  1. So I made a modpack - a private one - and hosted it at minecraft.mysite.com/_client.zip However, when I paste the link that the Platform provides me into the "Add New Pack" dialog in the Launcher, it throws an error that claims the download link is invalid. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but can someone help me out? Problem solved, I made a simple mistake and didn't add http:// in front of the link. Thanks go to Oolloth for catching that.
  2. Exactly what point are you trying to make here?
  3. APU != CPU. An APU is not as powerful as CPU+GPU.
  4. Integrated graphics in a CPU != discrete graphics card. Maybe OP should get a discrete GPU and see if that helps, because integrated graphics suck monkey balls.
  5. Uh. What. No they don't. Also Steam/Valve doesn't control sales, the developers do and all of the sales I've seen were legit sales. I've never seen a single instance of the sale price being the same as the regular price.
  6. You're both idiots. You can't link a file from your C:/ drive and have it display over the web, nor can you simply link to a nonexistent file on the Technic site - where 1'm sure you don't have FTP access - and expect that to be displayed. Now, upload your stuff to imgur.com and link it using image tags. For the record, here's a nice view of my current skin: Bonus points if you can find the URL for the skin itself. Extra bonus points if you know what the skin is based on.
  7. Obtaining permissions from modders to use their mods in a modpack is not the Technic Team's responsibility, save for modpacks that are assembled 'in-house'. Nor is it the Technic Team's responsibility to police the modpacks posted by other people. Keep asking questions like that and you're sure to get one sometime. And yet somehow that argument holds water with the MAFIAA and the judicial system. Go figure.
  8. ...Okay, wow. This is getting out of hand, I think. That, or the singularity's eating people. Best be safe and nuke the planet from orbit.
  9. I felt a certain amount of brain cells screaming in sheer agony at the concentrated satirical idiocy contained in this thread. What have you people done? You've created a singularity of unintelligence!
  10. I thought this thread was supposed to be for silly/impractical suggestions. That one is neither!
  11. Well, I presume there'd be some sort of limitation to prevent people from abusing that kind of service.
  12. ...That's actually a pretty good idea.
  13. Hate to piss on your parade, but considering they haven't even released the API, who is to say whether it is good or bad?
  14. Microtransactions - Pay .99 euro to buy a diamond pick! $2.99 for multiplayer! $3.99 to change your graphics options! 5.99 to install mods of any kind! And so on and so forth.
  15. Get the i5 and the GTX 660 (660 Ti or a 670 are even better, but the 660 is a solid choice if you're on a budget.) As for RAM, get neither of those. Instead get this SAMSUNG RAM. It is literally the BEST RAM on the market.
  16. Got warning point for low-effort post in troll thread. Worth it.

  17. I'm seeing a lot of block ID conflict errors - do those show up only when you have MW/MV installed, or are they normal for your server? Because at a glance, I'd say that the block ID conflicts are the most likely culprits.
  18. I've played the Dev Beta, and I'm neither impressed nor excited. The online component is required for gameplay, as the new engine offloads a lot of the simulation number crunching to EA's servers instead of the local CPU. Yeah, the could saves and curvy roads are nice, but you're sacrificing a lot for that. City size is gimped, basic city sim functionality is gimped unless you build certain buildings - you can't, for example, start out building a sewage treatment plant, oh no, you have to dump sewage until you build the Dept of Utilities and THEN you can place the sewage treatment plant. EVERY city starts the same - mix of RCI, then slowly specialize while wrestling with the spacing of roads to have enough space for buildings to upgrade their density. It's not a terrible game, but there are more reasons to avoid it than there are reasons to buy it.
  19. I saw the first post. Read a bit. Read some of the thread. Laughed. :tinfoil:
