itstimeforadventure Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I noticed that the vanilla platform is now on 1.7.9 but the one for technic pack has it on 1.7.5, if there is a way to just update it myself that would be nice. But I can't get the regular minecraft launcher which is why I am on technic pack mainly.
disconsented Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 "But I can't get the regular minecraft launcher" What? Why?
itstimeforadventure Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 School computer, and they directly blocked anything that runs the actual coding for the original minecraft launcher. So because technic runs the programs off of website and loads it in to make it work, it ends up not being able to be blocked.
itstimeforadventure Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 Now the server I play on for factions is on 1.7.9 like omg QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ
itstimeforadventure Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 I do, do work at school lol. I am at home and want to play minecraft. How about heres a tip. be helpful.
GenPage Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I do, do work at school lol. I am at home and want to play minecraft. How about heres a tip. be helpful. You are not going to get any help with that kind of attitude

itstimeforadventure Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 really unhelpful. I bring home the laptop. And I can use it for homework and other things, too reason why minecraft was blocked originally is because people used it at school during class.
Valkon Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 So the laptop is the school's property, then. If the school says you're not allowed to use the laptops they provide for Minecraft, well, that's too bad. On the bright side, though, since the Technic Launcher still works you can still play somewhat outdated versions of Minecraft with mods. Which if you ask me I'd take that over updated vanilla Minecraft any day.
Gio² Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Here's a tip: Stop being a nine-year old. Seriously. Get your own PC. Edited May 18, 2014 by Gio² dwwojcik, Kocken926 and TheBytemaster 3
itstimeforadventure Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 yeah when you're not helping the situation.
Valkon Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 yeah when you're not helping the situation. So far you've called everyone in this thread unhelpful. Even when they are helping you. And I think my solution (i.e. playing outdated but modded minecraft) is just fine, if not preferable. Hell, I'd take the old Technic 3 pack for Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 over the current vanilla Minecraft. I still have it on my hard drive.
Loader Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 What a world we live in now. We live in a time when people complain about not being able to play games on their school computer - that they're allowed to take home! I'd be interested to know how many people here went to a school that would lend them a calculator they'd take home, or even a pen! What awesome school is this?
freakachu Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 "unhelpful" does not mean "not giving me the exact answer I wanted, no matter how unreasonable". we aren't going to a) divine your school's laptop imaging and management setup and then tell you how to break it. additionally, updating vanilla in the launcher isn't a high priority because generally, if you're using the launcher you want to play with mods. sorry but it'll be updated when it's updated.
