Darkwood71 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I just noticed that my redstone energy cells are discharging when I have them in my inventory. Has it always worked like this? I never noticed it before, so I wanted to check with others before submitting a bug report.
Retagin Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Are they powering something in your inventory or on you like power armor? I don't think they will do this, but otherwise the energy cells should not be discharging.

Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 14, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted May 14, 2013 RS energy cells' stored energy will be consumed by power armor. I'm not sure if this is intended, but that is how it currently works.

King Lemming Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I believe that MPS is getting tweaked a bit so this won't always happen. On my end, I'm adding batteries meant for this and may change the functionality of the Cell so that MPS doesn't see it as a valid item for draining.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 14, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted May 14, 2013 Portable batteries, machine upgrades, puppies... what's next KL? World peace?
cerevox Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 That actually seems like a pretty useful function. Redstone energy cells hold a lot of power. Perhaps we could have an upgrade to the MPS to allow it to drain from different types of batteries so we could configure it in-game? Or is that even feasible? Or is that in your department, so to speak?

Teraku Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Is there any way to change how much MJ the Powersuits cost to recharge? The cost is stupidly high at the moment, I need 2 full Redstone Energy Cells to half-recharge my suit. The built-in solar panel upgrade is actually more effective than 5 Magmatic Engines.
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 15, 2013 Discord Moderator Posted May 15, 2013 Teraku: it's an option in the config. D:"Energy per MJ"=1.0 The higher you make that, the less MJ you need to charge. I've left mine alone (and I typically lower something things like that <glances strongly in the direction of the default 25% energy loss through tesseracts>) since I figured if you want to have millions of units of charge in a MPS there are ways to manage that in a balanced way.
Coco12570 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I was tinkering with the modpack (Trying to find a config with the tesseract loss) and found the D:"Energy per MJ":1.0. Powersuits never charged so easily

Ah, that's great. Thanks. I'll definitely crank that up to 2 or 3 to start with.
