Zexzeon
Ok I play on a server and started messing with pumps. I got a water pump going and such. But when I go to pump oil this happens. They are at full force and nothing. So I went to single player and started messing with it. And it worked using the same thing. So what am I doing wrong? D:< I would like to start making fuel without moving oil by the bucket. Any help would be nice.
Valkon
There's a good chance that's not oil, and is actually sludge. Try using a bucket on it and seeing what the resulting filled bucket is named.
Calvariae
That's not oil, it's sludge. I believe sludge can only be picked up with a bucket. A good rule of thumb is that sludge is transparent while oil is completely opaque. Ninja'd again.

Calvariae
Wiki to the rescue! http://wiki.technicpack.net/Sludge Ain't nobody read that shit. On a related note, I edited the page a bit and added a picture - the sludge texture from the MCR files, though all you can see is a black square (I tried). Teraku
oil fabricator works like a champ. Yes, it does. Not sure how that's relevant, though.
jdk201
Yes, it does. Not sure how that's relevant, though. A much easier alternative to what he is doing? How is that not relevant?
Teraku
A much easier alternative to what he is doing? How is that not relevant? Ah, now I see what you mean. But I'm pretty sure he was trying to pump oil, which it turned out to be sludge. Honestly, what's the point of oil fabricators anyway? They need energy, and produce oil. What are you going to do with that oil? Produce energy?

jdk201
I figured he was making fuel for a rocket. Yes a fabricator would not be a good idea if you want oil as the source of your power. Using oil for power is too much of a pain in the arse imo.
Teraku
Produce Rocket Fuel, fly to the moon. Argh, I always forget about GalactiCraft.
TokiWartooth
Is an oil factory hooked to a refinery hooked to combustion engines powering the oil factory energy positive - neutral or negative?
