Pay to play? sure i would love to if......

yeah Pay $$$ to Play on a Legit Server. im tired of free crap ( you get what you pay for ) so i donate.

there was gentleman on youtube who played on a server that required payment.

i understand running a FINE server isnt cheap and i am more than willing to help out. i get so sick of kids being Pita's. and if paying to play rescues me from the heathens and helps run a Healthy server ( 20TPS / Plenty of Ram/ etc) that would be great.

here is an accurance from earlier today, on the server i currently play on i inquired about buying bonus plots through towny's /town buy bonus command for mayors, i need bonus plots because im geting into Railcraft, My oil reserves are far out of town and if the whole railcraft circuit isnt protected by towny Administration will not fix griefing, Teleport pipes are not working and also do not get any answers when asked about in forums/chat.

Im just an adult player try to find a place to play during my off time.

The best servers are run by people who care and cater for their playerbase first,

and then accept money on appreciation of the good job they've done.

Having to pay for things like grief protection, and whining for more cash/pay to play is usually by admins who don't really give a rat's arse.

Conversely, if the admins genuinely need the money for just month by month maintenance, then perhaps a rethink is required.

Receiving donations is a privilege, not an accessory to dish out rewards and power.

Just have a look round, and you will always find the right server. Don't just feel the need to stick around because you've already got a house, it's the staff and people on servers that matter more.

Most definitively -The_DarthMoogle- i dont think its a big enough following, the 3-4 i have heard of have shutdown. i figured it was worth a shot for a chance a paradise... i guess alot of owners/admins and etc are just getting burnt out. Maybe im just about to get over the tekkit addiction soon

I run a fairly popular tekkit server, by no means the best though. If you google my name Im sure you'll manage to find it (If you dont just look up superfuntime). I plan on posting an advertisement here soon, but right now I'm getting ready to do a 100% reset on the server so I can try and fine-tune the balance of the gameplay and economy. The server has 24GB ram/i5 2500k and is usually pretty lag-free.

Depends where you go I guess, my ISP hosts a tekkit server and so far there has not been any griefing whatsoever. I'm guessing the whitelisting process is working pretty well.

So you're going to base your experience off of a player on the server? Fair enough. I wouldn't, but that's just me.

I'm not going to blow smoke up your tiny butthole and say that -everyone- is super nice. They're not. As I stated in my previous post, I play there and I have a low tolerance for asshattery, laziness and flat out stupidity. Those things do run a bit on the high side during certain hours but the one thing SGT does seem to keep at bay to great effect, are griefers. The grey list process does a decent job filtering out the undesirables and although an occasional person slips through and griefs, steals, or what have you, the response is pretty quick to fix whatever they did.

If you read the rules, pay attention to the details, you'll do just fine there... in fact you'll probably do better than a lot of people there. But if you're going to let one comment from a player make your decision for you, that's your deal. But it's also your loss.

i would not join a pay to play server. Cause lots of admins are just setting up a server and dont really care about the players and server performance.

We (www.fartgaming.net) are running a vanilla and a tekkit server. (2nd tekkit server will launch soon). We do care a lot of our Players and about he server running at constant minimum 18TPS. We, the owners, coders, and the rest of the staff team doing our best to run an awesome server.

The only thing donaters get what "normal" players cant get is to set multiple homes. All the other benefits donators get can get earned by "normal" too.

If you got a fast server with no lag and a constant 20 Tickrate, you will have no problems making your hard work worth it, cause people are so happy to get a fast and stable server with nice staff. That the even ask how to donate. If you offer a fast and easy way to donate like buycraft, you will get donations.

Those are the awesome people. The people who see how much work it is to set up a good server and keep in running on a high quality value.

I've been a Minecraft server owner for over 15 years now so I can do all the technical crap for you while you worry about the creativity of your server.

More than half the money covers the hosting... The rest is for my time and expertise.

Hell no, brah. 1 year+ Bukkit server. I've gotten to the point where whenever a new player joins and they say they're from PM, they automatically lose any human rights in my server and then I tp them to me and kill them over and over again in different ways until they leave.
