct me if I'm wrong). They also cry like huge babies. Cry all day, all night. Rally up their supporters and go to kake's doorway and protest there. Flowerchild is one of the most perfect examples (An excerpt from his forums - "Just an FYI. I can say I tried it, I booted into a live cd of Ubuntu (LiveCD = operating system ON THE CD. no hard drive shit required) and installed java, and it works fine. (For me, but it works fine on my regular OS (Ubuntu ) anyways.

That's a very crappy ISP, then. (The crappiest you get here is ~5Mb/s [i keep raging on this, Mb = Megabit (as in internet speed), MB = Megabyte (as in, storage)]) Is it a laptop or a PC? (If I am being ignorant, forgive me as I skimmed through the thread) If it's a laptop, try going to another place with faster wifi, and see if that works. If it's a PC, get a better internet, OR, try booting a live cd of Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise Pangolin <- The instructions on how to make the LiveCD, follow them up to step 5, and press "Try ubuntu" on the menu.) and manually install Java and see if that works there. If it does, then you have to reinstall your operating system. As to the laptop wifi thing, if it doesn't work, try what I said up here. ^ If you understood nothing, give me a hoot.

Right click the batch file. Click "Edit.." Change "java -jar -Xmx3G -Xms2G tekkit.jar nogui" to: " java -jar -Xmx1G -Xms1G tekkit.jar nogui " (The reason it errors out is because by default, it's set to take minimum 2 GB of your RAM, and max 3GB. You only have 2GB, so you need to tone it down.)

You have the wrong password/username? (You can't say "Java: THE NEWEST HURR DURR" or "Operating System: TECHNIC LOLOL" because, we might not know the newest java. Or that a new operating system made by Kake & Co. came out.
