  1. I am using x128 on my computer (Win 7 64bit with Java 7 latest version and 6 GB RAM allocated for minecraft/Technic) without any issues. So I am sure that it works I am using 7-zip for all the work, it should work with winrar as well (why ever one would still use that one). What I did was the following: Download Sphax for Minecraft 1.6.4 (either x64 or x128) -> DO NOT USE the version for 1.7.x or 1.5.x (or older). It has to be the version for 1.6.4 http://bdcraft.net/purebdcraft-minecraft Either http://adf.ly/564553/spbdc-64-mc16 (x64) or http://adf.ly/564553/spbdc-128-mc16 (x128) You should end up with a ZIP file (do NOT unpack!), put it in a directory you know and find again Download the PATCH for "Attack of the B-Team" from Sphax (either x64 or x128) http://bdcraft.net/community/pbdc-patches-rel-packs/attack-the-team-t1800.html (for Version 1.9.0c of Attack of the B-Team) You should now have two ZIP files I usually create another folder and COPY those two ZIP files in that (so you have the original ones still as backup) I open both with 7-zip (do NOT extract, just OPEN!!) You end up with two 7zip window, one with the minecraft stuff and one with the patch for AotBT I then go in the folder called "asset" of the patch, mark ALL of the folders in there, and drag&drop them into the "asset" folder of the minecraft-zip (hence adding the AotBT-Stuff into the minecraftzip) This can take a while After that I close both window (it may want to rezip the whole thing again) When both zips are closed I rename the minecraft (which now holds both zips in one) accordingly. If it fails, you still have the two files in another folder as backup Open Technic Launcher and start AotBT, open "Option", then "Ressource Pack", add the ZIP to the folder which is presented to you. The new pack should now be available to chose Choose it and WAIT...it can take some minutes to show up (it takes about 60 seconds on my computer the first time). Good luck
  2. No, not really. Unless they are close to you (close to the surface, etc.) so their name appears. Other than that...no, not really. Of course there might be another mod to help you with that. However, I do not know one.
  3. Thank you, I was wondering the same thing Because loading the chunk can be done easily when on a multiplayer server playing with others (one can be in the nether doing stuff, while the other is overworld). Pumping however is a different story
  4. Just to make sure I understand that... I would need to do that on both, client and server, if I would want to run more stuff from Flan's Mod on a multiplayer server. Is that correct?
  5. Any insights as of why it is not working anymore? Nevermind: -> '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  6. I am sorry to bring that thread from the dead, but here we are. Basically in Tekkit (and Tekkit Lite/Classic) there are several ways to build a rather long lasting kind of power setup (pumps, world anchors, etc.). In AoftBt there is not really such a thing. Using lava is at the beginning surely one way to go. Filling up several of hardened portable tanks can help you last a little while depending on your setup However, the "go to the nether and use its vast lava ressources" is not working as there is no pump and no world anchor. So lava is only for temporary use unless you go to the nether frequently to resupply. Using something (MFR Lava fabricator, Cooblestone/Magma Crucible) is not self sustaining, as the production of Lava outweights the profit and you are running dry rather fast. Even if you manage to find a solution (maybe with MFR Lava fabricator using less than 160k RF to make one bucket of lava, which will five you 160k RF) you would need a lot of magma dynamos to ensure you actually can provide the RF needed. There was someone saying that with galacticraft solarpanel (which does not (yet) output RF) you may generate lava on a station which then transfers the lava to your magma dynamos...but then again, the problem with world anchors exist The route with biofuel is rather painful. You need amazingly much sewage (and therefore animals) to ensure that the carrots/potatos/crops/saplings (the more the merrier) are being made into biofuel by a bio reactor in a reasonable time (which in turn need quite a lot of power in itself). So it is rather hard to find the exact balance to ensure making enough biofuel to last long enough and get enough power for you and the whole setup. Additionally the project red pipes appear to have an issue to maintain enough stuff in the planter to ensure the automated farms. Even though I tell it to keep a certain amount of stuff in the planter (stock pile card), it does not work and some of the farms run out. Using reactant dynamos seem to be very complicated, too. Since there are at least two things (instead of one with magmatic or compression dynamo) to be produced non-stop. So unless I am missing something badly (and yes, I know...it is not Tekkit after all), there is no real reliable way to get power in a automated fashion...however, I would be gladly proven wrong
