B-b-but disenchanting is coooooool. :( :(

Yeah, genning a ton of chunks on a server while you're trying to run a game there sure does use a lot of CPU and HDD. Hmmm... Please explain exactly what the point of that page was, in detail. I'm glad to hear you're not using it to do incredibly shady bullshit ANYMORE. EDIT: SHIT HE WAS BANNED I don't think I've ever said "oh hes mad cause his server is crashing" or anything like that. But fuck yes I'll say "you didn't pregen". How could a server with 70 players all genning chunks simultaneously even THEORETICALLY work out? If the answer is "it couldn't", then the answer to your problem is A. pregen chunks or B. maybe 70 players is too big for a hexxit server where the admin isn't willing to pregen chunks. 100% of hexxit servers don't crash every 10-20 minutes, we've been running an open list hexxit server with 10-20 players logged in since launch with no real crashing to speak of. 100% of hexxit servers that gen a fucked up chunk crash every time the chunk loads, which with 70 players is almost certainly every 10-20 minutes IF your map gets jacked. I feel for people with this issue, because it's a nag and I'm working actively to fix it. But sitting around on your couch going " hexxit crashes" after you've been offered solutions is lazy horseshit and maybe you shouldn't be running a 70 player server for cash if that's going to be your response.

I want to make a few things clear for those who aren't Zilacon, worst human being. I take the lag issues very seriously and the crash issues very seriously. I'm doing everything I can to seek a solution. That SAID, there's not much I can do about worldgen lag. If it's gonna be a problem, pregen your world. ESPECIALLY if you're running a large playercap server, you need to pregen your world. The BD-related lag which I think is due to AI flipping out, is a different matter, I take that very seriously, but don't come crying to me about worldgen lag. There's nothing I can do about it, and there's stuff you can do about it.

So I've finally gone over this thread, filled with excellent reading material and I've found a few key issues here: 1. You're too fucking stupid to pregen your world. What the fuck is wrong with you? This would solve practically all of the issues you're describing- even the crash issues in BD, which I am working my ass off to fix in a way that doesn't require us to wait on Chocolatin to put out a new version and doesn't get Technic eaten alive by the Modders Rights crew, are issues that occur rarely during worldgen and either are or are not on your map. You could pregen your world, and if there was a crash, wipe the world and pregen a new one. Use BorderGuard or some shit to stop players from going outside the genned area. You'd have your server up and running, no crashes, no gen lag, by the end of the weekend. But you're so HOT HOT HOT HOT to make cash off the pack that you just throw your shit up on a server and are surprised when 90 people exploring on a worldgen-heavy pack bring the server down. This is part of the long list of things in this thread that are Not My Fucking Problem. This is Bukkit Server 101 shit, btw, so I'm not sure why I'm taking the time to explain it to you. 2. If you want to take the reins and make your own awesome technic platform pack and throw your mods together, that's awesome. We 100% support that. I'm not sure what you mean by your users all being on the "old launcher". Judging by your website, your users are all running Tekkit with magic launcher because you instruct them to "install tekkit" by installing the tekkit modpack manually into magic launcher, and then direct them to download the mods from your website via a series of ad.fly links which you make money off of. Basically you are the worst fucking human being I have encountered in my entire time playing minecraft and how about you go fuck off to Feed the Beast or something.

I didn't "dodge" your point, you're doing a really terrible job of conveying your point, or you don't have a point. Your point seems to be, "Why don't they test their stuff? Oh, they do? Why don't they let US test their stuff? Oh, they do? Why haven't they released a new version of Hexxit yet? You're saying they're testing their stuff? Bullshit!"
-
Meteor armors let you right click to enchant, which creates an XP loop. AlexDGr8r has been notified and hopefully we'll have a fix sometime soon! Could be all kinds of stuff, might be meteors? If you're hearing them THAT frequently that'd be kind of surprising. I like mapwriter! I wouldn't use it for every pack- you can certainly sub in Rei's on your own, but mapwriter is A-OK by me.

We do. We don't promote a build to "latest" until it's ready to be tested, which is probably the source of your confusion. I can make a fork of the launcher that replaces "latest" with "beta" especially for you if it will calm you the fuck down.

So post a log.

