  1. As is says lol. I know its on a space station, but still, the mechanics are the same as on the moon. Its in this episode, Just skip through it and you will get the idea.
  2. I have an mfr treefarm on my station, you just have to make sure the saplings you use dont go in your hotbar, otherwise they change into the ones that need 4 blocks of water.
  3. One pipe then an interface is better than several pipes and a chest though, plus the interface is marginally cheaper than the import bus.
  4. Put a pipe on the harvester and have it run into an ME interface instead?
  5. Just adding a rule at spawn, and maybe popping up in side chat occasionally, stating that each player is allowed only one active quarry at a time is quite common. Most people would prefer to avoid 24 hours in jail ratherthan take the risk of being caught out. Making them uncraftable and handing out one per player would work also.
  6. Thanks Viktor, Ill take a look at the in game book thing. Ive checked the wiki a few times before, but a refresher is always useful lol. And if I do weirleader, I shall certainly post back. But its not looking very likely at the moment. I guess Ill just have to keep researching when I have a specific function I require and learn by trial and error.
  7. You dont have to ban mystcraft altogether, just the bookbinder to stop people creating worlds. Link books are very very handy. And removing quarries is going to cause a huge amount of people to not even try your server. If you just remove dimensional doors altogether, you wont need to ban the individual items.
  8. I have to agree with this statement. I like to mix things up with other games, or play some hunger games, invasion servers etc. There is far too many things to play with in tekkit to run out of ideas already.
  9. Nevermind, was googling binary circuits and found the t-flipflop is the guy Im looking for. If anyone has a link to a "good" video tutorial on rednet basics, I would be very grateful. The ones Ive seen thus far, tend to be by people who assume you are already familiar with binary circuits, and are just demonstrating the corresponding functions in the prc.
  10. Hey guys, Im not the greatest redstone expert, but I know my around. I want to use rednet cabling to operate a pair of lights. I can do it with vanilla redstone, but Im not certain on how to do it using rednet. The setup is basically,, [] __ [] Two lights at either side of a room, with a pressure plate inbetween. I want one to be on and one to be off. When walking across the pressure plate, I want them to switch. Which function in the prc would suit this task? I can throw redstone about and accomplish tasks, but Ive never really been clued in on the names of gates etc. Any push in the right direction would be very greatly appreciated.
  11. I dont think its the biofuel thats overpowered, its the farms themselves. Mfr farms and biofuel are the HV solar arrays of new frontier.
  12. Have you configured the dsu to output from the side you are extracting from?
  13. I had the same issue, but you can just put buckets of fuel directly in the fuel loader.
  14. Episode 7: We crack on with galacticraft and visit the moon before making a space station. Also, news for those who want to join a friendly whitelisted server, no griefing no pvp.
  15. I believe one of the most common videos showing other planets is the yoglabs episode from bluexephos. Thats how I found out more about galacticraft whenI hear dit would be in tekkit. I was a little disapointed that they were not included yet, but we have things to look forward to in the future.
  16. No, the meteors in mystcraft are a completely different mechanic. Just similarly named.
  17. Hey all, Im not the first person to encounter this on our server, but it has just happened to me, so its time to put some time into resolving the issue People are getting random holes appearing in there space stations. They seem like chunk errors, as pipes or conduits leading into the area just stop dead as if what they were connected to is still there. But its not, just empty space. Water sources stop flowing on the edges of the empty space, unless you replace them, in which case they flow into the empty spaces as normal. They arent the size of a chunk, so its not whole chunks that are affected. But its very very annoying. We are running 1.0.5 version of tekkit, with bukkit forge, lwc protection, essentials and probably other plugins. Im not the owner so cant be more exact than that. Is anyone else having this issue? I was hoping to extend my station exponentially and move everything up there permanently, but I dont want to login one day and find the entire ME network missing lol. Any help, very very greatly appreciated.
  18. Thanks to the helpful owner of our server, we have meteoric iron available in the server shops. Its not cheap, but at least its there if we need it.
  19. Agreed Spudgy, that definitely looks cooler than my setup. With the cost of galgadorian items, I didnt even factor in Steves carts as an option. I saw that they had a durability to be contended with as well now, so never gave them a second thought. You have certainly opened my eyes though.
  20. Haha yeah, the landmark thing was a real time saver when I found it out. I found out by accident while trying to power the old style golden transport pipes. And yes, this would be vastly improved with an AE control system. I havnt found the diamond pipes are sending items back to the harvesters at all? So I dont think there is a need for the insertion pipes on the planters. I thought sludge did slow down the harvesters, I tested it in a creative world, and the countdown/sleep timer in the harvester seemed to take longer when there was sludge in the system, though that may have been my imagination. 1440mj/t? Wow that is a bit overkill lol, there isnt much in the pack that can make use of that amount of energy lol. As I said, the finished farm is powering three quarries and several machines at the same time and its still producing more saplings than it uses, making it more efficient with different items, although not a bad idea in the long run, is not necessarily needed. How do bioreactors not work properly with buildcraft pipes? I know they dont fill up the full buffer with the same item, but they arent supposed to. They keep one slot on the item bar and one slot in the buffer filled with the same. Is it a problem with feeding in multiple different items? Because with just the single type of item, it seems to be working fine. If I was having trouble with not enough items coming through, a hopper would definitely be a good idea though. But all in all, once your system has been running a while and filled the planter and bio buffers with saplings, then most people will have more power than they will ever need, and it really doesn't need babysitting at all. The only time I choose to add saplings manually is during the start up process, as it makes it fill up faster. But its really not needed, you can just let it fill up itself, and once it has done, it will run indedefinitely.
  21. Ive seen a lot of people stuck in their ways doing the lava from the nether power option, and I agree it is a perfectly good power source. Or an AE tree farm, charcoal, steam engine setup is also perfectly viable. But I have to say the MFR tree farm and biofuel setup is genuinely hassle free and needs no babysitting whatsoever, no replacing the blades in a steves cart or moving pumps about. Just set it up and let it run. I know this isnt the place to post youtube videos ( it is posted in the lets play section). But from the topics Ive seen the last couple of days, somebody needed to point this method out to the masses. Skip to around ten minutes for the actual tree farm construction to start. Mfr machines are genuinely cheap to make, but I dont think many people are making use of them. If you like the idea, in episode 5, I add two more reactors and 8 biofuel generators to start siphoning off the excess saplings. The finished farm is currently running three quarries and multiple machines without breaking a sweat. It also works on the moon and space stations, and you can add a few oxygen collectors around it to provide constantly refreshed leaves for oxygen. N,b, When using saplings off world, dont put them on your hotbar, and they wont be converted to the ones that require four water source blocks to grow. (let the planter do the planting) Also, just using oak saplings provides enough biofuel for substantial power. But nothing is stopping you making a couple of these with different trees to make your reactors more efficient. I would recomend oak though as they seem to drop more saplings than other species. This is by no means a one block HV array, but its pretty darn good nonetheless :D
  22. Yes, feed it through at least two conduits before the pump and it will not overheat. And it will uses very little lava, if any to stay running.
  23. If you look in the lets play section for (NEW) tekkit tutorials and a lets play, episode 4 of my les play, I set up a self sustaining bioreactor tree farm setup, that is currently running three quarries and machines at the same time with ease.
  24. Hold shift and use the scroll wheel.
