Made_You_Look
I want to make my Technic portable via USB, so I can play it wherever I go. (read: School when I'm bored ) Is it possible? I've already seen and posted on a thread about moving the location of .techniclauncher, but no-one responded to this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated, keeping in mind I'm pretty nooby at the technical aspect of computers. ^_^
1 vidplace7
This is EASY to do It's pretty much a 3 step process. 1. Install the JPortable Java Runtime found on http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable this will allow you to launch the technic launcher on any (windows) computer, even computers that don't have Java installed 2. Install the JPortable Java Launcher found on http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/java_portable_launcher this is an easy interface to open the technic-launcher.jar in 3. Download the (JAR) version of the Technic Launcher and put it in the "E:/JavaPortableLauncher/Data" directory (replace E:/ with your flash drive's drive letter). Now you can run the launcher by starting it from the JavaPortableLauncher.exe, the appdata folder is automatically stored in the "Data" folder on the flash drive. *Extra Note* if minecraft.net is blocked at your school you will need to launch your desired modpack once on a computer where it is not blocked in order to play "Offline Mode" at school or other locations Hope this helped :D

0 Made_You_Look
Hey, I did what you said, but I'm getting an error: jPortable Launcher cannot be started. You may wish to re-install to fix the issue. (ERROR: jPortable [http://PortableApps.com/jPortable could not be found) I tried reinstalling, no dice. This is probably really obvious to fix, but like I said, I'm not good with the technical side of things.

MAKE SURE that you have installed the base JPortable correctly, the file structure should look something like E:/CommonFiles/JPortable when installed on your flash drive

Hi i have had this problem and this is because your school has blocked the command prompt program. this is what the portable version relies on to change the directory of your Technic and launch the game. i have asked the same question but asked if it was possible by doing it without the command prompt. check here: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/how-do-i-change-the-position-of-the-techniclauncher-folder.22356/ in the future and it may have some answers
0 PieLover
Here's another option you could try: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1400400-portable-minecraft-manager-multiple-installs-custom-memory-jportable-portableapps-compatible/ It allows you to add as many Minecraft installs as you want, supports Technic, and works with jPortable. 0 StrucK_Creepe
Hello You can use the portable install option. Simply. 1. run the technic installer. 2.Choose "Portable Install". 3. Set it to the location of the usb drive.
