  1. And we should give a fuck about Greg and mDiyo's bickering why?
  2. I still say the Razer Blade is more than worth it if you're going to drop two thousand dollars on a laptop. That ASUS RoG laptop Amaxter linked is more intended as a "desktop replacement" than a portable gaming device. 24GB of RAM is pretty overkill for most games. If you really, really have your heart set on a 'gaming' laptop, get the Blade - the weird touchscreen trackpad actually has a reason for existing, namely that it's out of the way of where your palm would rest while your hand sits on the WASD keys. And the fact it's not an OLED screen is such a silly reason to not get it - it's a 1080p LED-backlit panel.
  3. Laptops aren't nearly as modular as desktops. you could probably add more RAM but I'd wager on all the slots already being full. As for replacing the CPU...possible, yes. Simple enough for Joe Q. User to do? Hell no. And 1TB can go pretty fast these days, what with modern games hitting 18-20GB pretty handily.
  4. The Blade is far from merely "OK". Seriously, if you're dead set on buying a two thousand dollar laptop, buy one. Alienware is, I guarantee you, far lower quality than Razer. As for the 'new' Macbook Pro...seriously? Apple is far more expensive than an Alienware, and for that matter, isn't nearly as powerful at the same price point.
  5. We can't help unless you give us enough information to replicate the bug. Please make a post over in bug reports section with as much information as you can provide.
  6. Alienware is both terrible and overpriced. ASUS generally does 1080 or 720p, but I don't think anyone makes laptops with OLED screens.
  7. If you've got $2.3k to drop on a laptop, I'd definitely splurge on a Razer Blade Pro. The one with a 128GB SSD is right around that price. Getting one with a 512GB SSD will bump the price up to about $2.8k. The older model (sans the 'Pro' moniker) with a 512GB SSD is about the same price as the RBP with a 128GB SSD. E: Alternatively, if portability isn't a big deal, ASUS makes some great 'desktop replacement' laptops. Or, if you'd rather spend that money on a great desktop, I recommend using PCPartPicker to choose your build as doing that is far cheaper than buying a prebuilt desktop.
  8. You're using integrated graphics that clearly don't support OpenGL like Minecraft expects. Get a proper video card.
  9. Just use that email address and the associated password.
  10. Launcher Version: 253 (Beta Builds) Operating System: Window 7 Professional x64 SP1 Java Version: 1.7.0_02-b13 Antivirus Program: Microsoft Security Essentials Description of Problem: After switching the launcher to use beta builds and closing it as requested, when I start the launcher (either through a shortcut or by directly executing the file) the Technic Launcher splash appears, followed by a loading bar. Once the bar fills, the splash disappears and nothing else happens. 11. I've isolated the relevant part of the log for you. Go into your .technic/hexxit/config folder and remove all instances of '?' from BattleTowers.cfg . If I recall correctly, the .technic folder is somewhere in the Application Support folder. If you're having the same issue with the same error log, then follow the steps above. If not, I encourage you to provide more information and not expect people to be able to read your mind.
  12. Thank you - I'm sure the servers there are great but some more selection would be fantastic.
  13. Asking about FTB content on the Technic forums. Classic faux pas.
  14. Maybe you should try not using an outdated version of Craftbukkit.
  15. No, I haven't. Hexxit includes the Not Enough Items mod. That is the only inventory mod I know of that uses the 'O' button, and it does not add slots. If it's a different mod that is giving you issues, then it would behoove you to name the mod instead of making people guess.
  16. You need to remove any Not Enough Items (the "o inventory" you so eloquently describe) from your server's /mods/ and/or /coremods/ directory, or properly configure NEI to not allow people to save inventories.
  17. I'm sure none of you hang around in the IRC channel on SynIRC, but one thing I've noticed there is a tendency for users (mostly ones using a web client) to join, ask if anyone is present, and promptly leave before anyone can answer. This thread is dedicated to cataloging their impatience, and finding out just who is the most impatient person in IRC. Here's the way it works: Sit in the Technic IRC channel. When you notice an impatient user, post their username and time-to-leave in this thread, as well as what they post if it's sufficiently amusing. This post will be updated with contenders as needed. CONTENDERS irctc360: 15s (17:50:33 to 17:50:48) cul8rg8r: 25s (16:40:30 to 16:40:55) Tazman_01: 49s (19:59:14 to 20:00:03)
  18. ...It's not an installer. The file you download is the launcher itself.
  19. It's a server on his LAN. You can probably run it on the same box, but you'd probably not want to run it from the same location in your file structure as your Voltz server. Depending on the power of your server, you might be able to run both at the same time.
  20. I recall Notch saying once that Valve's requirements make Minecraft on Steam highly unlikely. Not necessarily, about ninety percent of games on Steam use a third-party engine - that is, one that was not made by the same people that made the game. There are even some Steam games that are basically just Flash in an executable 'wrapper'. Also, Minecraft already has its own engine, which is written in Java and runs as a Java instance. That said, if Mojang were to rebuild Minecraft in, say, C++ and do it well, I don't think anyone would complain. The issue with that, of course, is that it would be more difficult to make multiplatform - UNIX-based OSes need some tinkering done to make C++ executables play nice. It would also invalidate pretty much all of the code knowledge at Mojang, since they all code almost exclusively in Java. Not to mention, a C++ Minecraft would completely destroy the modding scene as we know it and might very well kill of Minecraft modding wholesale without a very robust API.
  21. I think you're looking for the Small-Scale Recruitment area, chum.
  22. Posting in a dead thread? Check. Posting in a thread about a server where the owner is permabanned? Check. Being unable to form even the most basic of coherent English phrases? Check. For everything else, there's removing yourself from existence.
