Tiechie Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 How do i make oil flow out of a pipe. I want to fill up a storage tank which i built myself that's just for cosmetics, but when the oil gets to the end of the pipe it just goes back on its self. Thanks for any advice. Quote
Digdug83 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Oil will flow out of the pump naturally without any work on your part and continue on through pipes so long as there's somewhere to go. If you connect the pipes to any sort of storage container, like a BC tank for example, it'll accumulate there and empty out of the pipe. However, it won't move from the tank unless you attach a wodden waterproof pipe to the tank and put an engine on the wooden pipe to power it. Then it will flow to wherever you want. Quote
Tiechie Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 i put a tank at end with a wooden waterproof pipe with a redstone engine. But the oil is still not flowing out and into my own tank Quote
Tiechie Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Here's what i mean http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/rgkn.png/ it kinda just gathers at the end of the pipe but wont flow out. Quote

Valkon Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I think I see what you're trying to do. I assume you want the oil to dump out of the pipe and into the container you built out of marble below it? Thing is, pipes don't work like that. The oil will just stop if the pipeline ends. However, based on the ruby sword and the EE2 band it appears that you're on Tekkit Classic, which means that you could use RedPower fluid pipes and grates to transfer oil in that way. You'd have to bucket out the oil you already have in your tank manually, though, since fluid pipes don't connect to BuildCraft tanks. Or waterproofed pipes. They only interface with the source blocks themselves. Quote

dwwojcik Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Tekkit Classic has it's own section. >_> In upcoming versions of Buildcraft there's a new block called the "floodgate" that does exactly what you are looking for. Just sayin'. Quote

dwwojcik Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 excellent! been wanting something along those lines. Yep, and finally fuel is placeable in the world. It has always bugged me that it wasn't. Quote

Yes, oil also catches fire now as well. But, since that's the case, I wonder if fuel will explode or something? Quote
