  1. EPIC TRIPLE NINJA :ninja:

You get one, but you can't ride on it because clouds are far too wispy for that, and it's too small to produce any amount of precipitation or shade.

I wish to live in the locations of my choice, in a physically healthy, uninjured, and apparently normal version of my current body containing my current mental state, a body which will heal from all injuries at a rate 100 sigmas faster than the average given the medical technology available to me, and which will be protected from any diseases, injuries or illnesses causing disability, pain, or degraded functionality or any sense, organ, or bodily function for more than ten days consecutively or fifteen days in any year; at any time I may rejuvenate my body to a younger age, by saying a phrase matching this pattern five times without interruption, and with conscious intent: 'I wish to be age,’ followed by a number between one and two hundred, followed by ‘years old,’ at which point the pattern ends - after saying a phrase matching that pattern, my body will revert to an age matching the number of years I stated and I will commence to age normally from that stage, with all of my memories intact; at any time I may die, by saying five times without interruption, and with conscious intent, 'I wish to be dead’; the terms 'year' and 'day' in this wish shall be interpreted as the ISO standard definitions of the Earth year and day as of 2013.

  2. I'm going to do it the simple way, where it is directed to teleport a particular distance along a particular axis, and it will check that exact spot as if there were a receiving translocator there. It won't "fudge it" to try and fit nearby, but it will teleport through walls.

Now that I think about it, that's probably the most balanced/precise solution. If you're going to mess about with teleporting, I suppose precision should be required.

Like in programming, It's better to have an operation fail out and tell you rather than continue on in a messed-up state, right?

New question/brain dump time. Will teleportation using this drive be allowed in multiple axes at once or only one at a time?

To me, multiple at once seems like it could be more convenient, but only one at a time, (setting a direction and punching in a number via GUI, or setting both as arguments in a computercraft command), seems like it would be an interesting balance for the ability to teleport without a tether, and would make things way simpler overall. Maybe that should just be a limitation on lower-tier tele-drives? (Trans-drives? Warp drives? Line drives?)

Also, will they be controllable via computercraft ala carriage controller?

  3. there are more advantages of a 64bit OS, and they are useful everywhere, even when not playing Minecraft.

    Think about ~700MB more ram

True. It would also allow you to expand to 8gb of RAM if your hardware supports that.

Here in germany Win7 Pro is about $40

What? The full version of Win7? How on earth are you getting it for 40$?

Regardless, Linux would be cheaper and depending on your distro, will leave more resources for minecraft anyways, so unless you want to spend some decent cash, I'd go with Linux.

  4. Unfortunately it doesn't solve it, which means this is more than likely a problem with the registry file that would normally be created.

If someone could point me in the right direction as to where to the registry file, I would be much appreciative.

I'm not sure that editing the registry will fix this problem, but here's a link. Remember that editing the registry can be incredibly dangerous though, you should only do this if you are 100% sure you know what you're doing. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/235994

Frankly though, I doubt that that will fix your problem. Can you give me the forge log that is produced when minecraft crashes as you described?

  5. Multiple ways to do it:

    1) Translocate. If anything's there, tough titties, it's gone now, Star Trek episode where you phased through the floor. Easy to code; Quick to execute.

    2) Try to translocate: Fail if you can't. Easy to code; Quick to execute.

    3) Try to translocate: If you can't, pull back one block's distance and try again, repeating until you get back to the starting position, failing if you reach the starting position. Moderate to code; moderate to execute.

    4) Try to translocate: Start checking spot-by-spot in the direction of travel (to a maximum of your "jump distance"), and translocate at that distance or just short of the first discovered obstruction. Moderate to code; Super fucking slow to execute.

I vote for/would prefer 3, because that would offer both the ability to trans-locate through obstacles as long as there is space, (like for secret underground bases), and the ability to guesstimate distances and have it auto-stop when it hits something as long as you are reasonably accurate and there isn't a space behind what you were aiming for, (like for the drop pods theprolo was talking about), all without being too super slow or frustrating. I can think of a few interesting builds for this mechanic already.

Wouldn't 4 essentially just be a faster-moving version of the existing carriage motor?

EDIT: I just realized that my first case, (being able to skip through obstacles), is already somewhat covered by the trans-locator, but you have to have traveled to the location first to place the other trans-locator in the pair... But this would allow you to do such without having visited the place already... and would still be handy for the situations solution number 4 covers without being too resource heavy... I guess I still vote for 3.

  6. So I am planning to rent a 5 slot Hexxit server, but I have no idea how much RAMs I should get in order to have Hexxit running smoothly, so...can someone give me some suggestions, please? I wonder would 1GB suffice?

(I've never run a dedicated hexxit server, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I may be totally wrong.)

Personally, I'd go with at the very very least 2, but I tend to be way more lag-tolerant than most people. From what I've heard, hexxit is very server-heavy with all of the worldgen.

Pre-genning the world is a really good way to reduce the load from worldgen. As for the ram, I'd start with two and then upgrade if that proves to not be enough after pre-genning. But remember, RAM isn't the only thing that effects server performance, especially when you are running a pack with so many mods. Make sure to get enough CPU horsepower as well.

  7. I don't see the point of vanilla in the technic launcher. Is there any reason to use that insted of the mojang launcher? If there is when will it update to 1.6?

Not a ton, but it's nice to be able to have everything in one launcher. I use it as a throwaway instance for testing out mods. We really don't know when the launcher will update to 1.6 though. My guess would be, "soonish"

  8. Different people.

I think being unable to connect to Minecraft.net gives a different error to having the wrong username/password.

    Oh. Right.

And thus continues my daily quest to make myself look incompetent. :derp:

  9. Do you own a premium copy of Minecraft? The one that you had to pay for from Mojang.

    Cracked versions don't work.

I'm guessing he does, considering he mentions changing his password. I know the mojang servers have had issues lately. Are they going down still?
