Solution here, buy the game, there's only one reason why you would have troubles logging in, its a cracked version of the techniclauncher that is around somewhere on not so legit websites.

Need Help Adding Plugins Using MultiCraft PLEASE HELP!
Dodge34 replied to Gutsii's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Beware of all the exploits and tricks a griefing team can use if you decide to open your server to the public, they are such a pain in the but thoses griefers have nothing else to do in their life than ruining the hard work of others, most of the time, its because they can't do the same work so they destroy it and think they are kings of the world for doing it, most of them would just need a good spanking with a mouse or keyboard by Steve himself (wouldn't it be hilarious to see that happen) -
Really a nice guide, I hope it can help a load of people, but you should mention that everyone that want to join the server must have the files for their client (config files for forestry, removing the forestry folder from ee2) otherwise they won't be able to join the server, and simply adding forestry won't work cause they need to have the same config files for the ID conflict to be able to play on the server. Thanks also for the NEI plugin, didn't know it was possible to have Forestry recipes in it, really a nice addition since I'm just getting started with this mod.

Need Help Adding Plugins Using MultiCraft PLEASE HELP!
Dodge34 replied to Gutsii's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Nope, I have a private family server and when I saw how hard it was to get permissions working, I decided to never open the server to the public ever, too hard and too many griefers around to risk it. -
Not sure if it should be posted here, this kind of thread explain to griefers how to grief somehow, I understand that it wasn't the goal of the OP, but now with everyone trying to help, it shows up the flaws of the system and explain to griefers how to mess around.

Need Help Adding Plugins Using MultiCraft PLEASE HELP!
Dodge34 replied to Gutsii's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Simple, just dump your plugins in the plugins folder using the ftp with filezilla and reboot your server, then everything should run smooth, or if you can't access the ftp and plugins folder, because your host is blocking them, I suggest to change your host and get out of the one you got, any serious host should provide ftp access and then you should be able to dump stuff in the plugins folder. -
I'm really sorry for bringing some bad news for you but If you didn't specify anything before in the techniclauncher your worlds are gone, you have to specify in the options button if you want your savegames to be backed up when the launcher update.

Anyone got any texture packs that are good for tekkit?
Dodge34 replied to bruvvy's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I use soartex modded edition, its not 100% complete (still a WIP) but its damn great to have this one and a load of stuff is already there, looks really nice and not cartoonish like bdcraft. -
First I've searched on the forums but didn't find what I was looking for that was mentioned not so long a go in a thread here that there was a version of worldguard made for tekkit (or modded for it), if anyone can help me out to locate it, that would be really appreciated, I started using that on my server but there's a bunch of problems like nukes can make the worldguard zone explode, EE tools can cut it like butter too (destruction catalyst) or perhaps I'm not setting the zones correctly. I've done it on a test server (who wants a nuke on their real server near their hard worked constructions after all) but still. Then I remember seeing some post about a special version of WorldGuard but I can't find it back.

How to get a Wireless Remote to trigger the force field?
Dodge34 replied to IceCream's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I would bet that this could be done with a toggle latch from RP2 (cause the remote can only pulse, not toggle, so have to do it with a toggle latch or similar) and the wireless receiver and the wireless remote next to the thing that triggers your forcefield -
Thats fair, I respect your choice here and this is the kind of server I would love to play on if I didn't have my own, tried a load of Tekkit servers but sadly all of them are laggy no matter how they claim they don't have lag, for your problem you can look at the suggestions others have made, I might try ChopTree2 on my move to 3.1.2 today, not sure if really needed but that could be fun, but knowing it won't work with RP2 and IC2 tools makes it a little bit annoying.
-
You can always use DM or RM tools from Equivalent Exchange, I feel like if you're not using Equivalent Exchange to just get stuff out of nothing, its something fair for some tools and such, just right click on the tree and bam, you got it all... Maybe a little bit powerful for some, but it get the job done quick and easy, also very good if you're building your base in the middle of a forest...

