  1. Title: Server pegging 100% cpu then tossing users Version: 0.5.3 OS: Windows 2003 R2 64bit Java Version: 1.7 Description of Problem: Every things going great, then people start lurching. It continues until the server ramps the cpu usage to 100% on all 4 cpu's. Java.exe is using all the cpu. It will actually pull all 8GB of ram I allocate to the server exe file within hours. I have pasted the part of the log when it starts and it dumps all the users, they get back on for about 10 mins and its all over again. 2. Sadly thats the problem. EE2 made them so reliable that it was ridiculous at 1024 eu/t. The author is challenging us to improve our designs. It's going to be a while before someone sits down and does this with some serious math calculations and not us just randomly stuffing components in patterns. On another note, you can just build multiple, low-output, safe reactors and get a paralleled improvement.
  3. Remove the dimensional-anchor .jar file from the mods directory alone got my world working again. It does not affect quarries apparently.
  4. I came in this morning and one of the two tekkit lite servers had a 1.2GB ForgeModLoader-server-0.log file. I specified the switch to limit the log file size to 100kb, but I guess this doesn't pass to FML. The apparent reason before was there was a geothermal generator in the nether. Even when it was chunk loaded, it spammed the console with this. As soon as someone goes near it, it goes away. To correct, I removed the offending generator. 2013-01-23 23:14:54 [WARNING] [iC2] EnergyNet.emitEnergyFrom: ic2.core.block.wiring.TileEntityElectricMFSU@12ed9382 is not added to the enet 2013-01-23 23:14:54 [WARNING] [iC2] EnergyNet.emitEnergyFrom: ic2.core.block.wiring.TileEntityElectricMFSU@6013d71 is not added to the enet 2013-01-23 23:14:54 [WARNING] [iC2] EnergyNet.emitEnergyFrom: ic2.core.block.wiring.TileEntityElectricMFSU@297468de is not added to the enet This one says there is an MFSU that is causing these now. Any way to curb this or at least fix it? I'd prefer to not have to keep deleting blocks off peoples stuff.
  5. You've gotten Essentials functioning? as in Bukkit essentials?
  6. Just a bit of a question, has anyone noticed that they dont need a chunk loader around their reactor? If I log out during the time its running and come back, it finished its cycle. Whiplasher, that's a good setup but it appears to use more fuel though.
  7. It happens bro, we're all human. Might I suggest using the Ultra-Low-Current cable if you're first starting out with just panels and not arrays. It has a much lower rate of loss (1 eu over 40 blocks) versus copper (1 eu over 5 blocks). It's also much cheaper until you have stockpiled a good bunch of panels. You wont need the copper cable until you start using things like vanilla generator, or geothermal.
  8. No need to be rude. I just admin the servers, I dont actually PLAY. And yes, I put a 2 in there instead of a 1. My mistake. I just sat down and crunched the numbers vs the resources.
  9. No, they're not overpowered, the reactors are under powered Anyhow, to keep the topic constructive, the Solar panels require too many resources to get MV and HV gear. Its just counterproductive. For example: 8 panels * 2 eu's each = 16 eu/t, when combined into an LV Array, you magically get 32 eu/t. 8 LV Arrays * 32 eu/t each = 256 eu/t. However when combined into an MV Array, you somehow get 128 eu/t. You get where this is going? 8 MV Arrays * 128 eu/t each = 1024 eu/t. When combined into an HV array, you get 512 eu/t. Therefore logic dictates that making anything larger than an LV Array is a complete waste of time and resources as an MFE and MFSU can accept anything equal, or below their rated outputs. Now, as far as EE goes I'm quite happy without it, although at times I miss it. With enough coal, you could make diamonds. Its nice to have some place to put all the unwanted stuff from a quarry (like the condenser), but the void pipe, and recycler are now my go-to's for refuse disposal.
  10. http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/v3/reactorplanner.html?21p7gt09bkhgza8u34pzik7z6ng5irxain821ojixoz508hu3jm5iwigci996c2acutviako2rapvy8 I should have used this earlier. Lots cheaper and I didnt have to spend a lot of resources UU-Matter'ing diamonds.
  11. Im getting 80-120 on Tekkit Lite with an E6300 and 250GTS. There are times when the alpha blending will kill it, but that is because the quarry frames, monument markers (for setting the quarry area), or even the fog. Under these instances I'll bottom out at 12. If you're getting 40 to 80, I really wouldnt complain unless its accompanied by 10fps spike drops. Texture packs and a few other additions cause variations in lag.
  12. Issue is resolved by simply removing dimensional anchors .jar file and launching the server.
  13. This issue is resolved by simply removing dimensional anchors .jar file from the mods folder. You will at least be able to play again, but automated machinery that rely on this will cease to function when no one is around.
  14. Short lived victory. Dang-it! Clients are forced to update to play. Removing JAR
  15. Immense, simply removing the .JAR from the mods folder brought the server back to life. I have downloaded 0.5.3's server files and moved just that offending jar and deleted the out of date. World Map is fully functional without reconstructing world.
  16. Roger that. Confirmed that dimensional anchors is the issue. Attempting update.
  17. This is good information, as I did not see it anywhere in the documentation. Also the bug that was noted where they burn at 2x and 4x (respectively) faster rates was also my concern. I will adjust the configuration to see if I can knock the costs down a bit more.
  18. What I indicated will remove the words from the display page. Hope this helps :)
  19. Seems things conspire against me today. The drive which holds all of my backups fried overnight. Delightful! Thankfully I rar'd the files before doing any edits. I will try that immense to see if it resolves the issue.
  20. My next question is why are you using a pipe for a single engine? Why not just put it up against the face of the quarry. You'd save a lot of resources that way. The quarry can hold 4 engines on it, while maintaining its output face (which doesnt need a pipe either, just put a crate on top of it). *Edit* I've also noticed that if anything that uses MJ's stops running (or doesnt use all of it) and you are piping power into them, the excess power builds up in the pipes and explodes. It will start at the machine end and slowly explode piece by piece down the line.
  21. Impressive, and a nice idea to have it power off when the power's not being consumed.
  22. I keep looking for them myself, but for the time being you can use the Slow/Regular Electric Engine if you're wanting to use EU/t's. There is an alternative engine that is introduced by Redpower2 that is very nice and performs exactly the same way, but uses blutricity.

  24. My setup is the way it is for one reason, flexibility. I can do breed and run both in the same housing. Something else to note that EMC doesnt work the same way as the past. Quad and Dual rods, if I'm not mistaken, don't turn into near-depleted cells, thereby removing your chances of breeding it back. You can take 2 uranium, turn it into 1 uranium cell, then turn the other into 8 near-depleted cells. Using the first cell, breeding 4. Again, with my setup, you can run it as full reactor at 240eu/t, or run it in breeder mode with 160eu/t with no changes whatsoever (with the exception of rod placement). Also be careful with those thermal monitors! You can invert their output by clicking in the area below the readout screen (the hatched area with change when you do so).