Originally, Olloth set up the launcher to force-update everyone to 2.9. Once the upside-down issue was discovered, he backed off of that. He COULD make the LWJGL version configurable, but in a few weeks 1.6 will come out and everyone will be forced onto LWJGL 2.9 regardless. We're not sure what Mojang is planning to do about the upside-down thing, but it'll be their problem at that point. It's not work creating an LWJGL version option that will only exist for a couple weeks, though.
-
The LWJGL download zip contains a lot of files, but only two you care about: lwjgl.jar and lwjgl_util.jar. Drop these two files in .technic\hexxit\bin and replace the ones that are already there.

Hexxit problems? Maybe fixed in the future.
CanVox replied to Coltin677's topic in Hexxit Discussion
Hi, the ore height restrictions were lifted for vanilla ores- TConstruct ores are still at their usual heights. I could lift them too, I guess my thought was that since TConstruct stuff is supposed to last forever that a few deep dives to get TConstruct stuff might be a fun way to break up your surface expeditions. There are a FEW deep worldgens to contend with, just not as many as on the surface. Let me know what you think. -
Okay so let me tell you what's going on: you're getting a deep-inside-java-crash when LWJGL is attempting to swap buffers in OpenGL. Swapping buffers is the operation that shows a new frame on your monitor after it's been drawn and it happens pretty much entirely inside your graphics card, so this sort of thing pretty much just shouldn't ever happen. One thing you can try is downloading LWJGL 2.9 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/java-game-lib/files/ Open the zip file you downloaded, find lwjgl.jar and lwjgl_util.jar and drop them into your .technic/hexxit/bin folder. Otherwise, this is looking like some serious hardware shit and well above my ability to help you.

I have an idea- I'll fix it, but I heard that after relogging the chest should be fine.

I would say that the walker castles are definitely the "top-tier" content here. BD also adds caves, pirate ships, watchtowers, volcanos, and stuff, and none of them are nearly as tough as the walker castles. The necromancer castles are even pretty doable for a single player. After some experimentation during testing I feel pretty confident that I could beat a walker castle, at least to the boss, with a full set of prot 4 Hexxit Gear scale armor, a heavily-enchanted diamond sword, and a diamond asgard shield. Getting that gear is another story, though. You'll need to beat the lower-tier BD dungeons, battle towers, whathaveyou, and do plenty of adventuring in the Twilight Forest.
-
The cactus sword would probably be really weak. :V My understanding is the in-game books provide all the learnin' you need. Read the book you start with, and then it can be crafted into a new book (stick it in your crafting grid and the output is the next book), and there's a third book too you make the same way.

This crash log is due to a crash when the turtle boss engages someone. We're trying to get ahold of chocolatin to push a fix, because the turtle boss spawns in some castles and we don't have an easy way to find/remove all the turtles. The best thing to do at current is use creative mode to remove the turtle from your game when you get this crash.

Upgrade java, first thing. You're using like a five year old version or something.
-
I guess you mean one that doesn't take string? I'm not aware of one. As for the TC field repair, I think you gotta carry a workbench around, but I believe you can upgrade weapons with a diamond to increase durability.
-
They spawn on the surface, on grass, they're like ordinary flowers only very rare. They're blueish-purplish and have a tall stem. Breaking them gives you Hex Essence- 4 hex essence and a diamond makes a hex diamond. Each piece of armor requires a single hex diamond. Hex essence and diamonds are also featured in the loot tables of BD dungeons, as well as the golem chest and upper floors of battle towers. While using a compatible weapon, with an asgard shield in your hotbar, holding right click switches to your shield instead of blocking.
-
One thing you could try to do is have only one player log in and immediately switch to creative. Hopefully it won't crash (because it won't try to attack you) and you can fly around and deal with the issue from there. Let me know what happens.
-
Not without a log.
-
Hey polt07, you're a cool dude who has the BRAND NEW VERSION of java! I have no idea if the brand new version of java works, maybe try downgrading to java 1.7.0_21 and seeing if that works?
-
Hi, you can get rid of swampTurtleCave.prop to stop the turtle cave from spawning, or inside that file change the boss to a different boss than the turtle boss. I got the impression from some that there were turtles other than the boss, and that there were other places the turtles spawn. You can always give it a try, though.

No, it's weirder than that. MCPC+ has its own install instructions you should follow.

Also the amulets added by harken scythe can do this, but they require blood and souls. You get souls by killing mobs with a scythe reap attack (hold down right click), but you have to use a soul altar to fill up your stuff, and I'm not really clear on how to get blood.
