  1. I have a (used) Twitton AX 720. It's...all right. Definitely not worth the retail price tag - my set has a tendency to play sound sent through the TOSLINK just fine, but not from any program, such as Mumble, set to play sound over the USB cord. Turtle Beach is good as well, but most audiophiles will recommend you not get a headset and instead combine good headphones (I hear Sennheiser is good) with a discrete desk mic. Snowball makes some very good desk mics.
  2. No, actually, grammar (not grammer) is important. Having proper grammar (and spelling) means you present yourself as an intelligent and well-spoken individual. For example, my posts likely elicit an image of a cranky old English guy nattering on about how these young folks are ruining the language, while your posts elicit the image of your average 'hood rat trying to impress his homies with his mad computer skillz. In case you didn't catch it: You sound like a fucking idiot, and you are a rude little bugger to boot. Please, I beg you, fuck up enough times that some moderator bans you. It's the one way you can improve this forum. I'm not going to even bother addressing the rest of your rambling incoherence (because ), save to mention that it is hard to believe that you built an entire company while communicating with such poor language skills.
  3. *bows* 'Tis an ability I'm rather proud of. First: Your language. You need to at least try to speak it properly. Second, Dells (while having terrible hardware) ship with the retail version of any OS they make available. So if your (shoddily constructed, overpriced, and underpowered) computer has, say, 32-bit Vista Home Basic, that's your fault. Not Dell's. (Although like all manufacturers of prebuilt computers, they do have an awful tendency to stuff your HDD with useless crapware.) And, for that matter, the "Home Premium" version of Windows 7 isn't exactly gimped, as it hasn't been edited with the GIMP! All seriousness, though, for 90% of users the "Home" version of Windows 7 (or 8,if you're so inclined) is as much control as they need. Professional has many additional and very useful tools, but the operating system is not less usable for the lack of them.
  4. Let me correct that for you: "No, I do not, haha. Do you? Because if you do, I doubt you always shout." And the fact that you did not catch that extremely well known popular culture reference saddens me greatly.
  5. ...This thread. So much derp and sperg. "I iz I. T. I haz CompTIA A+++++ certficayshun." Guess what, a certification means nothing without knowledge behind it. I have no certifications and no engineering background, but I can tell you from practical experience that the majority of prebuilt desktops are either horribly underpowered and shoddily built (but affordable), or decently powered, horribly overpriced, and still shoddily built. Even the better quality, custom built-to-order shop like Falcon Northwest are STILL ludicrously expensive. I have a $2k "dream build" sitting on PCPartPicker. An equivalent build by Falcon NW is something like two to three times as expensive. All this fighting over qualifications and whether a certain prebuilt manufacturer is good or not is unintelligent and immature. Half the reason I'm rarely on this forum is the sheer inability of 90% of the users to disagree with people without resorting to personal attacks.
  6. First: Don't sign your posts. You'll get in trouble for that. Second, this is in the wrong area. Third, what do you mean by not compatible? Does it crash? If so, any error messages? Does it just plain not run? Do you have Java installed? Can't help you much if you just flat say it's not working.
  7. If you don't have an adblocker installed, then you are doing Internet wrong.
  8. Plugging PCpartpicker here. Good site, does what you list in the OP, links to more than just one place to actually buy the hardware.
  9. First, you still could have resized it. Second, that's a PCI-E x16 card you have there pal.
  10. I wonder if the OP knew just how subjective the term "good" is before he posted this thread. And I wonder if he now knows, if he did not know before. Also...how many of those links were to Gangnam Style or parodies thereof?
  11. The main thing I have learned from this thread is that Minecraft's graphics code, and code in general, is horribly inefficient. But then, we knew that already.
  12. And this month's winner of the low content post award is...this motherfucker!
  13. The best game that uses a PS3 Move controller is Johann Sebastian Joust. Any other game...meh, you're probably better off just using the usual suspect.
  14. Windows 7 Professional x64, 2x nVidia GTS 250 in SLI. In general, performs comparable to a mid-range 400 series or a low end 500 series. They're starting to show their age, Diablo 3 dropped and I started having GFX hitching and other such fun stuff. Then again D3 is pretty terrible anyway.
  15. Why not include a link to the guide you used to fix the problem?
  16. Being on for a long time doesn't slow your computer down. Having a lot of processes running and taking up RAM does, but if you just leave a PC on and don't run anything on it, it won't slow down that much.
  17. BUT Y? TECHNIC FORUMS, Y U NO HALP MEH IN LESS THEN TEN MINUTS?
  18. This thread is bad and the OP should feel bad. What purpose does comparing the Yogscast (dimwits who SQUUEE over every little thing) to Direwolf20 (some dude who reportedly makes intelligent videos about Minecraft) serve?
  19. I'd also like to join the chorus of people commending both the Technic dev team and the mod developers for keeping things civil and levelheaded.
  20. So, here's a thought I had - having not read the entire thread, 'cause I'm a lazy bugger - is it possible to meet somewhere in the middle on all the copyright stuff? As it is, by Minecraft ToS the modding community in it's entirety is on shaky ground, legally speaking. IF Mojang decided to, they could screw over everybody EA-style, so where's the benefit to all this pointless infighting? If it's simply to boost a modder's ego or to allow him to flex his creative control muscles, then I really think that falls under the definition of "doing it wrong". The benefit should be for the end users, and from what I can see, the greatest benefit to the end user would be for everyone involved to get together, work it all out so everyone's at least ambivalent, and then make a HUGE FREAKING DEAL about having worked out said problems. Fighting between mod creators and modpack janitors isn't good for the end user, and what isn't good for the end user is generally not good for the developer. To paraphrase a quote, nobody ever went bankrupt by selling good product at a fair price. I'll allow you to draw your own comparisons between that and the situation here. I'm firmly of the opinion that while the mod devs do have a point concerning copyright, the fact that everybody is on pretty shaky legal ground should be more than enough incentive to resolve disputes amicably and rapidly.
  21. Except I see threads like this all the time, constantly shitting up the forum*. "I want to do a thing with a mod whose creator decided to specifically fuck with the end user in the worst ways possible, halp plz?" Why the hell should we give a damn beyond telling people that Forestry is no longer supported and that they're free to exercise their Google-Fu. By the way: Is the version of Forestry for the same version of Minecraft that your Technic install is running on? Yes? Good. Install that shit and go play. If you run into issues with subsidiary mods or Forestry itself, stop asking for help here, please. The people to ask for support for these mods are the creators, not the Technic forums. If they refuse to help, well, time to use the ol' noggin and figure it out yourself. *I do realize that since we essentially attract mostly 12 year old sperglords that expecting quality is unrealistic and complaining about people shitting up Cafe Lame of all places is like whining about how /b/ used to be good. (and don't fucking quote Rules 1 & 2 at me, those only apply on raids - and since /b/ never does anything except writhe about in a pit of self-masturbatory reposts these days...)
