  1. http://bad-wolf-of-baskerville.tumblr.com/post/22996018010/the-avengers-names-written-in-circular Dr Who + Avengers, couldn't pass it up.
  2. Ignorance may be bliss, but it's pretty gross for the rest of us. The more people who understand what places are feeding us, the more they'll shift to places offering good quality stuff. Markets shift, profits go down for crap like pink slime, population starts feeling better generally because they're not eating crap that's illegal to feed to animals...
  3. Well there you go. Fast food joints don't sell ice cream, they sell partially frozen dairy-flavored water. Just like how most candies are "chocolate flavored" because their mash of chemicals don't legally qualify as chocolate. You think those are chocolate covered peanuts, but they're really reformed peanut trailings coated in corn syrup, brown coloring, and artificially flavored bug guts. Just an FYI, "Natural flavors" is marketing speak for bug guts, rodent waste, and bits of animals generally considered vile and disgusting by the target culture. Edit: Kruziik, I dunno about burgers specifically, but crushed up fruitloops might make a good replacement for breadcrumbs as a binder in meatballs or meatloaf. Especially if you serve with a thick berry based sauce instead of ketchup, play up the sweet fruity tones in contrast to the savory meat.
  4. MCedit the blocks away?
  5. Seriously? They made a couple documentaries about it with Bruce Campbell back in the 80's, go watch them.
  6. Did you get it from somewhere specific or make it yourself? I married a trained gourmet chef, she has shown me what combining sweet and savory can be, and also what it must never be. The sundae does sound like it could be good given the right ingredients, chocolate covered bacon is really damn good if the chocolate is a good quality and tempered properly. The ice cream is probably the deciding factor in a bacon sundae, like a good quality light chocolate (so the richness doesn't combine with the baconfat and overload your senses) and not the whipped water with a bit of skim milk and tons of chemicals most grocery stores pass off as the store brand. Frozen yogurt might be a good choice too. Meh, I shall confer with the missus tomorrow and see what she thinks. Sleep deprived me probably shouldn't give out too much culinary advice.
  7. One of my friends in college had a copy of the necronomicon (paperback), so I looked though it. The drawings of circles and symbols made me giggle. A lot. Uncontrollably. I don't think that's normal...
  8. Xy, the modding forums are so often miss-posted in I feel like a kid at christmas who just got something from their List when I open a new thread and it's actually related to modding. I mean, ye gods, it takes me 15 minutes to make sure I'm not actually reading it wrong or dreaming when someone posts their own work.
  9. No.
  10. Wrong way around lorrothmos, this place if for you to post ideas and hope a modder takes a liking to the idea, not ask a stupid question covered by vanilla wow.
  11. Why would you post this here?
  12. Is your SDK up to date? Are you using eclipse or notepad++? How are your reading comprehension skills?
  13. What sort of compile errors are you getting in MCP (which you are obviously using to recompile the mod since you're posting in this subforum)?
  14. Reading the stickies will correct your problem.
  15. While an interesting idea, I do believe that's exactly what RP computers were added to do. And you can do it with CC computers as well, since they interface with bundled cable.
  16. Ok, I give up. Every time I look at the gui stuff The Fog descends on my brain and I can't do crap for the rest of the day. Does anyone have some free time this weekend they could spend on a skype/google/ect... chat walking me through a basic gui with buttons, a progress bar, and inventory slots?
  17. That $1000/month buys you space in a data center, which is much better for businesses than having the server sit on a folding table in a wiring closet. They usually have a very fat pipe to work with if not direct truck access, large bank UPS with power conditioning, climate control you could only dream of in your house, industrial fire suppressant, 24hr on (site/call) tech for hands on work, background checked personnel, and electronic security for physical access. Pretty damn overkill for a tekkit server. $5 a month with a minecraft host buys you enough allocated processing power in a virtual machine to run a small server and never have to worry about bandwidth, hardware, power, or server updates.
  18. Unfortunately off-site hosting is your only real option, if this keeps up you won't be able to run a server because comcast will cut you off completely. Their base is affecting you in the real world, so it has become a problem. Either nuke it from orbit, tell them to tone it down, or get some donations to rent a server. Frankly that is an insane amount of bandwidth. I can't imagine the amount of stuff they would have to have to generate that many updates per second.
  19. The rule is about advertising your server with any extra mods required, not just forestry. I would say go read the history of forestry on technic/tekkit but we both know that's asking far too much. And bossgx700, it's perfectly fine calling some a retard if they willingly act like it. It's only a bad thing to do if they can't help their mental state.
  20. I think it's time to rename the subforums. Modder metropolis is a good name, keep it as is. Questions attracts too many shitposts, maybe "Shop talk", "Smart guys technobabbling", or "Core Competency Synergizing"? Requests also attracts too many shitposts. Something as simple as a form required to create a thread (like the bug boards) would work, or maybe rename it "Temple of Offerings" or "Ideas are a Dime a Dozen".
  21. I don't use EE, and the only problem I have with it is the sheer number of whiners it creates. Left in the pack: "I don't like it, take it out! WAAAAAHHHH!!!" Taken out of the pack: "I liked it, give it back! WAAAAAHHHH!!!" Fully enabled on a server: "It's impossible for me to force the server to have an economy, OP must remove it! WAAAAAHHHH!!!" Partially enabled on a server: "But I NEED <disabled item> to play, give it back! WAAAAAHHHH!!!"/"You left in too much, take it all out! WAAAAAHHHH!!!" Fully disabled on a server: "OMFGWTF?!? Gimme EE now OP or I'll hack/sue/report/kill you! WAAAAAHHHH!!!"
  22. No, but weed-ex will be liberally applied if you give a matron some, and it has a chance to damage the GGR stats of a crop every time it's applied.
  23. I did an addon mod. It's in modders metropolis, For The Trees. I also did a cropcard collection for I Don't Now on the IC2 forums. Still need to get v2 done for him though, fix up some stuff.
  24. Release notes for 103 says "Fully disabled crop trampling"
  25. The move and sneak doesn't seem to handle long ping times nicely, especially when the connection has to traverse an ocean. I gave up on european servers due to this, it was impossible for me to work with crops when the movement prediction code would tell the crop I just jumped on it from 2 blocks away while sneaking. Alblaka gutted the trample stuff completely in the next version, so hopefully that means we can sprint through fields of hops in the next tekkit without worry.