  7. Hi all, thanks for this thread. I have the very same issue after I had to reinstall the technic launcer and downloaded attack of the b-team (1.0.9c which worked fine before) from scratch. I can not test the fix at this very moment, however, it gives me hope there is a solution for this
  8. I do miss the pump as well, granted. But without an anchor it is useless anyway (unless you have several people at the right places and unless the whole chunk loading limits per person is gone). I might even want some planes from Flan's Mod. However, I think this modpack is quite balanced as it has a different theme than Tekkit. What I am missing are some known pipe systems (buildcraft likely), because I still have some troubles with Project Red (mainly my incompetence rather than techinical). So, no...I personally do not think it needs more (I'd rather say that I miss Flan's Mod in Tekkit as planes and building airports is fun )
  9. Hi there Bad Logins: I happen to have them as well occasionally. In my case I just need to stop/close the launcher completely, wait a few seconds, start the launcher again, start the modpack and then try again. It usually works then. If that does not work for you, I suggest you check whether your login actually works (and you are not in offline mode). Other than that I am not sure of the logs disclose more information about a bad login, it might be worth a look. As for the other thing: I guess you mean that you miss the information whenever you "look" at a block. That is to my knowledge something that NEI and its plugins offer. So I guess you were unlucky enough to hit a combination of keys to turn that off. It should be in the configuration of NEI (once you are in the game you can config NEI to a certain degree). However, I do not know the details, sorry.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I read up to some threads (specially in Feed the Beast) which states that at some point melting the villagers was not possible (anymore). Since my villagers seem not to take damage at all it appears I might have a different problem all together.
  11. Hi StratusNightstar I am sorry, but I am not quite understanding. So far I gather that the AutoSpawner is being used to MAKE villagers which then are being melted down. However, if I read correctly there is a way to make emeralds by using AutoSpawner in itself? Appreciated if you could be more specific.
  12. Hi everyone I appear to have tremendous problems to find emeralds in nature (I find tons of other stuff, of course). Now I heard that it is possible to melt villagers in a tinkers construct melting pot. However, I have questions and I was not able to find answers by using google, youtube or this forum. Hope you may be able to shed some light on this issue: Are there certain biomes which spawn emeralds in a decent number (I guess not, but I have to ask) How do I exactly melt the villagers? (I melted iron, then put a villager in the pot with the melted iron using my safari net (despawning the villager), but nothing happend) I was not able to find a youtube video or any "step by step" info about this... Once I manage to melt the villagers, how to I get the emeralds? I guess I get liquified emeralds that needs to be put somewhere to make emeralds or do I get a block of emerald The breeding stuff is not important as of now, I will trying to use the MFR approach with the autospawner. Thanks a lot for your help!
  13. How long did you wait after the "not responding"? Happens to me sometimes as well, I just wait a moment and it starts anyway. Otherwise I suggest you check the logs for any information. Maybe a re-install might help as well. For further help we certainly need more information (logs!, your systems specs such as RAM, graphics cards, operation system, etc.). best regards Rover
  14. I would second Sphax (see http://bdcraft.net/). It naturally takes some time to have updated ressource packs. But other than that, very nice pack.
  15. Hi there Again, I am not very savvy with all that However, there is one line that caught my attention: Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 4094 is already occupied by net.minecraft.jammy780.furniture.blocks.wood.jfm_WoodBlocksTwo@1c8920d when adding com.xcompwiz.mystcraft.block.BlockLectern@ec9da0 If I am not mistaken and if I am not missing something, it appears that your mod and one of the already installed mod (I think it is mystcraft) have an issue with the blocks. They want to use the same block ID which, of course, is not possible, I am afraid I am not sure how I can help. If there is a configuration file for your furniture mod, maybe there are some settings you can make for the block ID. Try and change those, maybe it will work eventually. best regards rover
  16. What ValkonX11 said. I just add: If you want EE2 then Tekkit Classic will offer that for you. However, Tekkit Classic is based on a (much) older version of Minecraft and the mods are rather old as well. It is still very much playable, of course.
