  1. the only limit on number of maps is the space available on your HDD. so while the program itself has no built in limit, there is a technical one. in practice though you're probably never going to hit it.
  2. This topic has been moved to General Tekkit SMP. [iurl]http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=10518.0[/iurl]
  3. speed is nice, but if you're gonna try and tell people what to do, at least use the right terms and spell them right. I believe, "thread" was the word you were looking for, which doesn't even fit in that context. OP, despite word choice problems, he's right. you're more likely to get a response in the general tekkit section. in fact, after I go check to make sure you haven't reposted already, I'll move this topic for you.
  4. this is patently false. with the removal of forestry, all mods in the pack are approved to be there by their respective authors now according to kaker, who I'm more inclined to believe than you. hell, pahimar often drops by the technic IRC. so no, there's nothing "illiegal" about the pack, even more so at this point. I do find it telling that the LPer felt the need to come here and register just to say, "hey guys, I am totally ignoring you! you hear me? I said I'm ignoring you! I mean it! I don't even care, really! I'm going to keep disliking you too! we're not friends anymore! someone love me, please?" if that's how he tries to stir people up, he's really bad at it.
  5. it's true. I'll never be the same. kaker told me I had to address him only as "donglord, the dick administrators," and then I blacked out. I'm not sure my ass will ever fully recover. cheapshot told me later that it was like goatse and lemonparty at the same time. this was completely not needed.
  6. this is a block ID conflict. if you're getting this, try reinstalling.
  7. wrong section, but I will forgive you and move it because you actually used the right format, and that's a rare thing. your problem is that your player hooked a BC wooden pipe up to an energy condenser. this is known to cause problems. if you can use MCedit to find and remove the condenser, you can use the world again. btw, for those of you following along at home, if you take away the post signing, this is how you report a bug. if everyone provided the info that this guy just did, they'd have their answers in no time flat too, most likely.
  8. This topic has been moved to Tekkit BUG BOARD. [iurl]http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=10112.0[/iurl]
  9. the thing in the sticky labeled "required reading". the one you should have read already. this error is 100% always due to not being run with java 7. the 1 and only solution is using java 7 because that is the only cause of the issue. if you installed 7 and then still got the error, you were not running the server with the right version of java. also, moving to the bug board, where this belongs.
  10. try looking in modpack.jar and see what you come up with. no idea if that will actually help any, but it's worth a shot.
  11. check out the report format sticky again, it has the directions for finding your log. if there is nothing there or that location simply doesn't exist, let us know.
  12. be sure to keep us posted on your progress, I'm sure there are others who will find it very useful.
  13. you're welcome. enjoy.
  14. you can easily make a batch file that you can run from anywhere. alternatively you can just use the full path in the argument to java. either way, the line you'll need will be this: java -jar %appdata%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar put that in a .bat file for the batch file route, which will give a handy icon you can just use to start the launcher from anywhere or put it right into the run box and it'll work too.
  15. before you blow your computer away and reimage or whatever, hold up a second. you're just putting that into the start -> run box, aren't you? if you want it to not close instantly, open up cmd.exe, navigate to %appdata%\.techniclauncher and run that command again in the command window, not from the run box. it won't go away. let me know what you get edit: I'll even give you the commands to get there: cd %appdata%\.techniclauncher java -jar technic-launcher.jar give it a shot.
  16. that's generally how you would do it. what exactly happens when you try to run that command? please don't say "nothing" because SOMETHING has got to get printed to the console
  17. the most hilarious part of this is that he posted this on the tekkit subreddit as well. I wonder if he will be mad at how lazy the reddit crowd is, too. also, this thread is now about one of the best EDs ever
  18. were you like, "baybay, baybay, baybay, nooooo"?
  19. in the center of the sun. good luck.
  20. it means you didn't listen to a damn thing you were told in your OTHER thread about this. do you have some kind of condition that prevents you from reading the important parts of text? at what point in time did you decide that "post first, read later" was a really swell way to operate? I am giving you some time to think on these things. I suggest that you use it wisely, but I have little hope that you will.
  21. this never, ever ends well. get your friend to do it himself, and make sure both of you have read the stickies FIRST, at least the report format one so you know how to make a bug report. if you don't do this you/your friend will be probated, laughed at, and he'll still have the same problem he started with.
  22. you can say that again.

    white

are you even serious? for real? I mean, at least you provided a log, but just a log and the word "white" does not a report make. I was actually helping you in the other thread but I had not seen this one at the time. I think you really need to step back and come to grips with the fact that ESP does not exist and no one on these forums can use it to read your goddamn mind.
  24. get your firewall/anti-virus to stop screwing with the launcher to start. next, make sure the launcher can write to its own folder. again, if you've got over-protective AV software, this can happen.
  25. hold up, absolutely no messages appear when you run it from the command line? literally not a single error, line of text, or anything? really? I'm not talking about just what you might think is important, I mean anything at all whatsoever. no matter how meaningless it may seem. java.exe is the one you want to use, btw. when you go to run the .jar from the command line, what are you putting in?
