It doesn't set RAM usage as a min number, it sets it as a MAX number. Ideally it should never use anywhere close to your max of 4. In some cases setting more ram can be a bad thing, because the game wont garbage collect properly since it has more room to let shit build up. Then you eventually crap out because it finally hits the cap and tries to dump all at once. That's why you sometimes hear people saying they get better performance when they allocate less memory. MC is very much a game where you have to play around with the settings and see what works for you. It's different for everyone.

Well uh. No. Some peoples computers are more powerful then other peoples. That is the case. Something you can try: While playing, hit escape and go to Options -> video settings -> Other... -> and click the button that says "Load Far" so that it says "Yes". This makes it so that the game loads a larger amount of chunks around you so that you get less visual lag when turning around and moving. Improved my framerate a lot. Unfortunately, Millenaire is a beast. Most of the lag people get is from loading new chunks near a fresh village, or working and moving around near one in progress.

You've got a virus or some kind of malaware on your computer that is redirecting you away from minecraft.net when you try to go there. Do you have any anti-virus at all? Google "Microsoft Security Essentials" and use that. Hopefully it will clean your machine and remove that virus and you'll be able to connect to minecraft.net again. I'm going to laugh if you got the virus by trying to download things to let you play minecraft without paying.

We do not do this so you can lay back and pirate a game without having to do any work. If you want to use something without paying for it, you do your own god damn work. So in that case, you've broken the forums rule about piracy discussion and asking for help to play technic with a pirate account on these forums. You've also tried to trick the administration and circumvent the previously stated rule. Go ahead and explain to me why I shouldn't ban you.

But honstely that would mean it's been some amount of time since you last entered it which means you don't play minecraft very often. No one who plays minecraft goes for a long enough time without playing to forget their passes. No one has "kind of" bought the game. Edit: Yeah called it. Nice try bud.

Re: Launcher fail Make sure you've got the current version of the launcher. A new version became available recently. Also, things are not "fail" here. Read the rules.

You can in fact allocate more ram from within the launcher on a mac as well as a PC. It is literally the same since it's a Java program. It's in the Options. Just click the button. Did you not wonder about the options button and what it did?

Glad you were able to locate it. Personally I just drag the folder to the sidebar in finder and drop it in the "Places" section to make a shortcut.

There are many MANY reasons to do it this way, and if you don't understand why, go educate yourself.
