Archidae Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 When I went into the Nether I discovered there were absolutely no Nether Ores in sight. I loaded a new single player world and my current single player world to see if the ores were there, they weren't. They are not on my multiplayer server either, but I can still give myself the ores and place them with no errors. I am also getting this after the "loading NEI" appears in the server. "2013-03-17 12:24:17 [iNFO] [sTDOUT] Loading NEI 2013-03-17 12:24:18 [iNFO] [ForgeModLoader] Unloading dimension 1 2013-03-17 12:24:18 [iNFO] [ForgeModLoader] Unloading dimension -23 2013-03-17 12:24:27 [sEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] Detected leaking worlds in memory. Dunvasa Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I too am getting this error. Went through what appears to be a dimension portal, and then eventually ended up in a dark void with nothing in it. The console log said something about overloading and more leaking Quote
Steeled Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 @Dunvasa It seems like you are describing one of the new mods added as of 0.6.0+, which is Dimensional Doors (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1650007-147smpssplan-dimensional-doors-v121-physics-what-physics-the-dungeon-update/). I suppose if the changelog on the Tekkit Lite page was updated you would know this (heh). Quote
FinnTroll420 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 So can you find nether ores in the dimensions opened by the doors? Or are they just gone altogether? I tried deleting the dimensional doors mod and then creating a new instance of tekkitlite in multimc hoping that I would find ores in my nether, but that was not the case. Personally I would much rather have nether ores than have pocket dimensions. Can you help me? Quote

FinnTroll420 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I'm pretty new with all this stuff (got minecraft two days ago) but that does not look right to me Quote
FinnTroll420 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Im going to check 1. How tall the nether is then, 2. If changing that value will have any effect, assuming the nether is indeed 128 blocks tall. Quote
FinnTroll420 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 So I flew upward and started destroying blocks to get to the top and guess what I found? Mother fucking nether coal in the roof between 118 and 125. (The nether is 128 tall after all when standing on the bedrock that is the roof.) So I say change the value of the minimums and youll get your spawns. Especially since now that I think about it I know that nether Diamonds are supposed to spawn below 20. So try it. Its worth a shot right? Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 18, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted March 18, 2013 You config is like mine except that I have no "MinY" specified for any of the ores. Try just removing those lines and see what you get. Edit: It seems that this is a change to the config file included in 0.6.0 and up (specifically NetherOres 2.0.6 and up). Not sure what is going on with that since I can't imagine having both MinY and MaxY set to the same value is correct. Quote
Archidae Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 So what do I need to do to my config to make the ores spawn normally? I don't have the Min/Max things in my config. theprolo Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 This is NetherOres, Archidae. That's the Ic2 config... Quote
Reggie88 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I compared the 0.5.7 version of the NetherOres.cfg and noticed that the "I:ore<Type>MinY=" string wasn't in it. So i checked what happend if i removed them and when loading the server, the .cfg file recreated it self but this time the the value of "I:ore<Type>MinY=" was set to 1. I then made a fresh world whit the new .cfg file and all the ores was back:) #################### # worldgen #################### worldgen { I:oreCoalBlocksPerGroup=16 I:oreCoalGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreCoalMaxY=128 I:oreCoalMinY=1 I:oreCopperBlocksPerGroup=8 I:oreCopperGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreCopperMaxY=128 I:oreCopperMinY=1 I:oreDiamondBlocksPerGroup=3 I:oreDiamondGroupsPerChunk=4 I:oreDiamondMaxY=128 I:oreDiamondMinY=1 I:oreEmeraldBlocksPerGroup=2 I:oreEmeraldGroupsPerChunk=3 I:oreEmeraldMaxY=128 I:oreEmeraldMinY=1 I:oreGoldBlocksPerGroup=6 I:oreGoldGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreGoldMaxY=128 I:oreGoldMinY=1 I:oreGreenSapphireBlocksPerGroup=3 I:oreGreenSapphireGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreGreenSapphireMaxY=128 I:oreGreenSapphireMinY=1 I:oreIronBlocksPerGroup=8 I:oreIronGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreIronMaxY=128 I:oreIronMinY=1 I:oreLapisBlocksPerGroup=6 I:oreLapisGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreLapisMaxY=128 I:oreLapisMinY=1 I:oreLeadBlocksPerGroup=6 I:oreLeadGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreLeadMaxY=128 I:oreLeadMinY=1 I:oreNikoliteBlocksPerGroup=4 I:oreNikoliteGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreNikoliteMaxY=128 I:oreNikoliteMinY=1 I:oreRedstoneBlocksPerGroup=8 I:oreRedstoneGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreRedstoneMaxY=128 I:oreRedstoneMinY=1 I:oreRubyBlocksPerGroup=3 I:oreRubyGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreRubyMaxY=128 I:oreRubyMinY=1 I:oreSapphireBlocksPerGroup=3 I:oreSapphireGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreSapphireMaxY=128 I:oreSapphireMinY=1 I:oreSilverBlocksPerGroup=4 I:oreSilverGroupsPerChunk=6 I:oreSilverMaxY=128 I:oreSilverMinY=1 I:oreTinBlocksPerGroup=8 I:oreTinGroupsPerChunk=8 I:oreTinMaxY=128 I:oreTinMinY=1 I:oreUraniumBlocksPerGroup=2 I:oreUraniumGroupsPerChunk=3 I:oreUraniumMaxY=128 I:oreUraniumMinY=1 } Changed all the "I:ore<Type>MinY=" to 1 Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 18, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted March 18, 2013 That works. You can actually just remove the "MinY" lines and it will put them back in for you at the correct value (1 in this case) Quote
Archidae Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Oops. Okay. Though before I do anything with this, if I change the values will I have to make an entirely new server to have them fixed or will it automatically fix them on the server I have? I don't want to edit it and then have my multiplayer server destroyed because of it. Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 18, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted March 18, 2013 It won't change anything in your current nether world for chunks that have already been generated. It will have the new placements for any subsequently generated chunks. If you don't have extensive nether installations just have people pull anything they want out and smoke the nether and let it regenerate. Quote
Archidae Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 I'm unfamiliar with all this, what is "smoking" a map? Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 19, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted March 19, 2013 Ahh, I just meant deleting the files in the nether folder on the server would delete the nether and it would get regenerated with the proper ores Quote
Archidae Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Ah alright. One more question. I found a DIM-23 folder in my multiplayer server folder. Do you know what that is? I feel like it shouldn't be there. Quote
Reggie88 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I beleive that DIM-23 belongs to the Dimensional Doors mod Quote
Archidae Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Oh okay. Thank you. That's all my questions answered. Glad this is a helpful forum. Quote
Malawi Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Does anyone know if the nether-ore spawning is minimized due to an error, or because there are some problems with nether ores in Tekkit Lite 0.6.1? Quote
Steeled Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Does anyone know if the nether-ore spawning is minimized due to an error, or because there are some problems with nether ores in Tekkit Lite 0.6.1? I turned all my MinY values back to 1, and so far I'm having no problems after two days of playing (not straight lol). Quote
Malawi Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Guess it should be alright then, thanks. BTW: I don't really see the relevance of your sexual orientation here... :-P Quote
HiFarGone Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Is the MinY value always 1? Will this allow spawning of more valuable resources at higher elevations in the world? I uninstalled my previous version of tekkit and wasn't able to compare it to an older version of the configuration file... Quote
