:D That's okay, I'm just relieved to hear it's not still broken. Have fun, and if your friend crashes again, get ahold of the crash log and post it, and I'll try to help out.

Sorry, what problem are you getting with MPS, then?

1.3.5 fixes this

1.3.4 change log and how to migrate from 1.2.2?
CanVox replied to gaarakenpachi's topic in Big Dig Discussion
One good idea if your players wanna keep some of their stuff: ender storage contents are stored in a separate folder from everything else, so you could instruct players to stick stuff in the endernet. Or, temporarily enable vanilla ender chests and let players do that. Once the new map has been generated, copy in the old ender storage network folder, and players can pull their stuff out. Obviously this isn't a 100% fix, because lots of items can't be carried over (IC2, RP2 stuff), but especially if players use the Forge Lexicon to convert their copper/tin/etc. to thermal expansion ingots, players will at least have a nest egg to start the new server with. That's just an idea. I know how tough it is to convert maps, but one thing I can promise you is that this won't happen very often at all. The big reason why you're seeing these upheavals now is, because RP2 can't be carried over, we knew we were going to have to break maps anyway. So this is one of our rare opportunities to remove mods from our pack, and we took it. -
Yeah, your crash was 100% the permgen size issue, but I figured while you're in there, might as well tinker with allocation size too. Good to hear you already got that taken care of.
-
Sporge: this is very helpful. Here's how you fix the issue. 1. Open up the technic launcher. 2. Click the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner. 3. Check the box that says "increase permgen size" or something. 4. While you're here, you should totally increase your memory allocation to at least 2Gb if it's not already. Even up to 4Gb could help performance, so if you've got memory to spare, give it a try.

Big Dig for 1.5.2, Bug-Hunting thread!
CanVox replied to TheForestHermit's topic in Big Dig Discussion
Big Dig 1.3.5 was just released- aside from fixing the forestry config issues mentioned near the beginning of the thread, I picked up new NEI/CodeChickenCore/NEI Plugins that came out like today, so hopefully they'll fix the linux incompatibilities. Let me know! -
After it tries to load for 5 or 10 minutes, close it out and pastebin me the log: .technic\bigdig\ForgeModLoader-Client-0
-
It works for me, so it sounds like you're not following instructions.
-
Hello, I am interested in fixing the bugs you didn't report!
-
I would, just look at what RichardG has to say about it: "Many claim that gregtech is maintaining IC2. That is semi true, we'll continue updating as long as possible, but Alblaka disappeared out of the blue, and the fact that it's longer than his previous university breaks makes me worried. Be happy with your boats and cable painting, me and Player aren't in it for the creativity."

Big Dig for 1.5.2, Bug-Hunting thread!
CanVox replied to TheForestHermit's topic in Big Dig Discussion
I've uploaded a new version of server 1.3.4 that fixes this issue, and also the greg's lighting issue. -
Someone can certainly do that, but I will not. I'm done with testing random IC2 builds to find out which one won't explode.
-
If you havent updated yet, to make it so your client doesn't update to 1.5.2, when it asks you if you want to update. Say no.
-
Click the cogwheel under Big Dig, select manual version, pick 1.2.2 from the dropdown list, hit save, hit launch, click yes.

Big Dig for 1.5.2, Bug-Hunting thread!
CanVox replied to TheForestHermit's topic in Big Dig Discussion
This is unrelated to Big Dig, and is instead related to an update we made launcher-side a couple days ago. We updated LWJGL, which allows mac users to now upgrade to java 7, which is awesome. However, users of a particular make of intel integrated graphics are getting this upside-down graphics thing. The LWJGL team has already found a fix and put out a beta build with it. We're watching it closely and will be putting out the fix soon. In the meantime, playing full screen is the workaround. -
You're doing something wrong, then- I was just able to successfully roll back to 1.2.2.
-
I understand folks who don't want to lose their map, but I really do hope you'll try the game without these mods. We had the same growing pains when we removed IC2 and RP2 from Tekkit and ultimately people realized that they didn't lose a whole lot when those mods got removed. Heck, you guys are losing even less, because Atomic Science provides nuke reactors, and MineFactory provides a mass fab equivalent in 2.6, and the particle collider and Atomic Assembler from Atomic Science provide late-game megaprojects like some IC2 stuff you're missing. The only thing you're short on at this point are frames.

And when you get back, post what you find in the wiki!

Hi, one of the big stumbling blocks to big dig in the past was Craft & Enchant. It just didn't like MCPC+ at all! I don't know how well 1.3.2 works with MCPC+ (we don't support it officially and don't do testing with it), but I removed C&E in favor of Enchanting+ in hopes that you guys will have an easier time getting MCPC+ working with the new version. Let me know how ti goes.

As far as we're concerned, RP2 and IC2 are dead mods. The new big dig is out, check out the mod list and try it yourself. Keep an open mind and I think you'll have a great time: http://www.technicpack.net/article/view/big-dig-132-is-now-recommended.22

Man a lot of people thought it was smart to run the unpromoted development build and got burned. You should not do that. But, now it's complete: http://www.technicpack.net/article/view/big-dig-132-is-now-recommended.22

I would try out the Easy Crafting Table- it's supposed to be an even friendlier Project Table alternative (and is similarly cheap). If people don't like it very much, there's actually a standalone project table mod we'll be adding to Tekkit, and I could add it to Big Dig too.
