have you put a cast on the casting table to fill? (e.g. an ingot, pickaxe head, etc.)

The wiki is current as of 1.0.6. Some updates have been made to it, but since 1.0.6 is still Recommended it's a balance between which version to reflect on the wiki.
-
it's been updated in recent Tekkit versions (1.1.5 and later); I'm not clear on how the new Linking Book works at this point.

Any chance the block in question is directly in the path of a floodlight? It's been a while but I think I had very odd behavior for a piston due to a floodlight.
-
Not really sure, as I never use Creative mode. But I know pressing "O" toggles the NEI in Survival. Was trying to hold back until somebody that knows better responded. :)

to build off what Toki just said, I think I've heard of people not running a modded server because they ran the minecraft_server.jar file instead of the Tekkit.jar file. Just a thought...

well-phrased, RY! for the OPs reading pleasure: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/board-rules-and-guidelines.3918/

(MAC) Help with starting server with more memory HELP
weirleader replied to aostuff's topic in Hexxit Discussion
do you have a Hexxit.jar file in the same directory as your launch.sh? No typos/misspellings? -
it seems he's asking about pumping fuel OUT of a Fuel Loader. Never thought about trying that... I'm not sure it's possible.
-
thanks Charlie! I hadn't noticed that button.

you can post in bugs, but you must submit a bug report (note the link at the top of the page); you don't create a first post like you do in other sections because they want you to fill out a form to be sure to gather certain details about your issue.

lol -- okay, I would back up the rest of the files, locate your world saves (possibly tekkitmain/saves) and be ready to copy those. Then delete the entire tekkitmain file and when you go to play it should reinstall everything. (which of course you have backed up for safety). then drop your saves back in. Sorry about that; apparently I'm better at fixing my own system than walking other people through it.

Put the tin ingot below the stone instead of to the right/left and they're craftable. I don't recall where I came across that, but it seems to work. It had annoyed me too, for a while.

Ok, now I better understand your problem. It seems the OS is non-functional. From a Google of ComputerCraft not working or turning up an empty terminal it seems a few others have experienced this but I couldn't find specific solutions. However, one suggestion was that this is caused by an error during installation. So, perhaps you should go into '.technic/tekkitmain/mods' and delete ComputerCraft*.zip (there will be a version number where the * is but it's irrelevant for this). Then reload your game. It should do something along the lines of redownloading the necessary component and just maybe that'll nudge things in the right direction.

*sigh* be careful when asking that question, as it's been asked far too often on these boards. In brief, things are different and therefore can be painful to those that have tried-and-true habits and preferences. But different also is an opportunity to try out new things and figure things out from the bottom up. So just try to enjoy the new stuff and the figuring it all out again. There's lots there... like Applied Energistics, BioFuel setups and now (in the newest releases) Atomic Science.

vine scaffolding; workbench backpack. think they don't actually make an appearance until 1.1.5 or 1.1.6, so you may need to upgrade your Tekkit version in the TechnicLauncher. http://wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit (not everything is in there yet, especially 1.1.5/1.1.6 stuff since it's not yet 'official')
-
Before we can figure any more out, you need to do the following: (1) Press F2 to take an in-game screenshot (2) you will find that image in c:/users/<yourname>/AppData/Roaming/.technic/tekkitmain/screenshots (often AppData is hidden on your system; you'll need to adjust settings so you can see it) (3) then post that image Once I have a better idea of the exact screen you're looking at I'll know if you're experiencing something out of the ordinary. Maybe then we'll be able to figure out what's up.

that could be -- and this is definitely hearsay, but it seems some pretty heinous world regen has done some serious damage to several worlds/homes.
-
guessing you had Secret Rooms components in your house; that seems to be the trouble with unwanted world regen atm.
-
this is what I mean by a screenshot: http://imgur.com/Ra6gjay did you hit F2 and then upload the image or did you take a picture with your phone? I can hardly see what's going on on that screen.
-
that doesn't look like a screenshot...
-
can you press F2 while you're trying to 'activate' a turtle our computer and then share your screenshot (using imgur.com or something similar)?
-
1.5.1 isn't a Tekkit version -- but it probably means you're running 1.0.6 (the recommended build). Are you playing on your own server, single player, or another server? Some server owners will nerf Turtles because of griefing... (not sure about all ComputerCraft)
-
what version of Tekkit are you running? Can you access a turtle and show a screen shot? Or are you saying that right-clicking on a turtle does nothing?

My friend can't join my Hexxit server.

is your server local means... are you running it from your own system on your own LAN or are you paying a hosting provider to use a server somewhere out there on the internet? assuming it's local (somewhere on your LAN), you need to access your router and forward 25565 (assuming it's the Minecraft default) to whatever computer is hosting the server (on my setup it's 192.168.1.10, for example). (port forwarding can vary quite a bit based on your router -- you might start here: http://www.wikihow.com/Set-Up-Port-Forwarding-on-a-Router) once that's done, he should put in your external address (should also be listed in your router interface when you check on port forwarding) as the server to which he's trying to connect.
