It's trying to download from the wrong location. You're using an out of date launcher. Delete your .techniclauncher folder and download the latest launcher. That should fix your problem. edit: Oh actually, the second log is different. It looks like we need to fix something. Should be an easy fix. One of the download sources has been going down is the problem. We can change it so it doesn't rely on that I believe. Agelian is putting together a test jar for you to use. If you'd be so kind as to test it for us we can see if it fixes your problem and then commit it.

EE keeps changing shit every time it updates unfortunately. It's made old saves incompatible with the current technic. You need to not even try to put old saves into the launcher folder. They won't work. That's all the help I can give you since you provided so little info.

You're getting an ID conflict, which shouldn't happen at all. You've altered your .technicpack in some way. I'm guessing you've tried adding another mod? You're going to have to fix that ID conflict if you want it to work.

That's not as easy as just adding a vanilla option. I doubt it'll happen, since there's a million other things we have to get to. Feel free to try and do it yourselves. If you have success you can share the process with everyone else (as long as you don't post any downloads to anything.)

Even so, it's against our forums rules to discuss this so please don't. We don't object to you pirating the game or trying to use technic with your pirated game, but talking about doing so here on our forums puts us in an uncomfortable position. There is plenty of other internet to discuss that in. We are not going to put in a load of extra work so that people who pirated the game don't have to. If you want to play the game for free, you're going to have to be willing to put in some effort. When people ask us for this, they are really asking this: "Could you break the law for me? I don't want to have to do it myself." Does that not sound odd?

See, we're currently adding offline mode, and then idiots like this really make us not want to.

No. The launcher is bad? Ok, why? You haven't said anything here. The new launcher is actually good. Not bad. The new launcher simplifies the process of installing technic to literally button clicks. The new launcher lets you switch between techinc and tekkit and in near future the yogbox as well without having to manage different profiles yourself and spend hours swapping around files. The new launcher lets us fix things and apply the fixes without you having to do any work at all. It lets us update the mods to their current versions immediately so you can play them when they come out, instead of having to wait for all of them to update and be put together in a release version months later. It lets people preview the development builds if they so choose. It prevents people from accidentally updating minecraft to a version incompatible with the installed modpacks. And most importantly it is still being developed and new functionality and features are being added as we speak. Things like the ability to select what mods you want before you download among other things. It even lets us easily test out versions of technic without optifine to see if it causes that bad lag issue. So why is it bad exactly? Could it be you have just made assumptions based off nothing? Perhaps that you're blaming a bug with optifine on the launcher itself, which was laboriously built by very hard working people who gave and give almost all their free time for nothing, just so it's easier for you to play a video game with mods? I wonder if that's it. Please do explain. You're not the first person who has made a pointless no content thread like this trashing the new launcher without even understanding a thing about it. Most of those people didn't like it because it made it harder for them to play minecraft illegally. They all ended up banned. So whats your problem with it? You have given exactly 0 shreds of information to make this thread worth reading.

If the button doesn't work for some reason, go to your .techniclauncher folder and find the texturepacks folder and put it in there. It will be in a folder called technicSSP for the single player version.

AVG is better then Norton, but I feel like its too obtrusive. A real bloated beast. I have no idea what the best is though. I just stick with what works well enough (and is free).

Also, go into that "logs" folder and copy and paste everything in the document that ends in "0", go to http://pastebin.com and paste it there, then post the link. It's a good first step toward getting help here.
