  1. 10-1 AVG is the culprit. for whatever reason, AVG absolutely hates the technic launcher and will prevent it from working even when disabled with java added as an exception. uninstall it and see if that helps.
  2. that's one hell of a backwards way of explaining it then. either way, the answer is no.
  3. I have no idea what you're talking about
  4. hey, at least you got a clue in the end and your problem is fixed. could be worse.
  5. generally, when this happens it's due to the PC trying to stay in some kind of power saver mode because it doesn't realize the minecraft is actually a real game. see if you can force your graphics drivers to always use full power mode or something like that for java.exe. I have no idea how it is done for AMD cards though, sadly.
  6. you probably have a firewall problem, then.
  7. is this on a laptop, by any chance?
  8. you won't be able to connect to a hack/mine server with tekkit. even if you could, a lot of stuff would be broken and/or crash you most likely.
  9. man the harpoons, we're going to the whale box!
  10. give the .jar a shot and see if it works.
  11. hold up, is that really the unedited launch.bat that is currently bundled with the server? because I just took a look and it's not. your specific problem is that you are not giving a proper path to anything in that command. 2 things: 1) the path is C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java not C:\program files\java\bin 2) it needs to be in quotes, like "C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java" -whatever -blah -jar tekkit.jar nogui elkstone, give me a log file that proves you also wrote your own batch file, had no idea what you were doing, and got the path wrong. you've got 2 hours. if not, I'm probating you for being completely useless to this discussion. I swear to god if there's one thing that grinds my gears more than any other it is "I have the same problem!" posts when 99% of the time you do NOT have the same problem and they include no logs or anything. edit: time's up. have a nice vacation.
  12. it's not getting old nearly as fast as people who don't read before posting problems that no one can solve due to lack of concrete information.
  13. there's a thread for mod suggestions and this isn't it.
  14. Re: Esder scrolls MMO well I'm sure SOME people will like it. some people still like the original EQ, or UO, or runescape, or <insert any mmo ever here>. I really don't have high hopes for it personally. I enjoyed skyrim, but I would not want an MMO elder scrolls game. who knows, maybe it'll be good but I'm not holding my breath.
  15. that would be the second one then, on accident. carry on.
  16. you get the server from the tekkit link on the front page. I'm going to give you a little bit of advice though: if you plan on setting up a server, learn to read a LOT before asking questions. chances are that you will run into errors and those errors are already solved in stickies on these forums. if your reading skills remain at the level of, "hay guise, where to get server kthx!?" then you will make a stupid post and you will probably get kellered if not banned. don't be that guy.
  17. that's nice, but it doesn't help the OP's problem any. unless you want to mail them your computer or something.
  18. I think I've figured out what it is about your posts that really does not sit well with me, jokser. what you write always comes so close to being actual english but falls short so it is like the uncanny valley of grammar. because of this, whenever you "argue" for/against something it's extremely hard to tell just what you are saying and it confuses the people you're talking to/with. not sure if that's on purpose or by accident though.
  19. if you were willing to write a custom andriod app and special drivers JUST to get the mic in the phone to work with the PC, it might be doable. however, it would not be any better quality than the mics you have dismissed as total shit. it would be exactly the same if not worse. not only that it would take ungodly amounts of time to create the software for it. unless your time has absolutely 0 value to you, you're better off just getting a simple headset. you don't have to go buy some crazy ass surround sound $150 headset, $30-$40 will get you an OK logitec headset that will work great.
  20. how about running the .jar? the .exe launcher is known to simply not work on 32-bit machines.
  21. a handful of vocal idiots does not most modders make. putting that aside, this is the wrong place for suggested additions to the launcher. btw, there really isn't a place for it.
  22. yourhis browser opens when trying to run a .jar? sounds like you'rehe's a real winner. have him try right click -> open with... -> java to run the jar.
  23. google nothing, try the fucking stickies at the top of this section. :argh:
  24. the .jar isn't in winrar format. it's a jar. by definition it's readable by winrar. want to know why? because a jar is a j(ava r)ar. jar. your file associations are just a little wonky and windows is defaulting to winrar to open it instead of java. try right click -> open with... and see if java is an option. if it's not, select other progams and tell it to open with java.exe which should be found at c:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe
