OP: I am going to assume you mean Update Fails... If that is the case, you need to turn off AVG and redownload the pack. Sakii, if you have a similar problem and the solutions in the COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS sticky don't work, you should post your own bug report.

Do you mean you are getting a message in Game that is telling you your mods are out of date? Or is it a message from the Launcher that tells you there is an update available?

It looks like you are using Java 7. AFAIK, the launcher on macs needs Java 6 to run. From what I hear, it is pretty complicated to do but there is a thread around here with detailed instructions.

Short answer no. Long answer to follow... EDIT: The major issue is the Block ID's. They are different in the two mod packs so if you were to simply move your saves folder, you would have mixed up blocks and many items would be broken or the wrong item. The second major issue is the difference in mods. Technic has many more mods than Tekkit and often they have differences in the update versions. (Technic may have a mod that is version 1 but Tekkit has already updated to version 2)

I used bitdefender for a while and it worked fine. Never had any issues with it (other than the fact that it cost money).

Sounds like an issue with ID Resolver. Try disabling any AV's and firewalls then redownloading the pack.

Honestly, if you don't like it, turn it off/don't use it. Why would you exclude the people who do want it just because there are people who don't. It is much easier to remove it from the pack, than it is to add it.

Try posting your own bug report.

It is the same as if you were putting them into the minecraft.jar (Extract them)

If you get past the Mojang screen you should post in the Modpack Boards. Try pressing "o" though.
