For those that know Linux etc, dont search for any provider that is "Minecraft specialist". Any host will do that provides Java and access using Putty etc.

Mem isnt the issue eighter, whats more important is the CPU speed, internettline and disks. RAM is tbh overrated. We have 12gig of ram, we can need days without a restart to use all of that ... Connection, CPU (6-8x core shit isnt what u are looking for tbh) and enough diskspace, search for that, and you should be good to go :)

Thought I would post my specs.

RAM: 1GB

PLUGINS: ESSENTIALS (Thats it!)

PROCESSOR: 2GHZ

SLOTS: 30

We get next to no lag, apart from the occasional block lag. However, we haven't been doing many lag intensive things. Just a couple of quarries.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I've decided to wait a couple of days before I buy the server, because I'm currently in Hospital at the moment, and I've only just realized that the Hospital's wifi must block a port or something because I can't connect to Minecraft servers. :( So no point of me buying it now... It's sad because I wanted the server so I had something to do while I was in here XD. Oh well.

That sounds highly improbable..

I pesonaly prefer vanquishvps. they have many different sized servers with great prices. i rent my server from them and havent had one problem! they have FTP(install your own things with filezilla) and good control panel. You can install tekkit and they have great customer support! go check them out at vanquishvps.com

Prices seems reasonable. How is the Server performance?

Do you get a default port number?

Instead of buying a server, I'd just take the cheapest route and set up my own. The server hosting software is free and free is my favorite price.
