D4vg Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Ok, I am a little confused and frankly, every thread of the topic ends up in arguements about NOTHING this topic has to do with. Is the most recent release of the Technic (or Tekkit) pack for 1.2.5 ONLY? I would like to play it but updated to 1.3.1. I don't mind downgrading but am I correct? Thanks!
DarkDyer Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Yes, both packs are used for 1.2.5 only. The modders haven't gotten around to updating them as of yet. :)
milcondoin Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Technic and Tekkit are 1.2.5 currently. A 1.3.1 version will come out, when enough mods have been upgraded, so a first dev version can be released. The admins are the only ones who can define "enough" in this context. We will know that "enough" has been reached, when we see the first dev version.
jakj Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Don't expect it anytime soon: Not even Forge, the mod that other mods are built upon, is ready for 1.3.1. And no, don't blame Forge: The 1.3 line is a paradigm shift for Minecraft modding overall, even for those who already knew SMP modding, so the learning and progression curve just spiked up a sheer cliff's face.
Lothos Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 the threads end up in arguments because the info you want is on the technic homepage. and frankly, even without them you should gathered from the other threads that technic/tekkit isn't up to 1.3 yet let alone 1.3.1
reptar Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 You don't have to downgrade however, the technic launcher does it for you
freakachu Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 there's also the fact that when you run the game, you can hit f3 and it will tell you what version of minecraft you're running.
Ihysoal Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 1.3 brought along the SSP run on SMP-code change didn't it? I think it will be lovely to see technic pack finally be available for SMP

Pulse95 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 It may never move past 1.2.5 or it will be even better after the update, nobody knows what the hell Mojang is going to put into the game. We shall see in 1.4, but as for 1.3 I do not think we will see a Technic/Tekkit.
NightKev Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Why not? Unless 70% of the mods never update I don't see any reason it would stop.
freakachu Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 in all likelihood, 70% of the mods won't update. at least that's my guess.
jakj Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Wow, that's pessimistic. I prefer cynicism because it leaves room for accidental happiness. I think a few mods will go by the wayside, but from what the big ones have said on their threads and on Teamspeak on dire's server play, not to mention how many already were SMP or were working on becoming SMP before 1.3 even hit, the loss will be 10%, tops.