Make sure its not caused by conflicting IDs, there's a thread not so far on this board, I got it running smooth after some minor ID resolving. Just make sure you get the appropriate version from mcportcentral for the recent tekkit 3.1.2 you have to get the 1.4.8.6 for BC2.2.14 and Forge 3.3.8 same thing for the client, once you get the ID resolved, simply copy the config folder forestry to your client folder and you should be running smooth, don't forget to take out the forestry folder from the EE2ClientV1.4.5.1.jar in your tekkit client mods folder (its a different name for the server can't remember but start with EE in your server mods folder too)

How do you use the MFFS ID Card and the MFFS Link Card?
Dodge34 replied to VideoBoy's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Perhaps youtube can give some answers, I know Direwolf20 is using MFFS in his Season 3 to protect his nuclear reactor and also made some spotlights on it I think, this may help you to understand how they work, Season 3 of Direwolf is using MC1.1 but the stuff seem to be the same for most of the mods (some recipes could have changed for some stuff) -
Interesting glitch to increse power output by 200% or more
Dodge34 replied to Dravenkai's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You're lucky enough that the teleport pipes are working, can't use any of them it crash either my server and my client or only one of them, and if by chance I can configure one set properly before it crash, I won't be able to get back to the area they were placed, good thing I've done some test on a test server and not on my actual real server with theses. -
Yup world copy could be great if it is allowed to have some here, that would be awesome.

Upgraded to 3.1.2, now lots of console spam [FIX INSIDE]
Dodge34 replied to Plutonium239's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Thanks a lot for this fix, already planning on upgrading my server to 3.1.2 on friday afternoon, got a testing server running on my testing machine and everything looks great so far. -
How did you fix it ??? That could help some people to know what you did to fix it.
-
Maybe towny can prevent any interaction in a zone if you're not a resident of the zone, not sure it would protect from that exploit but if it can prevent anyone that is not a resident from adding any blocks or any material in a zone, it should prevent pipes from being added to a chest in a towny area...
-
I see a MFFS war coming soon if there's no ways for server OPs to bypass or restrict the use of that thing (maybe using towny or any bukkit plugin like Izone or Residence) it could get dangerous, griefers could have a load of fun with that. It would be sad to see that go away cause it looks awesome but if nothing can bypass and restrict the zone of a MFFS for the regular players I feel this mod will get deleted from my server before even starting to use it.

Is there any reason to have NEI enabled server-side?
Dodge34 replied to VideoBoy's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Maybe the author of NEI is somehow a griefer/cheater friend (he programmed a cheating mode in his mod so he must be somehow a cheater) so he doesn't want to fix that thing so people can cheat and grief easy on many servers that have it installed and the owners are unaware of this fix. -

Dodge34 replied to VideoBoy's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Not really used anyways, if I really need something I can check the ID of it in NEI and do the /I ItemID number of items desired then bam, I got them nice and easy. -

Dodge34 replied to VideoBoy's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
So if I use Essentials to control time and weather, the NEI server mod isn't really needed right ??? Magnet mod for me is the Black Hole Band or I don't understand what it really is. -
Can the Buildcraft mod within Tekkit 3.1.+ be updated?
Dodge34 replied to LaliPops's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
There is a BuildCraft3 SMP Bukkit port, but avoid it at all costs, tried that and there's so much troubles there and don't expect the problems to be fixed in there cause the devs of Buldcraft have to make it 1.3 compatible, they won't even think about touching the 1.2.5 version compatible for awhile since that would require a split of the team since the code will be a total rewrite for the 1.3, so any mods that haven't finished debugging for the 1.2.5 won't receive any kind of update for at least till the devs get a working 1.3 version out for most of them I'm quite sure, either that or some people will constantly harass devs for a working version for 1.3 so they will either have to do it right now or loose a load of players. -

I'm not sure why its even in the Tekkit server pack either, I'm curious to know why its in the server pack of Tekkit, anyone here can tell us why its there, its not even needed for the recipe mode that still works fine if you got NEI on the client side.
