Rule Board on Monitor

Recommended Posts

I have seen on many servers that they have there rule board on there monitor, which happens to be in colors, i would love to know how to do that, if anyone that could teach me, that would be great.

Sincerely,

doctormayhem

Scrolling is gay. You have to wait for it to scroll and it strains your eyes. Go on my server to see rule/banned items/tips/etc. on monitors in action.

The IP can be found here.

I find that using the term gay in that way is offensive.

I find that making an entire post just to complain about something like that is gay. When I want to say something stupid, I at least have the decency to make sure to say something relevant/useful alongside it to weight it out. Like this...

I forgot to say - I find it easy to write the info on a text file, with a line of equal signs equal to the width of the screen, so I know where the line breaks are and it doesn't end up looking all gay. Then you can have Lua read the file line by line and it looks super straight on your monitor. :)

As do most people in real life.

When you say stuff like this in response to a (legitimate) request to STFU, it tells people that you think "gay" is an insult or indicates stupidity. Get it? Good. Consider yourself warned.

Exactly... I was warned twice for calling a particular action happy. It's called non-profane sarcastic slang. -_-

Nobody is buying it, and nobody WILL buy it anywhere outside of minecraft either. Maybe it will require you getting fired from a job or two or screwing up a few dates before it sinks in, but I hope not.

You're lucky to get negative repercussions in a videogame forum, which isn't all that important, first. If you're smart, you'll take it to heart now and avoid yourself the embarrassment later in a situation where it matters more for your life.

Next time try reading the rules here before posting about rules... That might help

I think you have the wrong guy, the one who was screwing up this thread wasn't doctor, it was VideoBoy.

Doctor, I'm not certain, but I've never seen monitors print in colour. Check out the ComputerCraft wiki, you should find any information there.

You are correct. He still didn't read the rules though.

They sorta can but its only a local change. IIRC

All you need is a computer and some monitors.

C = 0

While C == 0 do

print("Whatever")

sleep(1)

end

and you need your startup to be:

shell.run("monitor", "right", "[above program]")

Probably a syntax error or two, havnt written in LUA recently.