  17. I'll give it a try. Now, there are two ways to make a server which can run 24/7. You either pay monthly to a server host (there are plenty, I will come to that) or you have a "server" at home running in a room with your internet connection. Depending on your computer skills and your ability to find out things for yourself (google and such) you MAY try the "home server" approach. However, power and server cost money and you need to invest more time. I personally would suggest you take the server hosting approcah -> you pay 10 to 20USD (or whatever currency you are on) and mostly everyhing is taken care of. I do not know whether in these forums there are people advertising their hosting services. However, in minecraftforum.net there are: See: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/131-minecraft-server-hosting/ Some of then will surely offer Tekkit (Lite) as hosting option. However, you might need some time to find one that suits your needs. best regards Rover
  18. I can not help you personally. However, in order for someone to help you, they need way more information: - What is the name (and link) of that mod you want to add? - Have you consulted the log files from minecraft after such a crash? Can you post it in here? best regarda Rover
  19. Hi Just to summarise what has already been said and some insights: 1) Minecraft (and therefore most or even all its mods) are written in Java and are therefore run with a Java Environment. Java has very specific methods on handling certain things, including the allocated RAM. As a user you can allocated/dedicate RAM to Java (and its "Server" in which it runs the code/programm so to speak). Usualy one would think "the more, the merrier". In Java, however, this is not necessarily the case as Java is checking the RAM regurarly for unused objects and removes them. That particular process uses up ressources (mostly CPU time) and therefore may cause lag to all other programs (including the code that runs in that java environment -> minecraft) This is why people suggested that you may not want to allocate all the available RAM to Minecraft, even though it makes sense in the first place to do so. With less RAM, Java is less inclined to do those sweeps and, more importantly, those sweeps of the RAM takes less time (as there is less RAM to be checked). Please bear in mind that this explanation is very basics, I am sure there are tons of details and other things I have left out that Java programmers and intense users would need to know. So do not take it too literally, just as a start to understand. 2) As pointed out, the Launcher gives you a chance to allocate how much of your (usually free) memory you want to use for minecraft. The amount that is offered in this drop down menu is very much dependend on two things: Your PC architecture (including software) and the amount of RAM you actually have. While it is obvious that you can not allocate 12 GByte of RAM if you just have 4, the first thing maybe a little more difficult to grasp. A computer running on Windows (or linux for that matter) that is "designed" for 32bit operations or has Java installed that is only designed for 32bit will not (easily) be able to address more than 3.6 GByte of RAM. The Launcher wil therefore offer only 1 GByte (or maybe 2) as the most RAM you can allocate. To avoid this you need an operations system for 64bit and Java for 64bit installed. Make sure that your CPU can handle it (if your computer is not more than 5 years old, it will be able to run 64bit). If the Launcher correctly finds the 64bit Java installation, it will offer more than 1 GByte of RAM. 3) It was pointed out in another thread ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>) that for some reason the configuration in the Launacher has been overwritten. While the launcher said it would be using 4 GByte RAM, only 1 GByte was used in reality. It had something to do with Windows environment variables. I will try to find the thread -> EDIT: found it best regards Rover
  20. Launcher Version: 1.1.2.0 Operating System: Windows 7 64bit Professional Java Version: 1.7.0_13 Antivirus Program: Avira Antivirus Description of Problem: Hi everyone Tried to update from tekkit lite 0.5.2 to 0.5.6/0.5.7, but I failed (error see below). Then deleted the .techniclauncher folder in my roaming profil, started from scratch (also downloaded the exe techniclauncher from the site again). Same error (tried to log in using the recommended version). Deleted everything again and tried the .jar file as well (same error though). Anyone an idea what I am doing wrong here?
