Backplague Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I want to make automatic lights when its dark outside, but the light sensor seems to only be off when it is completely dark. Is there any way for it to be off when it is night? Quote
Iscamania Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 No idea... But why don't you just try some different situations? Should be fun. Or are you just the lazy type? Then you shouldn't play at all... Quote
Backplague Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 I figured that by making a 6 blocks long 3x3 hollow tube, placing the sensor in the back facing the other end and having the end the sensor if facing at open. This tube simply filters some of the light outside so the sensor is in a dark enough place when its night and in a bright enough place when its day. Just make sure it wont get any excess light at all, eg. place the tube in a high position, away from all your lights. Quote
danidas Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 You can adjust how sensitive it is by shift right clicking it with a screwdriver. A lot of the new and old logic items now have new functions if you shift right click them. Quote
Leshrack Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I used a solar panel -> batbox -> a few illuminators and a EU-detector cable in between the solar panel and batbox to get RP signal, after that i just ran it through a NOT gate and voila lights when its about to get dark Quote
Forum Administrators sct Posted May 30, 2012 Forum Administrators Posted May 30, 2012 But why do all that when RP2 has a light sensor now? :iiam: Quote
The Merchant of Menace Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Where's the fun in doing everything the easy way? I find the Solar Panel -> Detector Cable to be much more fun than just placing down a light sensor and being done. Quote
luckdemon Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 But from the standpoint of a server owner who wants to have some cool looking lamps mounted on jacketed wire posts to look like actual street lamps without all the extra hassle of running cable and redpower to them? its quite a nice and compact solution.
