Feed the beast! No matches ongoing right now
Neowulf replied to Sp0nge's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Aww, I missed the tekkit's entry? I've been meaning to try FTB but frankly do not care for forestry in the "official" one in the slightest. Since the redstone issue cropped up, would it have been considered cheating if I were part of nolan's team, with my intimate knowledge of IC2? -
I just wish she would add a laser cutter machine. Ruby block, some silver, and some bluetricity stuff for a block that cuts wafers and microblocks as if you were smelting.

Stick a stack of a higher level fuel in the target slot, the collector will build up enough to upgrade 1 piece of the feedstock to 1 piece of the target, and will consume 1 piece of the feedstock but output the entire stack size of the target. So 1 charcoal and a stack of 64 coal in the target, once it builds up 96 EMC (coal 128 - charcoal 32) it will consume 1 charcoal (total cost 128EMC) and output a stack of 64 coal (8192 EMC), a sudden gain of 8064 EMC. Keep doing that and you can target a full stack of aeternalis fuel in no time. Going from mobius to aeternalis requires 6144 EMC worth of generation, but gives you a full stack of aeternalis worth over a half million EMC. Whelp, scratch that, I just tested to check a theory. Apparently news of the bug's continued health were greatly exaggerated. Bug is gone, collector now ignores target stack size and only outputs one when it finishes generation. Though there is still a decent set of dupe bugs multiple people can exploit. Including one I completely forgot about, the NEI save slot glitch if you leave the mod on the server. No duplicating needed, they could have spawned hundreds of mk3 collector flowers in a matter of minutes.

From what I've been told it's not technically a bug. While it does multiply the output by 64x, the author apparently left it that way on purpose despite multiple bugfix releases since it first cropped up. I say it's a bug though.

EU/tick Normal/With redstone signal: LV transformer: 32/128 MV: 128/512 HV: 512/2048
-
3 guys can easily do it. First focus on getting atleast 13 diamonds. Build a nether portal then get the glowstone needed for a mk1 collector. Exploit the fuel upgrade bug to ramp up EMC generation by 64 times, have one person babysit it to work on getting more collectors/relays. Other 2 work on getting even more diamonds and other EMC rich ores. EMC output from the collectors grown exponentially, a simple RP setup can automate the process once it gets established. Lots of possibilities, that's just one. EE is frankly way too overpowered.

Power converters are in tekkit but not technic. Best bet is a MV or HV transformer with a redstone signal sending the power over glass fibre/4xins HV cable down to another MV/HV transformer without a redstone signal in your base. MV transformer if you have the glass fibre to space, HV if you're using HV cable.

They aren't tekkit emeralds, Redpower 2 adds them. As to what happens, that depends on what Eloraam decides to do. Probably going to be a simple rename maybe a recoloring. Though it is possible she'll just drop her emeralds and rewrite the recipes to use the 1.3 vanilla emeralds.

1.0-1.9999999 is still block 1. 2.0-2.9999999 is block 2. You discard the decimal amount to determine what block you're in. Think legos. Don't think about edges and 2d plane borders, you occupy a spot within a block. That block is one of a 16x16 grid that forms a chunk. The first chunk that doesn't cross into the negatives has the 1,1 block as it's SW border and the 16,16 block as it's NE corner. If you have a plugin like towny running on a server, if you place a block at 1,1 and protect it's chunk then it can't be touched while 0,0/1,0/0,1 will all be unprotected.

Make sure to use tin cables, it gives you a ton of leeway.

Dayum, hope it's a huge contract.

Heh, my office has been trying to get approval to drop $15k on a large format scanner so they don't have to ship the 1-2 maps they get a month over to a company 25 miles away.

First use for mine is going to be a set top box for our TV. Stick a wireless adapter and a wireless keyboard/mouse, my 4 year old is going to have fun learning to type and play games. Though once the addon boards starts maturing, it'll probably pull double duty as a 3d printer controller as well.

Yeah, it's a popular suggestion, but alblaka has his vision and a chance of loss is part of it.
-
Chunks are 16x16 and the first fully positive chunk starts it's SW corner block at 1x1. Take your x and z coordinates, subtract 1, and divide by 16 and you have the chunk coordinate you're in.

Swamps are best if you plan on doing IC2 crops, plus the water helps isolate where hostiles can spawn and IC2 rubber trees are most common in them. Remember that surface land is a minor concern, you can build floating airships, underwater glass habitats, or clear out a massive underground cavern for build space quite easily. I'm partial to towers myself. Clear out a chunk from bedrock to sky ceiling and you've got easily enough space to build anything you want.

Preaching to the choir brutha. In the past there was a mod in place that removed the chance of loss, until alblaka added the lossless mode. Before lossless more people were losing mass fabs and other expensive machines to a completely unavoidable game mechanic.

So, who has theirs so far? Mine finally came in the mail yesterday, and damn am I geeking out over this thing.

Ah, whoops, I meant nano armor.

Could be someone set the server's mod config files to auto-assign IDs.

No, but he is Too Big To Fail.

But we're trying to stimulate the post economy! We must not save our posts, we must get them out into circulation to generate new posts. Deficit posting is truly the only way to grow the post economy. It's completely un-Technicmerican not to be thousands of posts in debt. Saving posts is for communists.

A new Idea for the Technic team! Technic team please read!!

Strategy guide isn't needed. Kaker hacked paypal so it skims half of all donations to the modders for himself. He's also making $1.30 per hundred views of the webpage. And the client is written to fake an ad click, netting him another buck every time you start the launcher. Not the mention the launcher harvests your minecraft account for nefarious purposes. And finally he's the owner of the hosting company, so the hosting fees he pays to himself. I didn't know any of this until the pleasant chaps over in the IC2 forums clued me in. Kaker is making cash hand over fist with this place. Probably already having problems sitting in that second helipad at his next mansion for the week. -
I never hit the nether without a set of quantum armor, a mining turtle, and 10 stacks of cobble. Quick shell of cobble to break ghast LOS then let the turtle build large walkways to interesting stuff.
