1. The technic launcher doesn't give you the ability to -install skins-, but rather to only view the characters you saved. To change your skin, you'll have to visit Minecraft.net FYI: Technic launcher uses your Minecraft.net credentials, they don't have their own. It's merely the hub for supported mods.
2. Logic is a bitch.
3. Why remove mods when the server administrators have the option to remove them? More options means less limits, and less limits = More freedom of choice. I disagree with removing it completely - I agree with disabling it however.
4. With 2GB of ram you'll be fine with 10 people. However I suggest at -least- 4GB for a smooth server with a 20less player peak.
5. The password is what turned me away, he didn't put my favorite number > : O
6. I've been on this server for a fair ammount of time, past the required for earning Trusted rank. I've got less time to play on it now provided that my server is kicking public soon, however I can assure anyone that their time is well assured to be spent on this server. Professional and Chill staff, and a one of a kind community. Good luck Tekkify, you're doing great!
7. You posted this in the wrong place kiddo, correct section: http://www.technicpack.net/forums/forums/open-servers.28/ ProTip: You'll get denied asap, alot more work will be needed than just the IP address. Read the rules of posting servers first!
8. Let's hope of nothing bad : P
9. Stay tuned in these sections of the forums for a topic under the name of Antrio. You'll find your time well spent on the tekkit server we're concluding in the next couple of days featuring a plethora of plugins.
10. Even more so, reported to the developer for fix.
11. I'm running a private community with a peak of 70, providing 24 Gigs of ram under AMDs OP. I'd suggest 4 Gigs of ram to get on the safe side along with a dual core intel processor no less than 2.4 Ghz
12. Just discovered this on my server, damn you for getting to posting this before me : P
13. A seed is not what the person needs to connect to, it's the external IP Address of the computer your server is running off of. Also, You'll have to open a port for TCP in order to accept incoming connections. To be able to use chat commands, you'll need to grant yourself permissions to use them. There are different groups you can add in a permissions file, than adding the permissions to the group you want them to be capable of using. Lookup PermissionsEx at Bukkit.org As for opping, type the following into the console "op [username]" ____ Most of this which I assume you probably don't understand, provided you just started. Feel free to add me on skype @ jack.tremor, I'm more than helpful in settup up servers for them noobies : D
14. I can't tell from the logs what is wrong, however I recommend that you talk to the actual hosting company first. I think it has something to do with Multicraft, can't take my word for it though.
15. He most likely has access to your console. Or the password to your actual in-game account. And yes, it is possible to mirror the console, without showing who opped who. Have you checked your ops.txt just to see if anyone else is in there? Also, I suggest you talk to your hosting company about providing IP logs of who's logging into your Control Panel at what time. If they can't, I suggest going to a different hosting company with better security. For me, I whitelist by IP who can access the CP. And it's not the program from the video from what I can tell, since it doesn't show the console opping him.
16. It's still a tool that helps diagnose, for someone who runs their own server, I'm surprized. It's one way to see if it's just your connection or the server. Little, still useful.
17. Cannot run program "backup.sh": error=2, No such file or directory Perhaps you should actually look at your log files.
18. I don't find that normal.. Have you checked your logs for anything not where it should be displayed during the process of the backup?
19. Which locations is there access to your console? Perhaps someone has access to your account with the host provider.. Or perhaps you allow cracked version to connection, which allows one to log in under your account?
20. Aha.. Oh the humor in this thread.
21. SpaceBukkit or McMyAdmin, both server administration software with one of the best graphical interface have their own backup utility from what I can recall.. I'd say give that run for your back up. If you server only freezes for a few seconds, there isn't much you can do besides update your hardware. Perhaps you can be a little more descriptive?
22. Doesn't have to be for multiple worlds, I'd say it's the most convenient plugin for world generation period. Something he's looking for : )
23. You have to realize that there's about 40 mods in this pack, so it will take time for all to update.
24. Great for thermal power, however the blocks are mostly used for decoration. Along with marble.
25. Disable Mining Laser, it can bypass almost all protection, and it doesn't record who used it, but rather saying the explosion message you get. In-fact, I recomend using the "NoItem" plugin to prevent crafting of it. Rather than disabling the whole modification. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/noitem/
