Question

I don't have access to the internet all the time, but I'd still like to play Tekkit. But I can't. There's no option for Offline Mode, and when trying to login, it just gives the error "Can't authenticate to Minecraft.net".

Is there still a way to go into offline mode after having already logged in and played online once?

(No, I'm not a pirate. I have paid for Minecraft.)

there is an offline mode. if there's no net connection, it goes into offline mode and will let you play as long as you've logged in online once on that machine before. rejoice, your problem is solved!

Tekkit is useless without being able to connect to a server to play, so there is that. But like was already said, there is an offline mod, exactly like Vanilla minecraft's launcher. You go to fire it up, it will run in offline mode if it doesn't detect a net connection.

Unfortunately, if minecraft's auth servers are down for whatever reason (Been happening quite a lot lately), the launcher does not detect that as a trigger for offline mode.

In such cases, you can get it to run by disconnecting from the net before running the launcher.

Yeah, I figured that out the first time, and that's what I do when MC is down. There's also a handy website to see if MC is really down. (http://mc.nexua.org)

Why does it work like that? o_O I think a new launcher update is in due. Also, I once got a "Can't connect to minecraft.net. Play Offline Mode?" window, when I had internet but imo MC login servers were down. What's that?

These are mojangs problems, not ours. Offline mode is the same as the normal mc, and needing to connect to mcs auth servers to play online is not something we have control over. "A new launcher update" won't fix these issues.

Sure, all of this works, if you have to log in using your username. I can't login with my username because my account was migrated. It's because I have bought Cobalt with my Minecraft.net account. I have to login with my email.

Even disconnecting from the internet doesn't work in that case. I can click my name all I want, input my username as many times as I want, but it'll either do nothing when I click Login (Absolutely nothing) or spew out an error.

Download a new version of the launcher. Account migrations were supported a while ago. Delete the lastlogin file to clear the old username

Screen%20shot%202012-07-29%20at%2012.34.I have a similar problem, when I try to open the launcher while offline this comes up. "The action "Run AppleScript" encountered and error. Check the action's properties and try running the workflow again." Can someone please help? I tried reinstalling the launcher from the website several times but it still doesn't work. Another thing is that when I have a connection, it opens fine and stays open even if the connection goes away. P.s I'm on a Mac. Thanks :)
