  1. I noticed that, I don't think anyone is gonna go for that. You gotta pay 10K AND then figure out how your gonna get there. Did you notice that someone has given them 5K and someone else gave 2K?
  2. Really, that's all you need? That's really good. I, on the other hand, am using 1.7 TB's of disc space right now. I like not having to manage which games I have installed, manage my downloads folder, or anything like that. I know one of my games in particular takes something like 16 gigs.
  3. It can come sooner than you think. I paid for almost all of my first computer with money I made mowing my neighbor's lawns. Gas is more expensive now so it might take you longer, but you could still do it. Or, if your smart, you could charge classmates for doing their homework. Don't get caught though That feeling of accomplishment when you get that hard earned gaming machine is worth the effort, I think so anyway. Those angled SATA ports on the motherboard are awesome! I had a GTS 250 on my old machine and the dang heatsink on it covered half my SATA ports. I could only have 4 TB's of disk space!
  4. Oh man, how can you guys stand playing games on those machines? It saddens me to think of how you all must be experiencing Minecraft. I hope you are able to upgrade before those computers fall completely apart. I feel very spoiled now.
  5. The picture looks pretty nice, where would you be using it? I think it is too white for display on a webpage with similar colors to this one but could look good on a page with a different scheme. Did you make the whole picture yourself or modify a base image? I can't give any good feedback about the video, since all I see is a green screen (probably an issue on my end, been happening recently). The music played though and that was ok. It isn't exactly my style and goes poorly with my headache but perhaps it goes perfectly with the video I can't see. EDIT: I was able to see the video in SMPlayer. The music fits well to the visuals in the video I feel. I did notice that your character's hand was flickering when you were using the macerator and the furnace, it distracted me. Also, the 5-6 seconds that you just stared at the computer block seemed a little long to me, was that filler to get to a certain point in the song by the end of the video? I especially liked the visuals in the opening ~12 seconds and the buildup in the music just before you open the reactor GUI.
  6. Is this related to the "mod_IC2AdvancedMachines : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0" error? There is a fix for that one. Surely there is a better solution than just removing the advanced machines completely. What "long" error are you talking about?
  7. Windows XP: C:\Users\<User Name>\%AppData%\.techniclauncher Windows Vista and 7: C:\Users\<User Name>\%AppData%\Roaming\.techniclauncher Mac: Users\<User Name>\Library\Application Support\.techniclauncher Inside the .techniclauncher folder you will find folders named "technicssp" and/or "tekkit". Open the one that matches the pack you saved your world with and you will find your saved worlds in a folder named "saves". There will be a folder for each world that you have saved, just send that to your friend.
  8. Re: Crashes: custom_recipes.txt recipe #1 error:null, null Glad I could help you resolve your issue.
  9. Re: Crashes: custom_recipes.txt recipe #1 error:null, null The error on startup is fine, I get that on my server also and everything works fine. It looks like it happens because only slot 13 has a custom recipe for it to load. The other error is because you are playing in creative mode, it doesn't work right with Tekkit. You have to use NEI to spawn items, putting stuff on your hotbar while in creative mode causes those crashes you are seeing. If you don't know how to turn on item spawning with NEI, read the following thread: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,1513.0.html
  10. Ever hear of this thing called "Google"? It helps you answer questions like this really quickly. http://www.computerhope.com/batch.htm The link above is the first result of a search for "Batch File" on Google. It tells you what it is and even tells you how to make one.
  11. They say they will do this and your mother won't even consider it? See if you can get a cost estimate for paying someone to redo the cabling. If you can clearly show that it is better to switch maybe she will cave. Maybe you should show her how to stream movies and tell her that for only another five pounds a month she could watch an UNLIMITED amount of movies. Or you could tell her that the old wiring is in danger of shorting out and killing you both in a hellish firestorm. That might do it too. EDIT: I just realized that you said TO the house not IN the house for the free wiring upgrade. The hellish firestorm thing could still work but now you can work lightning strikes into the story too or birdcrap, that stuff took out a gas station near my grandparents. You could say the wires could fall down and a spark could ignite the natural gas lines to you house. She could be responsible for the entire neighborhood exploding!
  12. Can't you at least try to find the answer? http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,2696.0.html People are far less likely to help when you don't even try.
  13. I know, I can already feel it happening but I can't stay away from here. I think it's some kind of morbid curiosity thing.
