Atomic science power generation. Tips and tricks.
weirleader replied to jakalth's topic in Tekkit Discussion
for the love of all that's holy -- add this to the wiki! -
according to this, no.

I found this thread helpful, as well as this one. And I highly recommend all the Mindcrafters videos, several of which can be found here. Lastly, you might try the Applied Energistics site, though you have to pay attention because Tekkit 1.1.8 uses version 12b and some of the videos there are for both earlier and later revisions.

not sure if this is what you're asking, but once you get a nice AE network set up you can automate the process of producing energy conduits, cells, tesseracts, etc. You just need to put a pattern into a properly designed subnetwork OR, as some others do, have specific stations (one for liquid redstone, one for liquid ender, etc.) set up where you send the frames for filling.

I need help making a Tekkit server
weirleader replied to MasterChiefPlaysMC's topic in Tekkit Discussion
well, to start things off, have you tried this: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Setting_up_a_server ? EDIT: sorry, I know that's not for Tekkit, but the instructions should at least give you some idea of what a Tekkit install should look like. And, as a second question, you did download the Tekkit Server .zip file, correct? Can I assume it's the 1.1.8 version? -
does the floodlight melt all ice in its beam? or just within a few blocks, like a torch?
-
I'm assuming you mean you want a way to automate pumping liquid into an in-world space -- sounds like it's coming our way eventually: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/question-about-oil.52531/#post-432952

Launcher not recognizing my MC account
weirleader replied to Xplosion99's topic in Tekkit Discussion
but it works for logging into vanilla MC? -
Also worth noting is that (a) BioReactors run *much* more efficiently when filled with a variety of items (9 different types produces a heck of a lot more biofuel per unit); and ( you can run something like 8 or 9 BioFuel Generators off of a single BioReactor [maybe more, though it probably depends on how efficient it's running and how much drain on power there is]. Furthermore, lots of power doesn't necessarily mean quick smelting. I think there is an upper limit on the Powered Furnace speed, regardless of how much power is supplied, so I wouldn't be quick to judge the BioFuel Generator's output based on a Powered Furnace's output.

sounds like it might be a bug -- did you try posting this in the bug section?
-
I'll second the suggestion to stay away from fencing and use solid blocks (possibly even 2 blocks thick). When I had fencing I ALWAYS had leakage in both directions and it never worked out well. Once I went to solid block walls and conveyors life got much easier.
-
excellent! been wanting something along those lines.
-
and you might try posting here (click the 'Submit a Bug Report' link near the top)
-
another thought I had -- have you tried removing/disabling all but the 'broken' singularity and see if having ONLY that one active works? Then add them in one pair at a time?
-
I haven't tried anything along these lines before, but it sounds like you need a single output function, triggered by a change in any input, that will completely re-draw the entire screen with all relevant info every time one of the inputs changes.

you have a couple options. plowman has a nice pack out there somewhere (in fact there's a link somewhere in this forum which I'm too lazy to look up) that he compiled for Tekkit. You can also just look out for a general MC 1.5.2 pack, as that will at least cover SOME of your world. But I find that if you just search for Tekkit texture packs you can at least find a lot of good stuff to start you out: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1599477-technictekkit-pack-texture-packs/ http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/901498-x64162152147-ovos-rustic-pack-redemption-v101-updated-20130714/ http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/tekkit-main-sphax.43713/ EDIT: to be more specific, some of these don't address all the mods included, which is why the one that plowman put together is so nice; you can always put your own together by piling all the various texture files into your own folder in the texturepack location, but yes that's something of a chore, especially when you're new at it. Sorry I can't help more about the power armor...

good point -- hadn't even noticed! couldn't find any config settings. wonder what gives.

Server crashed not sure what to do next!
weirleader replied to deltasrage's topic in Tekkit Discussion
that sounds like a good idea, but with a recent backup; do you happen to have a backup? -
well you hit all the things that typically go wrong -- maybe you could take some pics of (1) conduit settings, (2) tesseract gui, both of them? I typically drop my energy tesseract right next to my quarry and don't even bother with conduit to connect them.

I don't have a good all-purpose answer for you, but for the most part you can sneak+wrench to pop up TE machinery (and maybe other stuff? not sure); if you sneak+wrench and it won't recover the item then you just have to break it, at least in my experience. Also, be careful when sneak+wrenching Galacticraft stuff. It may be better in 1.1.8 but in earlier versions it would bring my game down.

one place you can try is: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\.technic\tekkitmain\crash-reports
-
or maybe something like this
-
you can add water by piping it in (I recommend liquiducts supplied by a pump -- power the pump with a redstone engine), but when you're just getting started you can also add water by right-clicking the engine with a full water bucket.
-
sorry, couldn't see the pictures, so I'm guessing at what's going on: (1) you didn't mention providing water to your steam engines -- if you're not doing that they won't function (2) Not sure about this; I just right-click the 'central' landmark (of the 3 I place) where I want to place my quarry and everything lights up red... but even if you don't use landmarks a quarry should still start up with a default size (can't remember if it's 8x8 or what). (3) I have 10 Magmatic Engines powering my Quarry and it's still not fast enough for my taste, just fyi.
