Feed the beast! No matches ongoing right now
Neowulf replied to Sp0nge's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
So freakin simple it's not even funny, build a wall. Really, all you have to do is stick a wall between bases and none of this would ha happened. Diagonal glass walls from y 1-255 with a ceiling so no one flies over and an outside wall 128 blocks from the center. Surround the visitor's area with glass as well. Protect it from breaking and you're golden. Also, double up the glass plates in the spawns, it was really trivial to change the starter items timer while I was sitting in spawn waiting for alpha to stop killing me every time I popped out of spawn. -

No rules? Only way I'd play another match is if a wall was erected between the bases and some real build/destroy/move protections put into place. Attack, theft, if I knew that was allowed I'd have sent one turtle to plug your spawn with obsidian constantly, another to mine out your base, and just sniped you with arrows. Or even better, plug your spawn with the bedrock piece the cookie challenge rewarded. Really? Wow, sorry but your tests are crap then. North base build a bridge over to ours pretty much right after you left yesterday, trying to claim it's a bridge of love. He came within 20 blocks of our starter chest before melol (I think) noticed and shot him off with a bow then made plans for a tnt cannon. This morning I was getting shot with various projectiles from alpha who was flying right above our darkroom. -

You were looking right at me firing shots the first time, and followed me when I tried to run. Once is an accident, 5 times within 30 seconds of me dropping down from spawn is not. As for the bridges, you were flying about 15 blocks above our base platform. So those protections are pretty crap. I'm missing stuff, diamonds and cocoa I had sitting up on my breeder platform, stuff I know the rest of my team didn't touch. -
What happened to Crafting Table III?

Taking bwillb's info into account, it'll probably be back really quickly. Why do you hate it? Some issues with it are frustrating, but overall it's a very nice thing to have. -
Devs make 3.1.1 recommended: most servers don't upgrade right away, most players are too stupid to change the build successfully, said players rage on the forums "you update broke, you fix!" Devs don't make 3.1.1 recommended: players can keep playing as normal, some servers upgrade forcing their players to upgrade too, some players start raging "why no make recommended? it new so it better, make recommended now!" Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Remove the zips from the \mods\ folder.

Next match, setup protections so one side can't build bridges to other sides. -

I can't do anything without alphaest killing me. So much for this competition... -
First, I ran out of breath just trying to read that. If you can't say something in one breath, break it into multiple sentences. Second, advanced insertion pipes and a loop back to your storage chest is your friend. Third, if making a loop is too complicated, use a transposer, timer, and RP2 tubing to go from the storage chest to the engines. Tubes won't let items overflow, ever.

What's the hack? Because frankly while capitalizing every letter that comes after a space is realtively easy, you aren't consistent. So either you have a very sophisticated "hack" capable of determining random words and whole sentences not to capitalize. Or you're bullshitting a mod in an attempt to keep up your annoying habit without punishment. I'd drop $20 on Bullshitting, but with these odds the payout would only be $0.53

Oye, nether_king, just because lothos doesn't use capital letters doesn't mean you have to make up for it. And your tips are helpful, but doesn't really make you the king of the nether. I have my turtle minions lay out grand hallways across the vast lava oceans of the nether just to get me to a small glowstone deposit and I still don't consider myself more than nether minister, possibly governor. True nether royalty doesn't dirty their hands with peasant work, they delegate.

I dunno... "Class Object extends Thread" and it all goes downhill from there.
-
Actually, thinking about it, multi-threaded MC would probably have run worse than now. Having seen the horror that is MC's source jakj, what do you think the chances are that notch would have had it create a new thread per tile/mob/projectile entity?
-
Threading just breaks the tasks up into independent execution paths so it can be distributed across multiple cores/processors. The key is can be, not has to be. A threaded application will run just fine on a single core processor, the OS just runs all the threads on the one core it has.

I would guess a fatal bug. Forge was updated so there's a good chance CT3 has a major bug in the new forge version. Though it might just be because of the overall performance. It causes inventory glitching with any item that doesn't get consumed in the recipe, hangs the game if you accidentally sort your inventory while the GUI is open, and seems to prefer the worst possible path when multi-level crafting (like ignoring your cobble and making generators with iron furnaces from 8 iron). Or it could just be the author requested it be removed. All speculation at the moment, only the technic team can say for sure. So Kudos to you xxmatthewo on this helpful find. -
Anyone tried snow blocks? It would be odd for eloraam to consider ice and water as cold but neglect snow.
-
Exactly. Fast food is less prestigious that waiter, and is 1/10th as dignified. Restaurant patrons still consider their waiters to be marginally human.
-
Yes, but it's fast food so without the prestige and dignity the title Waiter confers.

It's more of a half asleep stumble through them than a deliberate pull. Been waiting for the McWeinerschnitzel mod to be added forever, nothing more fun than building a Weinerschnitzel hut up to full spec then sitting and serving sporadic rushes of NPC's for 8 hours at a time. And if you have iconomy setup it'll even simulate you having to deal with management trying to screw you out of minimum wage. Epic!
-
AH HAH! Cheap's image is proof they're planning on adding the HeroBunny, BushyBrows, Dual Wieldy, and McWeinerschnitzel mods to the next version of technic. Why else would he draw a bunny with huge eyebrows holding a hotdog in one hand and a steak in another?

There are 45,000 users contributing over 100,000 posts in almost 14,000 threads. All of this in what, 6 months? What exactly do you expect the mods to do? Or are you just pissed your google search for "tekkit dun werk" didn't answer your problem perfectly on the first result with flowers and rainbows and free +1 diamonds for all?

Technic forums have a clearly defined set of rules. Obey the rules, you're treated like a human being. Disregard the rules like 99% of first posters do, you get mocked. This isn't the MCforums, there are no popularity contests, memes are banned, and thread hijacks/wrong area posting is mercilessly mocked until the poster either leaves or wises up (either way, the forum stays cleaner). Please point out the thread you speak of, anyone here can tell you exactly what the original poster did wrong to deserve their mocking. But to answer your question, Kakermix is God here.

If you want to ban microblocks you have to add a permissions plugin to your server and ban them from either placement or crafting. Either way you'll be entering a metric fuckload of itemID:damageValue combinations. You will be disabling frame motors and computers when you do it as well, since they both require the wire draw plate that is made from diamond and iron microblocks. Plus jacketed wire, which also requires microblocks. Even with a workaround to let users get the wires needed without the microblocks, you're crippling frame setups since they won't be able to place down wires or control what sides of a frame connect to other blocks.

Can't at the moment, working for another 6 hours or so. That's why I asked about a retry, I have a lot more time on the weekends. -

Nolan's server is the one I frequent, I missed this entry because of the steam sale (I've been hitting up steelport with laserguns and irradiated energy drinks). If nolan and the rest are given a second try I can join in.