  14. What is your favorite browser extension? Anybody got a cool one that they want to share? I like FireGestures for Firefox. It lets you map functions like: back, new tab, and close window to gestures you make with your mouse. After just a little while, the gestures become instinctual. This is very beneficial at certain times, like when I am looking at porn and someone walks into the room. I can shout "What's that over there!" whilst pointing wildly in a distracting manner and hide the porn with my other hand. Menu Editor is a close second. Being able to hid those functions that I never use is amazing, especially when another extension adds even more stuff to the context menu. EDIT: Removed a stupid word.
  15. Really? Your friend is bragging exploiting a bug? Anyway, I found several links on how to do it from a quick search on Google just now, there was even a thread mentioning how to do it on this very forum. You're SO close to the information you want. You shouldn't look this up though, it will just ruin your enjoyment of the game. You should sabotage your friends duplicated stuff instead!
  16. If you want any help then read the following thread: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,2797.0.html The next one tells you how to get the version numbers. forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4191.0.html You're lucky I still feel like helping people, most of the regulars have gotten tired of terrible posts like this from what I have seen so far.
  17. Do you mean that it makes a whole stack at once or it consumes the whole stack at once? I am not able to determine which one you mean. Either way, I haven't encountered this. I can't see your awesome picture either You should know that the way you posted this information is not useful. Please include version numbers in the future. Also, the information required to get these numbers is on the forums if you happen to need it.
  18. More information would be helpful, I believe you are supposed to use the bug reporting format, which can be found in the following link: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,2797.0.html Did you look at the "Common Problems and Solutions" thread? http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4191.0.html A probable fix for your problem is listed there. It basically says that the launcher needs a 64 bit operating system (OS) and version of Java. If you have a 32 bit OS then it says to use the .jar located in the ".techniclauncher" folder. If you have a 64 bit OS then ensure that you are also have the 64 bit version of Java installed. The "Common Problems and Solutions" thread will tell you how to check your Java version. Without you providing further details I do not think you can get a clearer answer and at least read around a LITTLE bit next time. I mean, the thread title is highlighted in orange and is in all CAPS.
  19. Are you sure? Their website listed the cap as 250Gig since at least four or so years ago and has the few times I have checked since then. I first checked it about four years ago when I found out that there was a cap. Also, there are only two ISPs that we can get at my house, Comcast or Centurylink. Comcast costs more and has a cap but Centurylink kept charging us for stuff that wasn't ours and for the first two months our connection quality was terrible.
  20. I am located in the north-western United States. I've only seen speeds like Iths is getting on a business line. Since my ISP (Comcast) has a monthly cap of 250 Gigs, faster isn't always better. I already had to shut our connection off a couple times since certain people in the house don't know how to moderate their usage despite repeated explanations of how to do it and why.
  21. Those are crazy numbers! That download speed is getting close to what I get inside my LAN. My results aren't nearly as good Did you run this from work or something? I don't know of any consumer grade connections offered that are anywhere near this.
  22. You posted this again? I see you didn't include any more information either. What have you tried to resolve your problem? Are there any errors in the logs? Are the mods installed correctly on the server? Are you sure that there isn't a version mismatch between the client mod and the server one (probably not it but couldn't hurt to check)? Can you craft other machines from that mod (singularity compressor is one I believe)? Do your other mods work?
  23. You should read the rules before a moderator bans you. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4903.0.html Asking for an ETA is listed as a minor infraction.
  24. That was amusing, thank you. It made me laugh and now everybody in the room is looking at me :)
  25. I have not used MCmyadmin before but for backups I have been using a plugin called "Backup" Link: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/backup/ It has worked perfect for me so far, I have had to restore from the backups it makes several times and it is quick and easy. It lets you pick the interval you want backups done in (minutes, hours, days, or weeks) and by default doesn't make backups when the server is empty. It compresses the world, nether, and end files into separate, timestamped .zip files in folders like: <world> and <world>_nether, so you can restore only the part you need. It cycles through whatever number of backups you want to retain. I have also been using "RemoteToolkit": http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/admn-remotetoolkit-r10-a13-restarts-crash-detection-auto-saves-remote-console-1-2-3.674/page-13 RemoteToolkit will restart your server automatically in the event of a crash and allows you to schedule periodic restarts and automatically warn the players before the server restarts. It has Telnet support for remote administration but you shouldn't use it. It has worked nicely for me so far. I should mention that the server I run only has a total of three players, counting myself. I do not know how these perform on a larger, more active server. The backups in particular may cause problems, I have 61 hours backed up so far and they are taking ~5 gigs of space.
