Episode 2 is now up. I get some basic ore processing machines set up, finish mining with turtles and take a first and hopefully last trip to the nether. Someone mentioned about lowering the ingame audio in future, I will do so, but I had already recorded the footage for this episode.

Going by information someone else gave me about the spawn heights for thermal expansion ores, the sweet spot for copper and tin is between 40 and 45.

Ok, it took some time, but the first episode of my lets play is up. Did the hunter gatherer thing to start, as expected. Then raided pocket dimensions for loot and built a starter house. A little mining with turtles and we are nearly ready for the beginnings of a machine room

Fillers also can bypass protection.

I like to raid the pocket dimensions first, remember to only enter if you have a linking book. That will sort you out with a ton of good loot to get you started. Then I go for a few turtles and tunnel at y45 and y12. Then its time to hook up a pulverizer and powered furnace, using what ever fuel source is the most abundant for power. A basic sorting system and a quarry is next on the list. While a 64x64 quarry is busy, Ill build the rest of the machines and some power armour. When the quarry is done,,,TO THE MOON!

Quarries and turtles bypass many protections. Rifts are also nasty lil buggers if you dont have riftspread and rift damage turned off.

Totally agree with ditching pipes in favour of redstone conduit. Its expensive compared to pipes, but infinitely better. Do you have wooden conductive pipes attached to the engines?

The sealer is still buggy in this version of galacticraft. Its well known, and I believe a fix has been implemented for 1.5.2.

Any chance of a screenshot? It would be easier to determine an issue with the setup. I believe everyone elses is working ok, so the setup is the likely culprit.

They accept mj/buildcraft power. So any engine except the redstone engine. And they also work from redstone energy cells/conduit.

That is a good question, and I would be interested in the answer also.

You cant do it in creative.

Tekkit can be quite a hog on resources, for a few friends, you really want to be looking at about 512mb ram or better. There are at most two at a time on my 512mb server, and once a quarry or two are going, and people are exploring, the lag can get tiresome. I would recomend nitrous networks servers. They arent the best or cheapest, but they have good customer service, fast and reliable tech help and one click server installation. No need to be a computer genius to keep things running smoothly Im UK as well btw.

I narrowed my server issues down to chicken chunks. I removed the mod, and have not had any problems since.

Yes, refined fuel from buildcraft oils spouts is what you need.

The fuel loader needs to be powered. And it takes two buckets of fuel to fill the rocket.

First priority is food, a backpack, an iron pick and a linking book. Then Its off through a dimension door portal. You can also get a ton of glowstone, some diamond blocks, iron blocks, netherbrick, netherack, pistons galore and safari nets. When I get bored or end up in limbo, I use the linking book to get back home again. Then I spam a few mining turtles, then get them tunneling at y 12 and y 45. The turtles will keep your resource production at a good rate while you spam power and quarries. Then to the moon!

The galacticraft menu is now incorporated into the survival menu. So if you are in creative, you wont be able to use it. So switch back to survival. If its the fuel gauge in the rocket you were after, the button is F.
