  1. There are solar panels, windmills, and uh hydrogen generators in mekanism. There's not a "compact solars" equivalent, so you probably won't like their output. I would strongly consider trying out some fueled generators, especially the Atomic Science fission reactors, but that's just my opinion.
  2. You screwed up your install- ID resolver and IC2 are both in there, and neither of those are mods that are in Big Dig.
  3. Make it crash again, and then afterwards, open the file /.technic/bigdig/ForgeModLoader-Client-0 and copy its contents. Go to pastebin.com and paste them into the box and hit submit. Then link me to the page it sends you to.
  4. Hi, you want to click on the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner of the launcher, and check the box that says "increase permgen space". You may also want to increase memory allocation while you're there. The checkbox is the important part for this crash log, though.
  5. Hi, in addition to increasing the memory, you're also going to want to check the checkbox in that same window that says "increase permgen size" or something like that.
  6. You can swap versions by using the cogwheel button under the big dig icon in the launcher. As long as you only run your SSP games in the newer version, I think you should be okay to swap back and forth.
  7. Hi, double check that the server has the mod Modular Powersuits. It was missing in earlier versions of the server, but is triple-checked present in 1.3.5. So if you're actually running a 1.3.5 server that is correctly installed, none of what you describe should be happening.
  8. Modular Powersuits has a jetpack module. Project Bench Mekanism has speed upgrades for its machines, Thermal Expansion you should just make more machines, it's not that hard. The alternative to the Pump is called... the Pump. Err... you need a non-IC2 alternative to a machine that made IC2 components? Tell me what you're trying to do and I'll tell you how to do it. Powered Furnace, for one, but there's like like literally 5 different furnace alternatives in Big Dig. Again, I'm not sure why you need a non-IC2 alternative to machine that existed to make IC2 stuff. This is ust a faster electro furnace Copper, Tin, and Rubber. There are a lot of different resistant building materials in Big Dig, but why do you need a non-IC2 alternative to protect against IC2 machine explosions? The alternative is... nukes. You even have nuclear missiles that can be launched now. The alternative is... solar panels. There aren't compact solars, which is fine. If you want big energy, use a nether lava operation fed into a bank of magmatics, or a large farming operation fed into a bioreactor and then into a bank of biofuel engines. Or Atomic Science fission or fusion reactors, or a large bank of hydrogen generators. Redstone Energy Cell Energy Conduit Depends what you're looking for out of it, but I highly recommend looking into the Power Tool and the options you get out of Modular Powersuits. I guess hydrogen generators.
  9. Hi, that goes away after a minute. It happens when the game is resaving out the world after the initial worldgen. It seems like it takes longer than it should but after a minute or two it's fixed. This only seems to happen in single player, and only the first time you play a new world.
  10. What made yours start to do it? Any info on what's causing this could be good.

Well, some mods were removed because they're not ready yet and will be added when they are (Logipipes), and some were removed because they're fine mods but CoFH has the same functionality now (Flat Bedrock, Metallurgy), and some were removed because they're fine mods but no longer necessary with this modlist (Power Converters). Some were removed because they're dying garbage, though, yes.

  13. I'm not saying that this will NECESSARILY fix it, but your friend's java is rather old. They should update to java 1.7 update 21.

  15. It is. I was offering some suggestions for map changes- using the ender storage network, temporarily activating vanilla ender chests, letting players store their stuff in them, and moving the contents over to the new map, etc. However, at the heart of it, 20 mods were removed from Big Dig- you're not going to be able to port maps over directly.

  18. The machines you're describing are IndustrialCraft 2 machines, and they went away because IndustrialCraft 2 is no longer in the pack.

  20. inittowinitall, this occurs during the period after worldgen where the area of the world that was genned is getting saved out to disk. I believe it's a new weirdness in 1.5.2 when the internal server stops responding, but if you wait a bit, it'll pop you back where you belong, and as you've noticed relogging helps too. I haven't noticed it happening after the initial world gen.

  22. Hi, you grabbed the server a bit early, delete NEI Plugins from your server's mods folder.
  23. You may have grabbed the server too quickly- if there is an NEI plugins mod in the server, delete it.

  25. Er, the problem affects macs too? If you start a new game in survival mode, cheats disabled, do you get the same behavior?
