  1. Ok? Assuming that is the same deathrat, it doesn't really mean anything other than Deathrat seems to like rice and taking jabs at two high profile people who can't type "technic" without vomiting ten pages of bile.
  2. Looking through the source it just seems to add rice and some related cooking blocks and items, with MFR2 support. Neat looking, and I assume rice, riceballs, and woks are not nearly all the author plans to add.
  3. Get ahold of yourself man! The deed is done and we cannot change the past, no matter how hard we try. But we cannot allow ourselves to fall into self pity, we cannot dwell on the past and our shame. We must pick ourselves up and push forward. We must press on, not just for ourselves, but for the rest of the world world, for the future, and for the memory of Cheap Ugg Boots!
  4. Ooo, ooo, please do continue to disregard the rules. Dealing with people like you is ever so much fun.
  5. Oh, if only we had a section of the forums dedicated entirely to crashes and bugs. What a joyous time that would be...
  6. If you're not sure where your post belongs, maybe you should read The Rules and figure it out. Hint: Not here.
  7. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/ Yes, hamachi will work over mobile broadband as long as your provider isn't specifically targeting it.
  8. Your avatar was changed automatically by the board because you racked up enough warning points to earn it. The points will expire in a month, though any new points you rack up have their own expiry date. As for why? It's pretty obvious you have no intention of participating in a discussion, only flaming the team for daring to not cater to CJ's whims. And shaming you publicly? You're doing it yourself right here and now.
  9. Protip: Tekkit classic is just 1.2.5 tekkit, which met the requirements CJ laid out when it was created. Volts is put together by calclavia not kakermix, and he not only wrote the API most of the mods use but also authored half the mods himself anyway.
  10. Edit: Ok, yeah, I'm such a slow typist that 7 replies showed up before I finished... I don't. First off I'm just a mod, the newest one at that. So do not take my post as cannon kakermix words from on high. Now, as a player I always disliked railcraft. It was the reason I never built any rails in the last year. At all. I didn't even place down track I got from mineshafts because you still need booster tracks to make an effective system. The special tracks added by steve's carts and minefactory reloaded are effective without requiring a 10 step process using 2 specialized machines to create. As for the permissions list issue. What right does covert have to demand personal communications between kakermix and other mod authors? Why should kakermix bow to his whims, especially when he has multiple times made his personal dislike of technic publicly known? Covert previously allowed technic to use railcraft because the publicity and donations outweighed his personal feelings and adfly income. But now there's another option, called FTB. Covert apparently came to the conclusion technic will die a swift death in the face of real competition, and has decided to jump ship while taking a parting shot fueled by all his pent up displeasure (he knew kaker wouldn't do it, his request was about as reasonable as telling a jewish man to eat a side of bacon be refused service). Covert threw his lot in with slowpoke, too bad slowpoke has a slick tongue but little to back it up... The FTB UE modpack is showing 1/20th the downloads as Volts does, and slowpoke not only wants money from calclavia to push it in the launcher, but also refuses to put up donation pages for any minor mods (not that they get the major mod pages up in a timely manner...) Don't believe me? http://pastie.org/5924799 Covertjaguar allowed railcraft in technic because it suited his greed, and now has jumped ship. I for one will laugh and laugh and laugh when he realizes his userbase just shrank considerably as the Overwhelming Chorus of FTB users turns out to be just a handfull of really really loud fanboys.
  11. And we lost a mars rover about a decade ago to a single instance of an engineer not converting feet to meters when reading a blueprint. Metric is the majority standard, but not universal.
  12. Not going to happen. Why?
  13. True, but entirely up to havoc. mIDas is very well known and is featured in every server upgrade/migrate guide I've read. Anything.
  14. Everything is a learning experience. In this case, aim higher.
  15. Forge lexicon block lets you convert from one mod's version of a metal to another. Also, check the pulverizer and induction smelter recipes. Some of the ores have extra dusts when pulverized, and smelting ores with sand can get you rich slag which is worth an extra metal bar apiece.
  16. 6 redstone, a stack of iron, 3 RP2 gems of a single color, 16 tin, two stacks of sand, and various amounts of wood, cactus, and cobble. Make a BC pump, 4 redstone engines, some waterproof tubing, atleast 4 spare tanks, and a stack of IC2 cells. Make a mining turtle from a turtle and a gem pick. It will work, though it cannot mine obsidian correctly (breaks block but no obsidian drop). Make a nether portal (buckets of lava work great) and create a base by surrounding the portal plus a 5x5 space with cobble. Have your turtle "excavate 1" to punch a hole down to the lava sea. Put your pump above that hole with the 4 redstone engines and have it pump lava into the tanks. Fill the empty cells from the tanks so you have a stack of lava cells. Return to the overworld and find a patch of ocean you don't like. Place the turtle (no higher than y60) and a double chest behind it, refuel it with the lava cells (and maybe some extra cells or charcoal for good measure), tell it to "excavate 32", wait and snag the results as it comes. Laugh at the notion of scarce resources. That should net you atleast 20 diamonds plus a ton of other ores and stuff. Bonus points for using a buffer and filter/sort system to send the cobble/dirt/gravel into an incinerator while the rest goes into a gold chest.
  17. The link I provided mentions "Microblock API". I don't have a link to calclavia's comment on redpower logic, but he did say one of the major UE modders is working on redstone wiring and logic blocks.
  18. It's a tool, not a mod. It runs through a world save fixing block and item ID changes, converting the world to a new config setup. If you don't convert a world when your config changes you could end up with veins of monitors, marble trees, all your tubes replaced by copper ore, and everyone's nano/quantum armor replaced with cookies. Assuming the world even bothers to start.
  19. I think you should read through the tutorials for both bukkit and forge and learn what both do. Because right now you seem to be misinformed, and because of that bad information you're misunderstanding what keepcalm and I are telling you.
  20. I believe one of the modders is planning redstone wiring and logic features, and read the second line after "API:" in this thread: http://forum.calclavia.com/index.php?threads/api-improvements-ue-1-3.203/
  21. Yeah, old news. No clue if he's just delusional and believes kaker is just chomping at the bit to include gregtech in technic, or if he just wants the satisfaction of attacking technic users and turning people againt the modpack while putting up a front of "I'm the victim of kaker's evil ways!". Either way, don't expect anything to happen on this. Few people actually like the mod (FTB users want it removed from the pack), and even fewer will try it since he's blocking a very large pool of potential fans from trying it.
  22. Because there are a lot of bukkit plugins that are not currently available as forge mods? Plugins that do things very beneficial to the smooth running of servers? Servers that would be extremely dull as just vanilla? Have you never seen a classic tekkit server in action? Witnessed what crossing over the two separate mod development communities can do?
  23. Hamachi creates a virtual private network between your computer and everyone else on your hamachi group. It does this over any internet connection, mobile or not. So with hamachi, you've got a lan to make a lan game with.

    Trainlines

Turtle or redpower frame machine. The issue is no matter what you do, if you don't have the tracks placed before a player has a chance to enter the chunk then you run the risk of your system punching a hole through someone's base. Not a bit issue for singleplayer or lan games, but on a big server it's pretty much guaranteed to cause an issue.
