0 mitch-the-plaid Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I've been trying to install the Pure BDCraft pack and I'm having the same problem. Also on a mac. With vanilla minecraft we mac users just drag minecraft into the texture pack folder, I've no idea what to do with the technic launcher, any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
0 Forum Administrators KakerMix Posted March 11, 2012 Forum Administrators Posted March 11, 2012 You put them in the same place you would with minecraft, just in the .techniclauncher/technicssp -or- /tekkit folders. Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 could you so some step by step stuff? when i search both of those i don't get any files with those names. it would be a huge help. thanks Quote
0 mitch-the-plaid Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 You put them in the same place you would with minecraft, just in the .techniclauncher/technicssp -or- /tekkit folders. This does't work and it's not how textures are added to vanilla minecraft on macs either. Quote
0 jeroengroen Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I've had the same problem... The solution is really simple: Go to your technicssp/texturepack folder and put the texture pack in there as the origional ZIP! not as a folder... Then it should work :) Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 where should the file be? i looked under all my docs and couldn't find it. the only thing that comes up is the physical launcher. :o Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 the only texture pack file that comes up is the one for the actual minecraft. Quote
0 xxmikegigsxx Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I'm not gonna lie you guys are a little dense. I'm on a mac and I have texture packs. Since you may be impaired just go to finder and hit command-shift-g. Then type in "~/library/application support/techniclauncher". Next just click what ever you want the texture pack to be in, technic, tekkit, etc. Finally click texure packs folder and just put the .zip file there. Quote

0 ErusPrime Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 This is why fruit rollups have a label that says "remove cellophane before eating" 1) download your texture pack. It should be a zip file. 2) look inside the zip file. Sometimes they'll be a pack of multiple texture packs (like doku or tronic). 3) as long as it's just one zip file then you'll... 3) move your texture pack to Windows Technic: %appdata%\.techniclauncher\technicssp\texturepacks Tekkit: %appdata%\.techniclauncher\tekkit\texturepacks I don't know the exact location on mac or linux but I don't expect the file structure will have changed much. 0 xxmikegigsxx Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 They kind of specifically said mac :P Quote
0 mitch-the-plaid Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Thank you all for the helpful, albeit exasperated responses! I managed to get the texture pack into the folder, and it does read in the game now, however for some reason I can't select it... Anyway, the point is that I'm closer, so I'll fiddle around with it and hopefully I'll finally be saved from the horrors of vanilla. Anyway, thanks again! EDIT: BADABOOM! Got it working, thanks again everyone! Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 how did you get it working? i also have the folder now but even after patching with mcpatcher for hd textures, it just shows up as black and white and won't work. Quote
0 Valkon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 how did you get it working? i also have the folder now but even after patching with mcpatcher for hd textures, it just shows up as black and white and won't work. Why did you use MCpatcher? Optifine (part of technic/tekkit) contains built-in HD texture pack support. Quote
0 Valkon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 You put the .zip file in ~/library/application support/techniclauncher/technicssp/texturepacks or ~/library/application support/techniclauncher/tekkit/texturepacks, depending on which one you want the texture pack in. Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 the optifine .zip or the compressed texture pack .zip Quote
0 Valkon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The texture pack .zip, optifine should already be installed. Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 I'm trying to use the purebdcraft texture pack but i can't find the zip. can you recommend any others.thanks Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 if i compress it i get a zip but when i put that into the texture pack folder it still just shows up as a black and white image of the default texture when i select texture packs in the game. :o Quote
0 Valkon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 When you download the texture pack it should already be a .zip file. That's the file you're supposed to put in. Quote
0 vestererer Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 ok i finally got it to work right.i searched .zip in finder out of frustration and found some .zip files for painterly and smp revival. they are not technic compatible but ill try and find some that actually work. thanks for all the help Quote
0 merlinviolet Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I am having this problem as well. While creating an HD texture pack for tekkit, I was testing it and found it wouldn't load when I clicked on it's icon in the texture packs menu. Yes I DID compress it to a zip, and after some tests it seems this only happens with HD texture packs. My OS is also a Mac. Is there some problem or do HD technic/tekkit texture packs simply do not work on Macs? EDIT: I am using Tekkit 2.1.1 My Java version is 64 bit Quote
0 vestererer Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 Did you open up the folder and compress the contents or did you just compress the whole file? it only works if you compress whats in the file and put it into the texture folder. Quote
