  1. Hi, Curunir,

You were right, we dropped the ball with the Java 8 updates. We've updated our packs to support it, and I've been buzzing modpack developers about java 8 support as their packs are reported in the Platform. At some point in the next month I'm going to set a deadline for pack authors to add Java 8 support to be considered a "working" pack, but that is going to be at least a month off, I don't want to force too many changes on them at once.

  2. I've been having problems getting one of my Solder-enabled packs to link properly to the Platform beta. Of my three Solder packs, only one of them is failing to properly link (and of course it's the one I NEED to be linked properly right now...).

Despite having Solder configured and linked on my profile, and the pack in question claiming to have a successful link on the Edit Modpack page, the main modpack page still says that the modpack isn't properly configured (and needs a link to a zip or Solder configuration). I've tried unlinking and relinking Solder (both on live and beta platform). I wanted to try to generate a new API key for beta and relink, but there's no button to generate a new key at the moment. I'd rather not delete and re-create the pack on the platform to keep my users from having to reinstall.

When I try to run the pack from the launcher using the version installed by the live launcher, the launcher tries to update the pack (which is already up to date) but fails to download ("Invalid URL: "). If I delete the installed pack and try to add it in the new launcher, it fails to download the pack entirely.

I need you to link your pack on the beta platform to help you with this. I do know that there was a problem with API key generation on the beta platform- it has been corrected in dev but not pushed live to the beta site yet.

  3. And just for anyone else who's reading this: the reason why we have this policy is that there are a lot of people in the Minecraft community who are making money off minecraft or trying to. We're one of them, but there are tons. There are hundreds or thousands of streamers or aspiring streamers, hundreds or thousands of websites. If we allowed anyone who wanted to to come onto these forums and post an ad to their content, there wouldn't be anything else here. If you want to post some content, you're welcome to do so. But content that just happens to link repeatedly to your monetized website is native advertising and we're not going to put up with it. If the advertising is accidental, remove the links and continue posting. If you're not willing to do that, then stop posting or I will make you.

  4. Since you decided to go above Munaus's head and contact me regarding this issue, I should probably make the following clear: we made the policy, Munaus is enforcing it because we asked him to. The policy is that you cannot advertise something. That means no posting stuff that links to your website, your youtube, your adfly, your whatever. If you are posting these entirely for the purpose of generating discussion, then you should have no problem with removing the links which we're taking issue with. We do not look kindly on people using our forums to monetize our users. If you want to advertise on our site, that's what google adsense is for, and people have many options if they do not want to see your ads.

  5. - in the launcher will be an option to see changelogs along the updates?

Yes, changelogs are reported to the launcher in the update feed of each pack.

    - anything new with Solder? can't wait.

We'll do some solder improvements after the platform launches. We've got a lot of cool features in our sights, but it's not in the scope of the new platform.

    - maybe an option to an official place to put server download?

We're going to look toward more server integration in the future, but not with this release. :) It is important, and we know that.

  6. That file is infact left in the config folder,

Also "- (Since 13b) Fixed several Food Plus ID's. Cocoa butter should no longer result from random recipes." still isnt fixed!

The atomic science file has been there since 1.0.0, I think one of the other mods generates it for Calclavia reasons.

As for the cocoa butter, when I place a bonemeal into a crafting grid in survival mode, in 1.0.13c, I receive a needle but no cocoa butter. If that's not the case for you, please make sure you're on 13c and not 13b, reset your pack, and if it persists, provide me some data so we can figure out why you're different.

  9. Hi, I know this is really old, but I want to respond to this to explain why we don't just do that: the networking system in java checks that property on startup, so changing it after startup does nothing. You have to set it and then relaunch the application, which requires a little bit of infrastructure to make work, so it won't be in until the new launcher is released.

  10. Now that Fossils and Archeology Revival has been updated to 1.6.4 will Attack of the B-Team's Fossils and Archeology Reported be replaced by it? It has more features and probably less bugs.

It does not have less bugs, many of the bugs I fixed for Re-Ported are still present in Revival. I'm currently working with the devs of Revival to get these bugs worked out so we can start using it.  I also added some issues to Re-Ported that makes World of Dinos work properly, so I'll need to do the same here.

Radios work, there's just a requirement now for the notenoughcodecs clientside mod to be added (which allows the clients to hear the aac or mp3 streams the radio puts out).  You can get it here; http://openmods.info/

Actually CanVox, adding that to the clientside in this version might be a good idea (along with a default stream to be superawesome!).

Check the 1.0.12a changelog above- notenoughcodecs is now included.

How come my NEI wont work and i tried hitting "O" and i looked in conflict too see if there was something maybe but there wasn't. I looked in the mods section on th home screen and it says no plugins installed in red. what happened?

This is not a problem I'm experiencing. It's possible you had an install problem? Reset pack and try again.

  11. Hey guys, I have just updated my server to this version if you want to check it out on a public server! IP: play.nemalands.co.uk

Here is the link the post for the server http://tinyurl.com/paxoxj4

Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but the server will not start with the OpenEye mod which is included in the server download.

It started in my test environment, so that's really weird. Can you get me a log?

Will village spawns ever be brought back again in future builds once someone figures how to tinker with the code so they spawn more naturally working with Bioms of Pleanty?  I just discovered a village in my world and it almost looks like an apartment complex because the buildings merged with the terrain and are about 15-20 blocks high in some areas.  Looks pretty funky.  I'm thinking of adding a walkway system between the doors which are high up.  Admitatly a bit of work...but I do like the random villages that spawn in 1.0.10b.

Village spawns will be brought back as soon as BoP figures out how to make them not occasionally corrupt worlds.

  12. Hey, everyone,

  13. It's worth noting that this is not the first time this has happened. We established our policy the first time it occurred- no carrying over +1's, period. If you're the admin of a server that runs a platform modpack, please be aware that a particular server-company has been going around trying to get into rival servers' modpacks so they can delete them for awhile. In the new system it won't be possible for users to delete packs to a point where they can't be restored, but please don't treat this site as a site where you can be lax on security, even though it's just a stupid minecraft modpack website. If your pack is popular, this is probably the only site you frequent where someone is ACTIVELY trying to attack you. It's unfortunate that this is where minecraft server hosting has gone, but it's the reality we live in.

  14. For those of you crashing: Post the issue on the Tracker and edit the link on your posts so Technic can review them properly.

Follow the Bug Report Template for ease of reading issue reports. Thank you!

    http://forums.technicpack.net/tracker/project-4-attack-of-the-b-team/

It's fine to post crash reports here in this thread, as this is a beta thread (provided they're related to 1.0.11a) but reporting a crash without a log is useless and I'll ignore it entirely.

  15. Hello! I told vaisaghvt that he could post this here in Cafe Lame, since it was academic in nature. Moderators, please allow this thread to remain, and players, please do not use the existence of this thread to post your Anarchy servers or whatever here in Cafe Lame.
