Johndude. Please look around and use search to see if other people are having a similar issue instead of making a new thread without much information. It sounds like a java issue. Make sure Java is up to date and the correct version for your OS. If you have a 64 bit OS, you need 64 bit java. If you have a 32 bit OS you need 32 bit java. If you still have a java issue after this and you're using the .exe, switch to using the .jar. Even if you read this, go look around for more information on these forums.

Offline mode is brand new. It's possible that it's buggy but it also might just be that since vanilla minecraft doesn't really have an offline mode that follows any sort of logic, ours is forced to use mojangs poor implementation of it. Time will tell on that, there might be a few bugs to iron out, but for sure regular minecraft doesn't give you the option to turn it on or off either if I remember correctly. (Admittedly, I haven't even touched the regular minecraft client in ages so I don't know if this is still true. It's all launcher all the time for me baby 8))

Feedback and discussion for my comics on the Yogscast. (Hint: Mine are the ones that say Cheap Shot) I'm an amature artist and I do all the graphical work for the technic pack. My main job right now is drawing comics for the yogscast. It's a huge learning experience for me, and I'm not really a writer so it's difficult to come up with comics. Yeah like I said, no worries. We do this because we want to. Technic is too good an experience not to share, and with the launcher we now have something we can offer that is unique. If the cost of offering that ever gets too high, we can just put a small passive ad somewhere and I'm sure it will help keep us going. We're not worried about the cost. The most important thing is the talent. The awesome people who work with us on the team, and the great mods in the pack. Losing those would be worse then any amount we spend to keep this going.

Naw don't you worry about it. The majority of that traffic is launcher downloads and whatnot. Post to your hearts content! What's the point of upgrading to this giant awesome server to host everything if people don't use it.

We're not going to accept donations ourselves, ever probably, if it's technic related. Maybe a small ad in the information section on the launcher? Currently it's just being used for a forums link and a big empty white space. I can't think of anything else really, but we're loath to subject people to ads. If we keep getting a Terabyte of bandwidth a week though, welp!

We needed to upgrade to a non-shared hosting plan just to handle the launcher downloads and site traffic. Man oh man is that ever expensive.

Ugh. You're not even getting....what...ugh. Go trouble shoot or update. You're getting errors, probably because your computer is configured wrong. This thread is to find someone to help pinpoint general performance issue, not find out why you're getting error messages. You didn't even post your computers specs like the OP requests. Why would you post in here without reading the whole OP?

Well, we're looking for someone who currently has the bug so we can track it, but if you want to share your fix or any information please do. Go ahead and use this thread.

We are looking to solve the lag issues some people are having, but we need (a) tester(s) who are experiencing the problem to help us isolate the cause. The problem we face is that most of us don't even have the issue. We're going to need at least one or two people who are willing to help out for a short time. What we are looking for: -Someone who experiences very poor FPS after a few minutes of gameplay. -Someone who has knowledge and experience working with computers (intelligence) -Someone who can follow instructions without confusion We'd need you to run a program to track minecrafts CPU and memory usage and then share the results with our launcher coder Agelian. We are going to be VERY picky about who we take, and will probably only choose one or two people. If you can help us and are qualified, please post here with your computers specs and OS. I wouldn't worry about it. As far as I know it wont be long now. Tekkit release is our main priority atm.

First off. There IS a "no optifine" build. Way to look around first! Searching the forums will probably help you find how to access it (however it might just be easier to explore the launcher a little bit before coming in here to complain). Second off, what do you base your assumption on? Optifine has a lot of settings that can actually increase performance. Have you tried playing with your in game settings at all? Technic includes several very big and cpu heavy mods. Minecraft itself has always been a very inefficient and unoptimized game that can bring even gaming rigs to their knees. Skyrim on max runs better then minecraft on my computer. You think that adding on a heap of mods to it wont slow things down a little? Play around with your settings. All of them. It's never the same for everyone so change one thing and see if it helps, then change another, etc. I personally had luck going into options->video settings->other-> and turning "Load Far" on. Don't come in here and post angry faces and tell us to fix everything because it doesn't work well for you specifically, if you're not willing to put in a little work.

People, you're not listening. You must be doing something horribly wrong because that is "impossible". The launcher has nothing to do with .minecraft. Never even touches it or goes near it or knows it exists. The only reason you log in with the launcher is so we don't have to break MC's TOS and package any MC .jars. You literally get the files you need directly from mojang. .minecraft or the minecraft client are never involved ever.
