dragonnova Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I havent played technic/mc for about 6 months and i just started again and am trying to figure out what the happend. as far as i can tell 1.ee is gone or at least made to be not op (which was why I liked it) all ee items I remember are gone. 2.ic2 has lost most of its good items 3. thumbc4raft is gone 4.mo creatures is gone I'm really frustrated all my favorite items are gone.
cerevox Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 EE2 is no longer updating, EE3 is what is in the pack, and it is pretty much only minum stone currently. EE2 never got past MC 1.2.5 IIRC. IC2 is no longer updating, the author hasn't updated in 6+ months and is MIA. When you say it has lost most of its good items, you mean to say it is out completely and has no items at all. TC2 is no longer updating, Azanor is working on TC3 but until it has a full release he has restricted it to only a few modpacks. Azanor is cool, I am sure we will get something awesome eventually. Dunno on mo creatures, but I bet google would tell me what is up with it. I'm really frustrated that time didn't stop for 6 months.
dragonnova Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 I didn't want time to stop for 6 months, I just didn't expect to find all of my favorite mods had stopped updating and none still work...(I cant be the only one who is annoyed by all these really cool mods no longer working)
Melfice Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 You can always play Tekkit Lite if you still want to play with IC². It's still in there. Unfortunately, Tekkit Lite is most likely stuck at 1.4.7. I've seen vague rumours, I think from CanVox himself, that it might update at some point in the future, but when, on what conditions and in what way... I don't know. It might not even be true, and I might be misremembering things. At any rate, Tekkit Lite is the way to go if you want to stick to IC². But I suggest you check out the new Tekkit regardless. Thermal Expansion does a lot of things IC² did, and does it (in my, and many others', opinion) better.
Dash16 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Is it that time of day again? How many of these "I miss IC2" threads must we endure before we lose our minds? Message Board admins, PLEASE CREATE A STICKY THREAD detailing IC2's demise. I'll even write it up for you, in a neutral, logical, diplomatic way.
Dash16 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Also, why does no one care about redpower Because it's deader than IC2, and more thoroughly replaced. Almost everything in RP2 has an equivalent in the new Tekkit, if you look hard enough.
Teraku Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Microblocks are 100% replaced with Immibis' Microblocks, and the microblocks can be removed in Creative without having to punch LMB 10 times, and work with any opaque decorative block, even those added by mods. RedPower Logic and Wiring is replaced by RedNet, which is superior to RP2's logic system. Not sure if Immibis' Cover Plates work on RedNet Wires, but okay. Lighting has been replaced by Thermal Expansion's lighting, which looks very, very pretty. Seriously, kudos to the developers for this. That's pretty much it.
diamondeye83 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I really need to learn rednet... I dont think frames, solar/wind powered engines, and color-coded/bundled wires have been replaced, but i'm probably just missing it... Are they there?
Dash16 Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Frames are about the only thing that have yet to be replaced, by any mod, anywhere. Solar/wind engines are IC2. Rednet wires replace color-coded and bundled wires.

You should read these forums a little more (I recommend the What's New link at the top) as jakj has been working on a replacement for a while now http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/all-carriages-implemented-wip-redstone-in-motion-june-8-testing-version-9.45583/page-9

Should I read everything that everyone has ever written on every part of the Technicpack boards? Thanks for the source of info about frames, but thumbs down for the condescending manner in which it was delivered. I really only care about what is relevant to Tekkit and spend my time in this forum, the bug report forum for Tekkit, or the Wiki.

Wow, way to take the wrong way When I recommended the What's New I meant so you can see topics as they crop up I don't read every topic in every section, I read what looks interesting, to find that I use What's New
Dash16 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Sorry if it seemed like I overreacted, but my interpretation of 'read the forums a little more' was 'lol noob, of course frames are coming rtfm!'. I feel like I am spending way more time on these forums than is healthy, so reading them a little more might cost me my job .

Lethosos Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 To be fair, the Mod Makers' Market isn't a hotbed of activity, so anything new there is going to be fairly interesting.
